They came out and told me that another quote I had at $2400 was high-- then a week went by without hearing from them or getting a quote, so I called. They said the district manager, Zack, would call me, but he never did. Then I received a quote by email for a whopping $7,000.00s AND they wrote that this would NOT gaurentee that I would not have issues when it rains. They gave me no sketch, they did not show where the labor fees are, and it has been 8 days since they said the first time that I would receive a call back that day, nor did they bother to reply to my email which was polite. If this isn't a red flad, I don't know what is!

If this is the same place that moved to harker heights near the high school then I can not recommend it enough!! I don't know much about gardening and had plenty of questions. One of the guys (I wish I would have asked his name) actually walked around with me, giving me ideas and suggestions on whatever I showed interest in. I explained about the difficulty I had last year with my mint plants and he gave me step by step instructions on how to get my plants growing. He even carried my heavier items out to my truck for me. All of their plants look healthy and beautiful, and the prices are amazing. I'll never go to the larger places again. It was nice to not have to search for help and nice to know the person I spoke to knew what they were talking about. I can't say enough great things about this place!!!

I paid $1500 to have Harker Heights Nursery & Garden Center (AKA The Guys with Green Shoes)"fix" my grass. They are located at the corner of FM 2410 & Warriors Path. They came out and evaluated the lawn and said that the soil needed to be aerated, then compost added to the soil and that the weeds needed to be controlled. They showed up and aerated the yard and spread compost on the lawn. They informed me to follow the watering schedule they provided. I was further advised to mow my lawn twice weekly and to bag the grass. They said I should notice "significant improvement" in the lawn in 2-3 weeks. I followed the instructions and indeed the grass became thicker, however so did the weeds. At weeks 3-4 I contacted the company and advised them that I was very unhappy with the results and that my yard was still full of weeds. I told them that I would not pay the remaining balance of $700 unless they agreed to fulfill the promise to make my grass thick and weed/bug free. I was advised by the representative that had I read the email he sent me I would know that it stated they would come out after four weeks and apply the weed control product. I reviewed that email and it contained nothing of the sort. He then stated that as soon as I paid the remaining balance they would finish the treatment. I paid the remaining balance and they stated they would be out on or around July 10th. Today, July 17th, 2012, I contacted the company because my yard is literally being taken over by weeds. The representative informed me that they had already come out on July 10th and that they had finished their work on my lawn. I distinctly remember that on July 10th, 2012 it rained most of the day. I had been told that rain would delay the weed treatment due to washing away the product, and since it was raining I assumed that was why the weed treatment had not been completed. Upon contacting the company today and being told that they were "done" with my lawn I was very upset. The representative told me that it was not their problem if the rain washed away the weed control product and that maybe the weeds were a result of the rain. To some extent I agree about the rain being beyond their control, however it was clearly forecasted to rain on the 10th and rained the majority of the day...so when was the treatment done and WHY would you complete a treatment on a day when it is clearly going to rain. I firmly believe that the treatment was never completed as my yard has worsened significantly in the past week. The customer service and communication from this place is awful, as is their work. We have now spent $1500 and have a yard that is no doubt green and thick...however the majority of the vegetation is not grass it is weeds. DO NOT USE HARKER HEIGHTS NURSERY or you will be very disappointed. If you have questions drive contact me by email at [email protected] and I will be happy to provide you with more information or let you come look at my lawn to see for yourself.

I would not recommend the nursery. We went before it opened and ordered 2 large trees . They took our name and number and told us they would call us. On opening weekend we came buy to ask about Shawn the trees would be here. There was a misinformation given about the trees being planted for free. It was 25 gallon and under. I was disappointed that i was given wrong information . But I was even more dissatisfied that the manager was extremely rude,When I asked her after waiting 3 weeks , why the trees haven't arrived yet. Another 4weeks past. When I called again and talked to the manager in the phone, she was rude nice again, saying she didn't know when the trees would be here. We ordered these trees in the end of march, it is now 2nd week of may. The manager rudely passed me off to someone else to talk to. They have lost my business, I will buy from somewhere else. My surprise is why they won't sell trees to customers! I was willing to pay upfront for them. The customer service was horrible and do not recommend them to anyone.

