Very happy with the quality of their work! Our wood floors are gorgeous! They helped us along the way with their recommendations, how to keep the price reasonable, and working with our tight schedules.

I DO NOT recommend Great American Hardwood Flooring in Wichita, KS. Owner Jeff Bally came to our house to measure and give a quote. He was on time and able to provide me a quote while on the job site. He also gives out a pamphlet of info and tells clients if you can't read this pamphlet then I don't want the work. The original schedule for our project was to start sanding on a Monday and then late on Friday the floors would be dry. I contacted the office at Great American to confirm they were coming week before my job as to start - you'd think someone would have reached out to me but that wasn't the case, bad sign.. but it gets worse. Monday rolls around and I get a text from Brant Ridisell, Forman at almost 3pm, it's a pic of the trailer missing a tire and he says he's run into a snag and will have to meet me in the morning. I understand projects get delayed etc, so I wasn't upset about them not starting until Tuesday. Brant texts me and we set a time to meet at my house at 7:30-8am on Tuesday Morning. Tuesday morning arrives and he shows up at my house about 9:40am, very late. He also doesn't even have his trailer with him. I show him where the key is and the floor and then he leaves to go get his trailer. He returns about an hour later with his trailer and only ends up working 1.5 hours sanding that day - gets no where close to the entire floor sanded. He tells me the floor will need 3 rounds of sanding. I have security cameras so I can see when he comes and goes. At this point we're 2 days into the project and he's worked on the floors about 1.5 hours thus far. On Wednesday he arrives and we choose the stain color. He works on and off and another woman comes to help sand but she spends the majority of time on her cell phone. Brant takes a smoke break about every 10 minutes literally. Around 3pm on Wednesday, Brant texts me that he has a personal emergency to take care of and he can't get any stain on the floor until Thursday. I call the office and ask what the deal is. It's Wednesday afternoon and the floors are about 50% complete with sanding and they should be stained at least by now and really they should have the first coat of sealer on them. The office lady says she will check in with Brant and see what's going on and this is not normal procedure. She never calls me back. On Thursday my husband calls the office and asks for Jeff the owner to give him a call...we're still waiting on the call back from Jeff almost 2 weeks later. My husband calls Brant to get an update as we're concerned because now the stain process has shrunk down to 1.5 days for 3 coats when it was originally 3 days to allow for proper dry time. On the phone Brant was very rude to my husband and gives a lot of excuses and blames the delays on a contractor that we had working in the house at the same time. On day 1, I introduced Brant to our contractor and told them both that the flooring project took priority and if at any time the contractor was in Brant's way to just let him know and he would be out of the way immediately. On Thursday afternoon I checked my security camera to find that Brant had turned my camera away from the room and it was now facing the bookshelf so therefore useless. I called him and asked why he did this. He lied to be and told me he was dusting. I called him out for lying as nothing else in the room was dusted, neither was the shelf the camera was sitting on. On Thursday I had to remind Brant that we paid for our gas stove & fridge to be installed prior to the final coating being put on the floor. Prob not Brant's job to schedule so my husband called the office on Friday and was told that the soonest this could be done is Monday. I've yet to have someone reach out to schedule installing our appliances or call me back. I never heard a single word from anyone at GA to tell me the flooring project was done or to see if I was satisfied. They did email me the final invoice for payment. Maybe Jeff will see this negative review and reply via the internet since he can't return a phone call.
