I brought in 3 pairs of Chelsea style boots for "restoration" (more than just a shine) and they did an amazing job. They did charge $25 per pair.

You get what you pay.......and what I mean is I was a little taken back at their pricing for a shoe shine.......so I won't call it that as it was a "reconditioning".....the difference like putting wax on your car vs taking in to a detail shop for a buff and and wax. They have a $25 2-step (which I tried on three pairs) and a $45-three step. I was very pleased with the $25 reconditioning. It was going to be almost two weeks with the holiday to get them back to me, but got all three pairs back in four days. I will be back.

I took my Coach handbag to have the little pieces of leather replaced that holds the straps to the silver rings. It was my first and last time there. They required that I pay $50 up front when I left it. I picked it up today and was very disappointed. First of all, the strap was sewn on twisted. I pointed it out to the guy and at first he argued with me. I showed him and he just said it was a crazy strap. He acted irritated that I wasn't happy with it and finally he said, just leave it and I'll fix it and you can pick it up tomorrow. Well, I also noticed that the sewing was very crooked and uneven so I said, that's okay. I didn't want it screwed up even more. When I got to the car, I took a better look at it and he'd broken one of the silver rings and replaced it with one that didn't even match the ones on the handbag. There was no reason for him to mess with the metal hardware since he was putting new leather pieces on it to connect the strap to the hardware. I wouldn't have minded paying the $50 even tho I thought it was pricey, if it had been fixed professionally. NOT. The more I thought about it later that evening, the more upset I got. I feel like he owes me for screwing up my handbag, but instead, I'm out $50 for a crappy job. He needs to find another profession. He certainly don't know how to fix a handbag. I will NEVER, NEVER, EVER BE BACK and I'll be sure to advertise what kind of work they do. I talked to a guy named Keith when I left it. Maybe he could have done a better job than this clown did.

Jack Smiths East location mishap may have been my fault but the West location confirmed that better customer service would have earned them a life long customer.Recently finding used european shoes online a significantly better deal than new sneakers every year I found myself in need of a cobbler. Jack Smith came highly recommended. When one of the toes on my Campers blew out I decided to try Jack Smiths east location. I spoke with a gentleman inside the shop and inquired about repairing to which he confidently said they could. Paying up front is standard and posted upon entry. During the credit card transaction I asked if that shoe could be sewn back together. He gave it a glance and nodded yes.Returning two days later I was disappointed to find my shoe had been glued back together. I asked the person at the desk (not the man I initially spoke with) why it was not sewn back together to which she responded "They're not stitched." Pointing out the obvious stitching it was clear her disappointment to find out the customer was right. I came back two days later to a freshly stitched toe with glue still smeared on the front, marring an otherwise very attractive dress shoe. The toe blew out of my other shoe (the previous shoes counterpart) which gave me an opportunity to try their west branch and be more direct in my request. Again, you have to pay upfront. While signing the credit card slip I was clear about preferring to have the shoe sewn over being glued to which the woman behind the counter agreed to do. Returning two days later I was very upset to find a shoe glued, not stitched, and asked why it was not stitched to which the man behind the counter said "It can't be stitched." I argued, he looked more closely and said come back in two days. I asked if they could remove the glue mess on the shoe to which he responded, "Do you want me to stitch it or not?" I said stitch it and before I requested again for the glue to be cleaned off he stormed to the back.I picked up the restitched and glue smeared euro-dress-shoe 2 days later. I will not return.

I was distraught because the boots I have worn everyday for years were starting to fall apart. The soles were falling off and I wanted to get them repaired/replaced. I've heard good things from friends about Jack's so I figured I'd give it a shot. They ask to pay in advance due to some issues with people not picking up their shoes after being repaired in the past. So I managed without my trusty boots for a few days. When I got them back they were better than ever before! Not only do my boots now have new, solid, sturdy soles, they even repaired a boot strap that had come undone and oiled my boots. They look almost brand new. I look forward to wearing them for years to come thanks to Jack's. They went above and beyond my expectations.

I don't live in Wichita but have made separate trips to Jack Smith's for sole repair. Both times I have taken my favorite pair of leather shoes when the sole started to separate from the leather. Both times the work was done impeccably well!

These guys know their stuff! They were able to take one look at the messed-up zipper that blew out on a pair of tall boots of mine (I was in Wichita for the week, wearing them at a special event), and tell me exactly what the issue was. They showed me how they would repair it, quoted a price that was much lower than I expected, and had the fix done exactly when they said they would. They even called me to provide an update, which is above and beyond what I had expected, and since then, the zipper has held up perfectly since. I really couldn't ask for better service - I needed an emergency fix in a tight time frame, and they got it done.

I called 2-3 weeks ago about the cost of dying some boots. The lady told me $25. I thought that sounded pretty good. (There are two stores but they are the same company and I don't remember which store it was. I didn't think it would matter.)When I went in on a Friday and dropped the boots off to be dyed, the lady said that the cost was $45. I said I had called and I was told it was $25. She said that it was normally $45 but she would do it and she didn't know who I talked to. She took my $25 payment and my boots.Monday morning I get a call from a man and he says they charge $45 and they have not charged $25 in 15 years. He said he would give me my money back. I said I drove 2 hours round trip for his, the business said they would do it, and now you don't want to ? I told him I would come get the boots and my money back.I then called the other store back and asked the lady who answered if they dyed boots. She said, "Yes". I then asked her how much it was and she said, "$20- $40 depending on how much of the boot you want dyed."-- Now I am getting mad at this point.I called the man back who had told me they charge $45 and told him what the lady and JUST TOLD ME. He started to get rude to me and asked me when I would come get the boots. I told him the next time I would be in Wichita.I would NEVER recommend doing business here. If I had made the mistake, I would have not liked it, but it would have been my fault and I would have moved on.

Took a boot in to have the seam sewed up and PAID up front (of course), they require that, should have known that was a red flag right away, picked up the boot a week later, the most awful job I've ever seen!(E. HARRY location) when I went in I asked if it could be sewn right on the seem and they said "yes"! Well it wasn't! Even sewn with a white thread! And the boots are brown! Awful, NEVER GO BACK! So took to another shoe repair and said they could fix it RIGHT and HALF the cost! Wow!