It has taken me a long time to write this, a couple of months to be exact. I was literally traumatized behind the experience I had with these people. YOU WANT TO READ THIS!!!! I spoke to everyone about my experience within the business and only one woman cared enough to understand just where I was coming from yet and still I am STILL confused about what her position even is there since EVERYONE identified her by different titles. To my understanding, and according to her she is the office manager. Forgive me for issuing such an in depth review but it is VERY necessary. Things went from bad to worst very quickly. First of all I am deeply sorry to say that the first rep I came into contact with passed away days after meeting him, and in respect for his tragedy I wont elaborate on my experience with him although he was extremely nice it was obviously clear that the company's main focus is to make as much money as they can, and customer service is at the bottom of the list. I decided to have another estimate done after making some changes on my own to the things I really wanted and the estimate I received from the second rep was very much so a reasonable exchange considering what I wanted done although he turned out to be a total fraud. He ended up knowing nothing about what he was talking about and I didn't find out until I had already invested so much time and energy!! These people ran me around even after I had paid half of my estimate as required. After finding out that the first rep had died in the most absolute, disrespectful way, and further after trying to understand what position it placed the business in, because I grew impatient about not having an appointment after a week passed since I had paid half the bill, the supposed general manager whom I had spoken to over the phone after the week had passed, and also whom had given me an appointment in a matter of MINUTES with no times or details because he simply wanted to get me off the phone, decided to tell me that they just wanted to give me a refund so they could be done with my impatience and inability to accept that they were experiencing a tragedy with the loss of their ONE rep. This was said to me when i decided to just go in and speak with someone in person so that I could receive details in writing and express how unproffesional everyone was being, this was after I had realized all I got was a date from the general manager and nothing else. He was rude and arrogant as well as unconcerned about what I as a customer was experiencing as well as where MY frustration lied. At the peak of the disagreement that I had no energy to engage in I was left in tears and ended up receiving a phone call from my husband whom I was trying to surprise for R&R being that he was currently in Afghanistan, he called during the meeting. After speaking with my husband and calming down due to rational words from the office manager, the general manager placed salt on a wound by stating that I would want them to understand if something happened to my husband due to his whereabouts so they expected the same from me and according to him they were not feeling like that was being done. These people astounded me by their responses, they had my money, the rep I dealt with had been telling me he would call on plenty of occasions yet would never end up contacting me, would leave me on hold when i would call to inquire and now since I had a problem with it, I was the one that was wrong and being told to go elsewhere because I didn't agree with these unprofessional antics regardless of how shaken up and invested I already was. I had already spent so much time depending on an appointment date from these people and was worried that I would not find anyone to do the landscaping before my husband would return. I met with the owner after receiving an apology because they didn't even know that I wasn't a customer of the rep who passed away which was even more unbelievable. They expressed that they were trying to square away his customers since he would be unavailable to them and was under the impression that I had gone with his estimate, "WOWWW". The owner pointed out that the estimates were incorrect and he apologized but never suggested any kind of way to get around what the rep i dealt with had screwed up, instead he suggested I just spend more money, "SERIOUSLY"?? They had a grand opening coming up and all he wanted to do was get back to helping with the construction. I swallowed my pride and continued to focus on the surprise I wanted to have done for my husband's return so i decided to just let them do the work and within the boundaries of what i had just learned because I refused to spend another penny with these people. People told me I was making the wrong decision, I even went to another nursery to find the trees I wanted planted to not go over the budget with these people. I was so focused on them just doing their job and getting it over with . I HAVE REGRETTED THIS DECISION!!

June 2011 - Talk about rediculous and unprofessional! - these guys take the cake! They should be called "The guys with no clue"! I guess this company does not need the work or the money - they have the worst customer service and estimating abilities I have ever encountered. I called for an estimate for a fence, patio, sprinkler, sod and some landscaping (@$10K job or more) on May 13 - it is now June 20th and no estimate!! WTH? I understand they subcontract their work so you are better off getting a contractor on your own and cut out this incompetent middle man. Maybe the owner needs to get an estimator who knows what he is doing! The guy never called me back. I called after 3 weeks and was promised an estimate via email in the next few days and nothing - not even a phone call! So unprofessional - after my second callback, finally the guy called me back to tell me the concrete guy got a big job on Fort Hood, so they can't do the concrete - so do I still want an estimate for the rest of the stuff? It just keeps getting worse! IT TOOK THESE GUYS OVER A MONTH TO TELL ME THEY COULDN'T DO THE JOB! Think twice before calling this company! Buyer beware....
