Jimmie's Diner

Me and my family decided to go to Jimmie's diner for dinner but we left unsatisfied I ordered a burger and it came out burnt and we ordered a corn dog but that came out as hard as a rock 0 out of 10 I won't recommend. Hopefully it gets better.

Everything was very yummy. The selection was nice but not so big it was overwhelming. And the atmosphere was very chill and laid back.

When I first moved to Wichita, this was called Toc's. I was fascinated by the shape of the building and the location at a busy intersection. When I heard it had become a Jimmie's Dinner, I was looking forward to eating there even more.Inside, the place looks like a 50's blast from the past. It is old and worn, charming because the ladies wear the poodle skirt outfits while the men wear the white shirt, black pants and little white hats. Everyone is friendly and eager to please, even when an elderly couple across from us made outrageous demands. Down to business.We had all-you-can-eat pancakes. Hubby had a side if eggs. Turns out we only needed two pancakes, as they covered the entire plate! The waitress brought an extra bowl of warned butter, which we applied generously!Plenty of syrup to drown the pancakes in. We are leaving full and happy!

Joni was absolutely amazing! Amazing chicken fried steak, and the milkshake with chocolate shavings is to die for. Come here and request Joni if you want prompt, hospitable, and accommodating service! If I lived in the area, this would be my go to for good old fashion diner food.

I'm not one to leave reviews often. If i do, it's for a reason. No matter how often I ask for this place to not give me eggs, they send eggs. I like the rest of the food, so I order again. However, at this point I'm done. It's either a service issue or a petty disregard for preferences. Either way, I'm not continuing to pay for it. It's ridiculously easy to not add eggs to a meal. And no, I don't want a response from management. I don't want an offer to do better. I just want to leave my thoughts and be done.

Started out smoothly when giving my order. Two simple sandwiches and two drinks. The time it took to get our meal wasn't expected. Apparently, an empty coffee cup ranks importance in this establishment. The menu prices might seem fair in this economy, but the tip will not be. The other side of the coin is that "regular" customers get their food first. Our first visit will be our last. Comments on the food and ambiance will not contribute much to this reviewer's rating. What used to be an old school restaurant back "in the day" turned out to be a joke today.

Took my girl here yesterday had to tell the waitress my order 3 times Denver scramble bacon and toast my girl got 2 eggs over easy bacon and dollar cakes the food was all cold...not even hot enough to melt the shredded cheese on my scramble. Waitress said bacon is not one of their sides said there would be a slight upcharge took 90 cents off the regular price of it and when it came out it tasted how a house fire smells needless to say one bite and was spitting it in my napkin. So wrapping up our bill was 32 and some change for gross and cold food and a waitress that had her head in the clouds. Used to be one of my favorite places. But after the last couple times of going I don't think I'll be returning upon leaving my girl asked if we can go somewhere else next time. The cook/waitress should be ashamed of themselves for passing off food like that at such high prices and expecting people to enjoy their meal i was a better cook at 10 years old. Jimmie's diner is a great restaurant, the food is great the atmosphere is amazing but there is one thing I don't like and it's a waitress named Ethel.. when we first sat down we waited for 5 minutes for her to get to us and give us the menu and waited another 3 for her to get to us to ask us for our drinks, keep in mind it's not busy. Instead of getting our drinks she was talking to someone. I also want to mention we ate here last time and she took someone else's order who came in after us and when it came to pay she was hovering over me to see how much I would tip.

So disappointed. Ordered biscuits and gravy, 2 sausage links, and hash browns for pick up. The sausage links were burnt, as was one of the biscuits. It looked like they threw the bad stuff in a box and gave it to curbside to avoid someone sending it back.

Since coming back after a few unpleasant visits I will say the lunch staff is so much better! They are very attentive abd take care of their tables. I will say the breakfast/lunch time has good servers!
