Kimlan Sandwiches

Stopped by yesterday to get a banh mi, crispy egg rolls and some spring rolls. They were empty which is sad because this place has THE best banh mi and spring rolls in town. The girls working were so sweet and answered our questions about the different banh mi as well as questions about the desserts they have. They have pho too and it's the perfect weather for it. Next time I stop by I think I'll try the fried rice. The menu says it's about $10 & from the size of the portion I saw someone eating I'd say that it's a deal! Kimlan deserves some love from the city so please give them a try!

I've been wanting to try this place. I've read many really good reviews! So, on my day off today, after waking up from a nap, I was hungry! I first thought about getting a burger from one of our local burger places. Then I remembered Kimlan! I looked them up to find their hours and had only 30 minutes to get there! I'm about 20 minutes away. So I flew out the door! Fortunately I made it on time!I was torn between the Banh Mi Thit Nuong: thinly sliced pork marinated in lemongrass-soy dressing, no mayo. Or the Banh Mi Xa Xiu: sliced Chinese bbq pork. Both come with picked carrots, jalapeno, cilantro, cucumber and mayo (on the Banh Mi Xa Xiu). They were out of the Banh Mi Thit Nuong so that settled my decision!It was really, really delicious!!! Absolutely loved it. I bought 2 so I'd have one for work lunch tomorrow. Glad I did. The bread is light, airy and crunchy. My one issue, which was the reason for just 4 stars, was that IMO, it could have used more meat. I thought it was kind of sparse. Although at just $3.50 for a very decently sized sandwich, it was alright. I ate it at home and added some chicken breast I had. I also ordered some Crispy Egg Rolls ($2.00 for 3) which I would refer to as Spring Rolls (the smaller, thin wrapped rolls), with the fish sauce dipping sauce. They were also good. Typical Spring Rolls. So, all in all, I was very pleased with my meal! I will definitely go back! I want to try the one that they were out of tonight. Also have to try their Bun Thit Nuong Cha Goo: grilled pork & egg roll vermicelli ($6.75). That is one of my favorites! Their prices are incredibly reasonable!

Omg! I will definitely be going again. It is super down to Earth, but the food was amazing. AND YOU CANT BEAT THE PRICES

Everyone in my party ordered a #3 bahn mi sandwich. They were very likely the best we've ever had. They were large with fresh, crusty bread and full of wonderful ingredients. We also got a mango and a strawberry bubble tea. They were delicious--sweet and dessert-y but not too sweet. Service was friendly. Definitely go.

Great banh mi. Great boba. Great prices. we were very happy with our meal and will surely come back.

The only complaint from my crew was the small quantity of meat on our sandwiches. When we return I will request double meat... that said the prices are so reasonable. Where else can you get a sandwich for less than 6 dollars?! Our food came out quickly and the spring roll's really stood out. It's a hot day and the fresh vegetables on the sandwiches was so refreshing. The bread is crisp on the outside and soft inside with delicious flavor. The woman at the counter brought our food out to us and was very nice. The fish tank was strangely loud be we enjoyed watching red bull Clif diving while we ate. It was pretty empty on a Sunday around 3. We got the #6, 9, &10. I think 6 was the best.

I do enjoy their wonton soup. Broth is kinda sweet for my taste but the wonton itself is good. For the price it is pricey for $10 for only like 5-6 small bite sized. I would still come back here for this dish. As for the bánh mì itself, I think it's okay but not something to rave about.

Really great sandwiches at great prices. I would recommend the #3 marinated pork sandwich for your first time in. The bread can be hit or miss depending on the freshness of the batch, but you can't beat their prices. Will continue to be one of my regular lunch spots.
