I've been going here for 2+ decades and have never had any problems with doctors or staff. I've found them to be friendly, professional and responsive. They have the BEST phlebotomists in town; if you're a hard stick they can get it, no problem. I like Hillside Medical so much that I continue to drive east to go there even though we live west. I also take all my kids there, and have recommended them to others who have switched and been happy. I was surprised to read the other reviews. I've been going there for 25 (or more) years and have had no problems. I will say it's an older building and not fancy; if granite counter tops and decorator waiting rooms are important to you, this isn't your place. If solid, caring people and treatment are your thing, this is your place. The one complaint I have is it's hard to get through in the phone. I usually wait for at least 5 minutes on hold, then wait for a call back, etc.

I had been a patient at this facility for 25 years but didn't need to see my physician often as I am healthy. I went to a specialist for a minor issue and when they ask me who to send my report to they told me that my physician had retired a YEAR ago!!! What a way to find out that you no longer have a primary physician!! I called their office and asked if I could see a specific doctor in their office and they told me no, that all of my doctors patients would have to see some new physician. I am done with this office!!! VERY unprofessional!

I saw a doctor here for THREE years. He failed to diagnose me with TWO chronic conditions. Avoid this office and all family medicine at all costs! If you go here, READ YOUR FILE. Log into the patient portal and see what's in your notes and what they've been saying about you. I found out too late that my doctor was just making notes about me without discussing them with me FOR THREE YEARS as my health declined. The notes were irrelevant to the TWO conditions he failed to diagnose in me. He should have referred me to a specialist rather than trying to practice medicine outside his scope of practice. If you go here, read your doctor's notes! See what he REALLY thinks of you and your health. And if you go here, GET OUT before he damages your health FOR YEARS. To say they are incompetent would be too kind. I wasn't going to leave a review and try to take the high road, but I've had it with medical practices making mistakes and not doing their job. Please also understand that family medicine isn't the same as having a proper primary care physician. This practice relies on volume. They rush you in and out. I changed to an internal medicine doctor who takes time to see me as a whole person. This doctor? You're lucky to get eye contact when he walks in the room! The whole time, he doesn't do anything but documentation. He cares more about that than listening to you. He's not paying ATTENTION. He's not thinking critically about your care. He's just taking notes to stay compliant. He just sees you as a number so they can hit volume. He needs to retire. His residents helped me more than he ever did. RUN, don't walk away from this practice!

I've gone here for about 30 years. My dr recently retired because of a medical issue. The manager was asked to send out letters to his patients, but NONE went out. Then they took his name off the sign and put in the new drs names BEFORE he was even gone. I only knew about his retirement because I happen to have made an appt his last week. I recently called my pharmacy to get a prescription refill as HMO has all of my records. The pharmacy sent a request 3 times. The Manager's (if you can call them that) response was to ignore the request. Nothing sent to the pharmacy, nor was I informed of anything. No phone call, email, text. I would not go back to that office for anything. It wouldn't matter how great the doctors are. To leave patients without a way to get their prescriptions filled and no notice that their doctor retired is egregious, in my humble opinion. I know I'm not the only one affected. Think of your 80 year old grandmother encountering this issue. Don't go to HMO. Find an office that puts PATIENTS first because HMO does not.

Scheduling is easy, you can call in or send a message via patient portal. Front desk has been nothing but friendly and helpful.

Very impressed with staff and my new doctor! I had seen my previous primary care doc. for over 20 years, so it was a tough transition for me. Everyone (save one) has been very pleasant and accommodating. Lab and records are great, too! The office manager is young and new, and seems to be piloting things quite well. I gave a 5 star rating in spite of one staff member, because I don't believe that his issues will be tolerated very long. This individual is very demeaning and dismissive, and does not listen to patients concerns or needs. I have seen this happen 3 times now (twice with, others.) (Mind you, I have only been in the office 4 times.) He, as a receptionist, was willing to make determinations about what medical information and reports the doctor would be interested in, as well as claiming that "they did not have the equipment" to view CT scans on a disc. I took the disc home and popped it in a 7 year old, Windows 7 OS desk top and was able to view the material myself. He also claimed that they would have the reports from the scans even though I explained to him that the imaging facility told me otherwise, as the scans were not ordered by a doctor at this facility. Granted, it was late in the day when this occurred, but all I was trying to do was drop off info relevant to an upcoming appointment. Other staffers I have dealt with have been willing to work to criteria; get the job done. So, I believe this to be an isolated incident involving a specific individual that I do not find to be representative of this office. But, again, overall, this place is run very well.
