Great find in Wichita - a ramen shop with reasonably good ramen, a lunch set that includes an appetizer and drink for free, and the unique architecture and building to entertain the kids, including a wishing tree with bamboo panels to decorate (see art for some crazy good versions) and honeycomb seating areas. They have wonderful bamboo holders for napkins, three kinds of pepper, too.We actually came here three times in three days! Long seat benches can handle a lot of bigger groups (but hard to get out of if you have a lot of people). Smaller honeycombs are good for smaller groups.First day was lunch - you have a special for the price of any ramen, you can get a free drink (lemonade or Thai Iced Tea) and a free small appetizer (deep fried gyoza, takoyaki, and spring rolls). The Thai Iced Tea was fantastic, nice and chill and sweet. The takoyaki was perfectly cooked and just the right size to pop into your mouth at once! And I tried the yinyang bowl - split bowl with two different kinds of ramen; the miso ramen and the mega tonkatsu. Miso was just so-so (not enough miso flavor) but the tonkatsu was rich and savory. Meat was just ok (a little lean and dry) but overall nice to try two different ramen.Lunch the next day with some other parents - same except we tried different ramen- the white garlic and black garlic tonkatsu were both good here!Last meal was a dinner that night where we brought the kids. Lots of fun there - Lots of appetizers, tried, too - the salt pepper chicken was excellent! You can tell the Taiwanese influence, though they needed more salt/pepper. The bao bun was just ok; more of the cha shu cut a little thicker but still needed a bit more flavor. Pan fried gyoza were excellent crisp to them, though the meat filling I wasn't as much a fan of. Edamame standard, and the skewers in the yakitori platter were ok (best when hot). We tried a new meal of the classic Japanese omurice combo, with curry sauce, over fried rice. The rice was excellent, a huge portion easily shared by two people. And comes with the same 2 drink choice! For dessert, matcha pudding with red bean was not too sweet, perfectly balanced. They also gave us a free matcha tiramisu to try - great if you love tiramisu and matcha combined but a little bitter for me since I don't like coffee.Overall great- handled our party of 16 without a problem, kids ordered their own ramen, bubble tea, and appetizers, entertaining themselves with the drawing and hanging of the tiles, and the adults had a chance to enjoy their meal together. Super helpful staff, and easy to figure out how to split orders and more. Not the best ramen I've ever had, but far outpaced anything we found in the vicinity, according to other parents that tried more shops than we did over those days, and the experience is fun for the kids. Top marks even from the folks that weren't as sure about going to a Japanese restaurant, they were wow'd over by the spot!

I was finally able to try Kyuramen recently and the food was really good!We started off with Takoyaki. It was great! It came out pipping hot and had big pieces of tender octopus. It was definitely one of the better takoyaki's in Wichita. I ordered the #6 Kyushu Spicy Tonkotsu Ramen. It was a bit more spicy than anticipated but I really enjoyed it. It had 3 nice pieces of chashu pork, the egg was cooked perfectly, and broth was so tasty. There were plenty of noodles too. By the looks of the spicy broths the heat is coming from a chili oil. A complaint that I have was, right as I sat down I couldn't really hear my friend during our conversation because the thin bamboo divider between the tables did absolutely nothing to block out sound. Maybe sitting in a honeycomb would have been better.Overall the atmosphere is truly unique, fun, and picturesque. I feel price point is fair given the time the broth needs to get that good depth of flavor and the quality of the ingredients. There is a button on the side where I assume you ring for service. Which I should have done because we never got a refill of water and I left thirsty. I just thought they would still come by for refills, because otherwise the server never mentioned the button for all requests. There's a lot of different dishes to try that other Wichita places don't offer. I'll definitely be back to try the other menu items.

Food: 4/5 I don't really want to waste my time writing much about this place. The hype is just that, hype. The ramen is good but no better than any other ramen spot here in Wichita. Service: 2/5 Not great and very inconsistent. It seems to depend on who your server is and how busy they are or perhaps how much they like you? It just felt,at times, and various visits, like being in high school with the popular kids. Not at all what you want for a date night vibe. I get that this place is a chain and famous or whatever, but they certainly have some kinks to work out. Ambiance: 3/5 The decor and mood are very much what you expect in this type of ramen spot. It feels very " authentic/inauthentic" in that it is trying to harken back to what I assume the shops are like in Japan, but it just lacks a certain something and that leaves the whole thing feeling flat, like the pixilated anime wall sticker they have as a mural. It's very one dimensional for a place that is filled with hexagons. Try it, but be prepared to pay a premium for the experience of eating there.

Cute and casual interior and excellent service, even though they were super busy. The combination meal for two that I ordered with my friend gave a chance for both of us to try different things at a reasonable price. The popcorn chicken appetizer was flavorful and crisp. We liked the Kyushu Tonkotsu Shio Ramen the best out of our ramen choices. Also added a taro bubble tea and loved the strong taro flavor. My new go-to ramen shop when I'm in Wichita!

I'm starting this review prior to visiting this restaurant and will adjust accordingly. The other reviews are mixed and we're somewhat reluctant expect the ambiance looks amazing. In reviewing the online menu, I was SHOCKED to see that there is a $1.50 charge for chili oil - isn't this a condiment like ketchup and mustard.....that's ridiculous and the prime reason I'm starting this review early. That is true nickel and dimming the patrons. We'll see how this goes in person.....

I love the aesthetics of this restaurant. I've dined at this restaurant in another city, and the vibes are the same. When I went here, lunch service was a little slow but I wasn't in a hurry anyway. I really liked the Yakitori Platter (skewers). I also had the Katsuobushi Ramen. The broth was good, but not very memorable. I'll be back next time to try more appetizers!

Had the spicy tonkatsu ramen and it was delicious. Had right amount of noodles, meat, and spice. Highly recommend with another side of pork chasu. The ambiance was really awesome and I felt like I was back in Japan with the private eating options. Service was also really good. This is a must try!

The food was great and the waitstaff was so attentive! No booze, though. Hubs had the Yin/Yang bowl, he loved it. Relaxing atmosphere!

As with their other restaurant, Sapporo, Lee and her husband knocked this out of the part. The food is delicious, the service is immaculate and the ambiance blows you away. I felt like was at a real ramen bar in Japan. I got the combo meal, and the ramen, pork bun and dessert were all delicious. Prices were great too, under $20 and I could barely walk out I was so stuffed. Pro tip, if you throw back your bowl of ramen and have a red label at the bottom of the bowl, you can win free stuff. I wasn't so lucky, but I've now sent three coworkers to go test their luck. If you like ramen, unique dining experiences and boba tea, this is the place for you!

This was such a happy surprise! We were headed to a new Korean restaurant where you cook at your own table, but that place had a one hour wait. So, we decided to try this little ramen joint instead. And we were all glad we did! To start, the pan fried dumpling was light, fluffy, and packed with flavor. I had the #6 (hot) and from the first bite to the last, my tastebuds rejoiced! My daughters had the #3 and the chicken ramen, respectively. Due to the condition of their bowls (drained to the last drop), I'd say they enjoyed theirs as well. I also appreciated the ambience. As you go further back into the restaurant, there are lovely little nooks where you can have some privacy while you eat. Overall, we give Kyuramen a definite two thumbs up!(Unfortunately, we were so intent on consuming mass quantities that I didn't get a chance to take a picture of any of our dishes, lol!)You definitely should try this place. I think you'll be glad you did. :-)
