Gupton's Pets and Supplies

I love how knowledgeable the staff is! Our pup stayed in their boarding for roughly two weeks the first time, and now this is like his second home. When I pick him up, he is primarily clean; his coat is excellent. He has been scratching a lot, but again, he is with several other dogs, so catching fleas or dry skin to me wouldn't be their fault. There are times when I may need our pup to stay longer, as long as there is a room they don't mind. Communication is key. Try to call before you drop, but even so, it's okay if you don't. They went up on their prices (as they should, I'm frugal) Speak with the brother and sister in the store about important stuff, the other workers have to tell them anyway, and it's better if they get it firsthand. The Vet Is incredible! She took care of our pup and our rabbit, Sir Hops. So far, my complaints are minor and not enough to discuss. They've taken care of any issue I've had.

Very helpful staff. The vet service is also good. I buy pet supplies, boarding and use the vet.

When you pull up you think oh my this is sketchy. Guptons has been in the city for 30+ years and is a well respected pet shop. Their day care facility is small but super clean, and have staff directly watching your dog directly all the time. They notice if your pup needs a break and will let them settle in a kennel. They also have various section for different activity levels of your dog in a addition to size. So if your little sweet pup is being obnoxious one day they get to play with the more spirited dogs to match their energy. They know my pup by name, will send pictures and knows your pups car. You are known as your pups mom or dad. They prioritize all animals in their care and my dog is alway the right amount of tired when he comes home and excited to go in the morning. Highly recommended.

THE BEST ! Boarding and supplies. Our dog is a giant. a Gentle giant but still very large. they do so good with him and he runs to them every time we have had to board him. that's the best review of all Our dog loves them !

My pug stayed here a couple of times while we were out of town. She had a scratch in her eye the last time she stayed here. I thought it was a fluke and took her to an emergency vet $$. Then, we gave them another chance and she stayed there again while our family was moving. When I came to get her, both eyes were scratched, visibly red, and injured. She also had a large tick on her neck. We are in the middle of moving cross country and, again, I had to take her to the emergency vet. When I called Gupton to provide them with notice and voice my concerns, they denied liability and said no one else has had problems. Beware.

This is a hard review to write but I feel it must be let know to others. My parents purchased two Pekingese puppies several years ago from Gupton's. Now multiple years later both developed issues with liver functions. One Pekingese was put down in extreme pain. The veterinarian X-rayed the animal and found liver cancer. The 2nd Pekingese is still alive, but appears to have similar health issues. Who are the breeders' Gupton's acquires the puppies from? I feel both of these Pekingese came from breeders who did not care about quality of life for the animals and were bred out of a puppy mill. Having to take a pet into a vet, be told your pet will not live another 24 hours, and have it put down is traumatic on both pet and owner. :(

They groom cats... that's amazing cause my cat is a sassy pants! lol they have great prices, great food, and the pet boarding is great. My cat stayed 2 weeks and came back happy, smelling amazing, and a lot nicer. Their staff is knowledgeable and I enjoy visiting their store for treats for my dog. They also have a great selection of quality collars, my dog has eaten 3 this year but not the one I got at Gupton's!

Great place to board your pets overnight. They care about the animals well being and comfort. We have also utilized their dog washing area. Lots of great toys, animal food and treats.

I go to Gupton's for all of my pet's needs including the house vet! The owners and staff are extremely knowledgeable and accommodating. They have a huge selection of supplies and always have great recommendations. I've also used their boarding service and felt completely at ease leaving my dog there for a few days--they even gave him a bath! 10/10 would recommend.

Gupton's really cares about your pets. My dogs get so excited to go there for grooming and boarding. They have so much fun playing with the other dogs. They love their time there!The staff is very knowledgeable about animals and their care; I have asked their advise often.
