Very small free (donation) zoo. Had fun wandering around for 30 minutes. The glass isn't the greatest to see through but still enjoyed my time here. All animals looked very well taken care of.

This is a tiny zoo, but very sweet. They really don't have a lot, but what they do have is well-kept and fun. The animals and birds here are only those that are indigenous to Kansas--there's a small petting zoo area, a reptile house (Kansas seriously has too many snakes) and the best part of all which is the prairie dog exhibit. How cute are they? Under the exhibit are little tunnels that kids can climb into. Throughout the tunnels are glass domes that stick up in the middle of their exhibit so you can see them close up. You can probably get through this entire zoo in less than an hour...but it's free and a nice little detour in the center of Carey Park. It's worth the time!

This is a great beautiful place! It's free, so that's a plus. This is a great place to take little ones to or just an outing by yourself.

Cheap family fun. Maybe 10 people in the entire zoo when we went. It's small but that is to be expected. We rode the train and see every animal they had there. The Prairie Dogs where my personal favorite

This is one of the smallest zoos we've ever visited across the states. Its very charming & a nice place to bring the kids. There are plenty of areas to enjoy a picnic with various scenic views. After touring the exhibits there's a area where children can dig for fossils while parents relax close by.

This is a small, free zoo - but its been remodeling certain areas and is well worth any trip. Its contains 3 different endangered species (Black footed ferret, a incredibly small owl and fox) all which can only be seen in our country at this zoo and a handful of others. I really commend them on having these animals - its hard to get the certification to have them. Its a very special zoo - the otter exhibit is completely awesome, best time to see the ferret is when it opens or right before the zoo closes (although sometimes you can see it sleeping in the log good enough for a picture. The also have Bald Eagles which now are kinda at alot of zoos, but you will never get as close as you can at this zoo - literally like 3 feet from a bald eagle - its amazing. When I moved here 2 years ago I had no idea the zoo had a black footed ferret (the most endangered mammal in the world) its was a life goal for me to just see one in person (never thought that would happen) and then came to Hutch and there is one sitting in their zoo. Its amazing (told my husband I would have moved here solely based on being able to see the ferret -even if we were homeless). So of course our little girl adopted the ferret at the zoo and we see it every chance we get. Ok so to sum up, its free - its awesome - its a must see especially for any zoo enthusiasts - One of the best zoos in the country (and I have been to at least half in the USA)
