Kansas Kollection

I love this store. I'm a Kansas native, living elsewhere now. Kansas Kollection has every kitchy thing you could hope for in a Kansas-themed store, as from the slightly tacky to the full of university pride to the beautiful and unique.It's where I bought beautiful wheat weavings as bridal party gifts and I often order other custom weavings as gifts for friends.Their online storefront could use some work - it feels like the early 2000s. Clunky and hard to navigate. I couldn't even find their hours online. (sigh) But do yourself a favor and just go to the store. Or call. It's worth your time.

I'm not going to do my usual format here because, well, I wasn't actually shopping for anything. The store seemed neat, clean and stocked with a variety of goods - all related to things Kansas like K State or KU... What really set this place apart was the adorable young lady working there. My friend and I were standing outside trying to finish our ice cream before coming in - so as not to drip on the carpet or anything. She must have been a little lonely (not many customers in the mall that night), or just very friendly, because she let us come in anyway and engaged in some interesting conversation. If all the staff are as nice as her then this must be a good place to shop and/or work. Talking with her almost made me wish I was living near Manhattan ;)
