Kobe's Japanese Steakhouse

Great place to take the family, especially teenagers. Staff was friendly and helpful. Food was delicious and prepared as ordered. Only hiccup was the seating time was running late from the reservation time. The place was packed on a Friday night.

After 2 weeks, I'm finally composed enough to not post purely out of emotion. My son turned 16 and to celebrate we took 4 teenage boys to Kobe for dinner. This will mostly explain our $330.00 bill, which btw is not an issue. The issue is - we were hardly allowed time to enjoy the very expensive meal we had just paid for. Before I could even ask the boys how their food was, or if they enjoyed the show, we were being told we had to box up our food. This is a huge issue for me, as it has become more and more obvious over the last 2ish years that the management at Kobe values money over customer service. Now, as far as our dinners, the food was amazing, as always. Our chef was tremendous. We had a wonderful experience AFTER being seated 45 minutes past our reservation time and BEFORE we were forced to box our meals. For measurement sake we were served our sorbet before the chef had left the table and my husband notes it was no longer than 5 more minutes after the sorbet drop that our meals were being boxed. I explicitly told the box boy "I just started" to which he responded "we have to get everyone in and out." I'm terribly unhappy with the experience. Mostly, I'm disappointed that a very expensive birthday meal was not allowed to be enjoyed because the management puts money above family and quality customer service. Additionally, diners should know that parties of 6 or more will have a large, mandated, tip added to your total bill. This did not bother us much, but it's nice to know ahead of time that you'll have this pre-added to the total bill. To the chefs at Kobe, thank you. You've been phenomenal every time we have dined with you. To the management at Kobe, do better. Patrons deserve to enjoy a meal with their loved ones no matter the occasion, especially with the current economy. Again, it is not about the cost of our diner (and a wonderful show) but for perspective, had we dined at either of the other hibachi grill experiences in town or even something as elegant as Chester's we could have fed the whole crew for the same amount of money without being forced to box our plates and leave before our meals were even enjoyed. People will start looking for better deals once they experience being rushed out like we did. There were 2 more people at our table who mentioned the food was an awesome but they will never return, because they had no time to enjoy their dinner or each other on their 2nd anniversary night. You owe it to your wonderful chefs to revaluate your values and make the appropriate adjustments to prove that your customers are important, valued, and respected.

Kobe is one of my favorite spots-- and I love that it's great for groups! You just have to make sure you plan ahead and make reservations whether it's just a date night or for a group dinner. We always have a great time when we dine here. The portions are plentiful and this is one of the places where I look forward to having leftovers because it still tastes great the next day. The filet and salmon is my usual order and I can't forget about the tasty sauces!! I can't wait to eat there again.

Reservation highly recommended since it is a happening place. Even with reservation, we still had to wait 15 min to be seated. Before you reserve, just beware that you will be seated with strangers in a table. Customer service was good. We said Onion as food allergy. Even though they cooked it separate, they use the same utensils to serve you. Both people in my group got sick. I know it is the food not being cooked all the way. Within an hour after eating, I was throwing up. I wanted to really like this place after so many years wanting to try the food but I was disappointed. I felt they rushed to cook the food since many people are waiting. The shrimp was slimy and salmon full of teriyaki sauce. The beef was hard to chew and not seasoned well. Our cook was entertaining but I am scared to even try the food again. For the price, I was not impressed.

The food is amazing, the service is unmatched, and the place is clean and inviting! I love coming here, and it is hands down the best hibachi style restaurant I've ever been to. Our Chef put on a real show!

I would give this place 10 stars if I could! Service was great from the bar to when we sat down for dinner! The food was delicious! Seasoned and cooked to perfection. Their garlic fried rice along was 10 stars for me it was sooo good! I ordered chicken, steak and scallops. Next time I'm back in Wichita I will for sure be back here!

Always loved this restaurant and the chill atmosphere! Food & cocktails tastes great every single time we go, just wish they had sushi. It's packed whatever day you decide to go, so be sure to set a reservation.

Food is great! Cooks are great! The host staff are rude and unhelpful. The host staff are bad enough that I don't think I'll go back. Made a reservation then waited 2hours.

Great food, great show from the chef. Rice didn't come until we were almost through with the entrees. And hurried out after sorbet. Our children were well behaved. What did we do wrong? Didn't read the reviews...
