JT Travel Plaza

Ok I didn't eat here, but if you're like me JT Travel Plaza sounded like a truck stop. I know they have good food, so I waited on lunch till we could get there. To my disappointment, it's a little quick shop with a little (deli?) next door. Do for you who think like me, you might wanna pass. I think it's named wrong. Went to Golden Corral at the same exit, so it worked out.

The parking lot is super tight which is hard when you are towing to maneuver. There are about 6 gas pumps and if there is another set of extended vehicles/towing vehicles you end up having to drive on a gravel pit adjacent to this gas station near the hotel. It's kind of a mess. The convenience store is small and there is no hot or freshly prepared food even though there are refrigerated cases for this- the cases are completely empty. There are signs all over the fountain drink machine about charges for cups, ice, etc. When I say signs, I mean a bunch of signs repeated over and over about the cost of everything- it is a bit obnoxious. There is supposed to be a taco place adjacent/connected to this Travel Plaza and there is a window in the travel plaza convenience store where I guess you would be able to order tacos. This is all shut down/closed. The whole experience is weird. Hays KS is large and there are lots of gas stations and convenience stores- I would go somewhere else. In addition, this location is not an easy on and off I-70 Highway

Drivers beware. Called a travel plaza, but there is no truck parking. Sandwich shop closes at 9pm. Not a travel plaza really

This place is sooo much better than most of your fast food places, it's like in a whole different league. Great food and great service and clean.

I'm a frequent traveler to DENVER from East Kansas and hays is always one of my main stops for food/gas. The first time I decided to stop here rather than my normal stop and I was barely impressed. The bathroom was cleaner than most but other than that it wasn't great. The young girl working the counter didn't even notice me walk in cause she was too busy facebooking, you know how millenniums are. The gas prices were higher than my usual stop and every other gas station near by. Had to pay an extra 10 cents cause I used my card. Decided I needed to give it another chance by trying Schlotzskys and using Cash for gas. Yet, again the bathroom was clean. Yet, again the girl at the counter (this time a much older lady) was glued to her phone but at least was decent enough to manage a "hello". (No wonder the millennium was on her phone. Look at her example) Finally get over to the Schlotzskys, the guy that took my order was ok, not much personality but friendly, the food was decent and came out in a good amount of time.

Delicious sandwiches. Affordable. Very friendly staff. My friends and I will definitely go again.

The service was absolutely awful. All of the "teenagers" working there spent more time on their cell phones and paying attention to any customers. I want to Diet Coke but their machine was out so she said she get it from drive-through and never came back. Food was cold tasteless and I was pretty hungry so it's hard to disappoint.but they did in a major way. Lots of places to eat and Hays put this at the bottom of your list

I've been here not once but twice trying to give it a second chance, but that was a mistake, not only did it take them too long to bring my food while it was slow, they were out of condiments and when I went to ask for some I overheard a manager yelling at the employees. I am not the only one that has had a bad experience, several of my friends and family members were not impressed either. Next time we will just go to subway. Be professional.
