We purchased four trees from Johnson's last spring. We were told the pine tree we purchase was "fast growing". We were told by the guy helping us that we also needed to buy a root stimulate solution. He selected the one for us to buy and we did. One year later, our pine tree was dead. I called to inquire about the return policy (most garden centers allow up to one year for plant/tree returns). I was told it could not be returned unless we had purchased a root stimulate called Mike (?) at the time of our tree purchase. I told her we purchased the one we were told to get by the salesmen. She was quite rude and would not except any responsibility or help in any way. We had to dig up the tree and throw it away. I will not waste my time or money again.

Johnson's is a good place to check the basic gardening products. Their staffs are friendly and you see more female staffs than any other stores. I like Kaw Nations that supports women's activities, same as my family. But, I see 13th street neighborhood is becoming more like Bullish, rather than being Kaw. There are some guys chasing local women just to annoy them, and it is sad to see things getting changed this way. Visiting this neighborhood with your husband or friends is a good idea.

Our first ever visit to Johnson's was on January 2. We are fairly new to the area and had heard rave reviews. Well the folks working in the shop that day, did not disappoint. I believe they all like working there because our experience with 4 different employees was the same as what I expect from my employees when they interact with our clients. I hope to do more business there in the future. I did find some really nice Chritmas stuff at a great price. Can't wait until Spring comes to see what they offer, then.

With the pandemic and supply issues everywhere, I thought I had found Bonide Liquid Cactus food at Johnson's online. As it turned out, they were out of the product, so Kelly emailed me to let me know. She asked if I wanted to keep my order on file for when the product came back in stock. Kelly was awesome! She kept in contact with me throughout the wait of probably a year?? to see if I still wanted to wait. It finally came back in stock and she contacted me immediately! If I lived in KS I'd definitely frequent this garden center. Fantastic customer service! Way to go Kelly!

Be sure to examine all the plants in a sixpack of annuals. Should you be planting and find rotten or missing plant pods all Johnson's garden management will say is ,"well this didn't happen overnight. You are correct, you Johnson's didn't do your job. What has happened to customer service?

Just got off the phone from Colorado. Erica at JGC listened patiently to my story about my 94-yr-old mother in Wichita needing some additional mulch for her garden and being unable to locate the brand she had already used. Erica located the mulch at her store, made arrangements to have 2 bags delivered to my mother's home and took my credit card info for billing. She was friendly, kind, helpful, understanding and took care of my concerns quickly and efficiently. Just another reason our family has used the West 13th nursery for over 50 years!Thank you SO MUCH.
