La Quinta by Wyndham Joplin

Well...bedbug bites make for a bad vacation experience. They moved us into another room. We did only see one bedbugs, but it was after it fed on my daughter's boyfriend.But ACTUALLY WORSE. The bathroom floors are filthy and sticky. Literally sticking to our feet when we walked. I used a damp washcloth to wipe a small section of floor (about the size of a record album if you know those). Obvious visible grime. Just yuck. Our second room the bathroom floor (while not AS filthy) was also completely unacceptable.Bedbugs can happen but filthy bathrooms are a CHOICE that management/supervisors have allowed to happen.I would definitely not stay in this La Quinta again, and probably will never stay in one anywhere else either based on this experience.

Nice, dog-friendly hotel with a restaurant attached so you don't have to step off the premises if you don't want to! Also, there's a Starbucks right next door. Perfect for travelers who aren't looking to drive around to find places for sustenance.We were looking for a place to stay with our dog on our way home from our travels, and this place fit the bill.Our room was nice and clean and sufficiently furnished. We had a huge space to set up our dog's large kennel. Although the place is dog friendly, the room smelled clean and well tended. It looked like it had undergone a remodel semi recently. And they have free hot breakfast! What else could one ask for?Noise level is comparable to a lot of hotels I've stayed at (i.e., kids running down the hallway, noise from conversations, etc) but was easily drowned out by turning on the room fan. Surprisingly, no barking dog noise. Our dog was quiet as well.If we ever find ourselves in the area again, we will not hesitate booking this place again.

La Quinta offers a refreshing blend of comfort and convenience for travelers. And I must say that this is the best one that I've stayed in for some time now. They remodeled it to the point that there is no carpet. It's so refreshed. The rooms are clean, spacious, and well-appointed, ensuring a restful stay.

Not the best value, needs some work. When I travel, I'm not too picky. As long as there's a comfortable bed and a good shower in the morning, I don't complain. With that said, I thought paying a bit more would land me an enjoyable stay here. This La Quinta was over $100 for a weekday night, after a discount... and it was not worth it. The room was clean, but the beds were surprisingly uncomfortable. Very noisy and rigid. All you got to sleep under was a very thin sheet. The bathroom was mostly remodeled, but it's as if they forgot to finish the shower. The old shower head pumped out painfully sharp streams of water. I was only here to crash on a road trip. It was definitely not worth the cost, considering I barely got any sleep on that bed...

Chrissy and Megan are the dream team and make you feel at home! I travel for work a lot, I stay in a lot of hotels- this is the top place I ask my work to book me at when I am in Joplin. This is a gem of a hotel. Clean, quiet, easy to get to. However it's not the two pools, BBQ area, spacious congregation areas, workout room or the cute puppies that you see. It's 100% the staff! Chrissy makes me feel like a close friend at any encounter at the desk. She goes above and beyond for me and countless other guests who feel like we are family. She knows my name, and is always friendly. The staff here does more than some 5 star tropical hotels do. In a time where staff can be the hardest to find, you have staff going the extra mile every day at every encounter. 10/10 would recommend!

Nice hotel. I stayed for 1 night. Room was clean and very nice. The lobby is MASSIVE. It's attached to Old Chicago which is pretty cool. Also conveniently located next to Starbucks and McDonalds that you can walk to from the parking lot. Hotel hallways were so long I felt like I was in a movie lol

Did they mop the room floor or use dirty mop water? I went through 10-15 Lysol wipes and they came up filthy. Otherwise the room was decent. Nice courtyard area. Every time we come the grass is about 6 inches long which makes pet cleanup a challenge. Nice breakfast area and food. Staff friendly. We do like to stay here.

Beautiful ground! Great variety for breakfast. Friendly staff. Great pools. Room was perfect for teenage kids and the dog. The sheets were soft and comfy. Love that dogs are allowed for no additional fee!!! Would absolutely stay here again. I realize I rely on Yelp reviews more than I should. With the current low rating of this hotel I probably wouldn't have stayed here but when I made the reservation it was late and I didn't feel like looking at reviews so I booked it without knowledge. Boy am I glad I did! I will definitely stay here again. My only complaints are only 1 waffle machine was working at breakfast and while it didn't affect me others were annoyed by the long wait. And while our bathroom was clean the picture and other area were very dusty. Also to note the building is old tho very nicely remodeled the ceiling in the hallways and rooms are very low and outdated.

Room was extremely hot when we arrived. After it became apparent heater was broken, 2 calls to the front desk, was advised to "unplug it" This meant removing the front cover and putting my barehand into the mechanical part of this machine. Ended up sleeping with open windows in 10 degree weather.A text at 8am requesting our departure time was deleted and followed up by our remaining until 10:55. Ridiculous For the price I paid I certainly expected better than this

We stayed here last minute due to weather and ice. It was very nice, pleasant and quiet. They had accommodations to allow for our dog, with no problems. Staff was pleasant and friendly. Enjoyed the restaurant attached to hotel which made it so nice for the weather and roads. Breakfast was decent, a lot more choices than the average hotel breakfast and it had so much more space for sitting and space for others to just walk up and reach for one thing quickly, if you didn't have enough hands to get everything or forgot napkins or utensils.
