Heartland animal hospital is the only veterinarian we have ever gone to since our 1st puppy in 1999 and most likely our last. The doctors, Dr. Bill and Dr. Gary, the other doctors and the entire staff have gone out of their way for our pets. I highly recommend this veterinarian hospital!

Didn't think it could get worse? It does. My dog has been hopping on 3 legs recently so we made him an appt with his vet at Heartland. Well, it's rather amazing how incompetent the veterinarian is here. He took expensive tests and x-rays, misdiagnosed my dog, gave my dog medicine he did not need (and obviously did not help him) and as icing on the cake, told us that soon my dog would be able to walk out of the exam room! My dog walks (okay hops) but the vet wasn't even paying attention. I'm only glad that we refused the dangerous and expensive steroid shots that the vet recommended for my dog. I had a horrible feeling about the whole experience and with a second opinion and subsequent x-rays my family discovered the real health problem with my dog. He is getting the right treatment now and getting better. We will never take him back to Heartland. FYI apparently malpractice against veterinarians is costly and therefore, rare. It is important to watch for clinics like Heartland who only have a bottom line. In the past few years they have expanded their doggy day care (where they make the most money) while neglected the hospital. I urge you to take your animals elsewhere and boycott this place.

I am writing this review primarily for the doggie daycare portion of the animal hospital. I take my little Staffordshire Terrier Layla there weekly. She goes and always has a blast. It is great since the play n stay staff have activities for the dogs and take great care of the animals while they are there. If it wasn't for the play and stay I don't know how else I would have managed to get Layla socialized.I have had limited contact with the Veternarian staff, however they have been courteous and helpful with their advise. On the one instance that she had an allergic reaction to a bug bite, the vet erred on the side of caution and made the right call. A week later the bug bit disappeared.

It is one of the nicest clinics I have walked into. I love that the waiting area is equipped with beverages and goodies for both me and my pets. The receptionists are friendly and acknowledge I'm there as soon as I walk in the door.I first started coming to Heartland because I saw their sign driving to and from work. I was new to the area and thought I would give it a try. I'm so glad I did! I had just gotten a puppy and brought him in for his first visit. They gave me a price sheet so I knew exactly what to expect cost wise. Everyone praised Boomer as soon as I walked in the door. They took his picture and my wait time was not too bad. I know at my doctors office I wait for at least 30 mins. We got into the room and the technician took a full history of Boomer. She asked me questions I hadn't even thought of! The doctor came in shortly after and was very friendly, compassionate, and thorough. Other than an ear infection I wasn't aware of, there were no surprise fees. I'm overall very happy with the clinic and staff and Boomer is too! They are a large facility but they exceeded my expectations.

I can't recommend Heartland enough. My small pup fell off the bed and has a spinal injury, causing paralysis in her back legs and tail. The other places we visited before finding Heartland told us to expect poor outcomes and to be prepared for the worst. Dr. Schroeder took time to explain what we could do, how to care for our dog, and recommend different treatments and therapies we could have done there under her care. She remained hopeful and gave me hope that I had yet to receive anywhere else. After being told by an urgent care my dog would "more than likely never walk again", she is already able to wag her tail and is starting to try to move her legs after just a few visits at Heartland. We can't thank the staff enough for giving our girl the best care we could ever ask for, and I'm forever grateful for their help on this journey.

Had an emergency with my Goldendoodle on 10.10.2022. Logically I called his vet at 6:00 PM asking if I could bring him to be seen. He had a bone stuck around his bottom jaw and his tongue was also trapped. I thought he would drown due to his saliva flow which was like a faucet. Heartland Animal Hospital told me they could not see my furbaby. I was reminded that they close at 7:00 PM and they could not see my baby! I said it was 6:00 PM the lady on the phone said what do you want me to do! I said you can see my dog. The response was we can't; bring him to Urgent Pet Care on Greenwich Road. I said but you are his Vet. She gave me the Urgent Pet Cares telephone number. I called Urgent Pet Care & was told to come on down. They had the bone removed as soon as he relaxed enough by being sedated. I was home by 7:00 PM. Boy, Heartland Animal Hospital are real POS! Time to find a new Vet after almost 7 years. Any recommendations would be welcomed! You need to read the response! https://us.nextdoor.com/news_feed/?post=242503012

I had an emergency with my dog as she was choking and not responding. I ran her to Heartland as I knew she needed immediate attention. Right away the receptionist took her back to a vet tech who helped my dog, took her vitals and came out to let me know she was okay. I have never been here before but they still, kindly and genuinely, cared for my dog. I couldn't be more thankful to them and appreciate their help. I believe I found a new vet!

Pet owner beware. Yes, I felt like they were expensive. Yes, I felt they recommended more procedures than were necessary. I still kept taking my German Shepherd to them thinking this was the price you pay for great care. Wrong. One summer, I followed their FREQUENT recommendation to clean my girl's teeth. After this procedure, she was never the same. I kept taking her back and back because she could hardly get up or walk. The Dr. had previously said her hips were great so that wasn't the problem. It was finally diagnosed that she had hurt some nerves in her back and that the vet who did the teeth cleaning had put her on her back during the procedure. Ultimately, the pain and injury was so bad, we had to put her down. Furious at the malpractice.

Heartland Animal Hospital and the Play-n-Stay facility are both AWESOME!!! I've been using them for our primary care since the doors opened on both facilities and have had nothing but exceptional experiences. Over the years, they have taken care of 5 cats and 2 dogs for us.....start of life to the sad end of life. The professionalism and care shown at every stage of our pet's lives continues to exceed our expectations. Three of the cats have been adopted through their program as well, and all were healthy little fur babies!!!
