Good Fortune Chinese Restaurant

Really good stuff. I like their version of lemon chicken: Chicken that's actually juicy, not dry with a skin batter that's actually crispy and not soggy served with a generous cup of lemon dipping sauce. A nice change from the syrupy muck that you usually find at buffets. Their rangoons, and eggrolls are a win - not the stale crust with very little 'cream cheese' on the inside and the leftovers from the hot serving trays stuffed in greasy shells respectively. For the ultimate experience from this place, I suggest ordering for carryout or delivery. Delivery charges are so reasonable. Ordering is easy and straightforward, the guy knows exactly what you mean and doesn't say 'wha? can you repeat that please' Highly recommend. There are not too many good Chinese food options in Derby. Dillon's being the most mediocre of the bunch. You do pay a little more than the grocery store, but it's so totally worth it.

Maggot in my food.....I ordered vegetable chicken and white rice with a side of egg drop soup to go. Everything was hot and seemed fresh when I got home. I ate half my soup then went to my chicken. It was incredibly salty but I kept eating. As I lifted my spoon-I saw a maggot on my celery. I turned on all my lights, used a flashlight and even had my husband very that it was indeed a maggot.I felt sick to my stomach and literally got sick. I will never go here again and I hate writing bad reviews but I can't think of a reason that justifies a maggot (or maggots) in your food.

Food was poor quality. They often forget items on orders (regardless of size) and they always seem to charge an incorrect price from what their menu actually shows. I'd rather spend my money at other local Chinese restaurants.

The Good Fortune has one of the best Egg Foo Young I've ever had. I get the Combination one and it's topped with a gravy that beats all others. A must try!

The food here is amazing!! The pork fried rice is really good! The sweet and sour chicken and the barbecue spare ribs and really great!

Food is very good, but if you come in to order to go the young man at the register forgets that you ordered and wants to charge you again. This has happened to me twice and is getting annoying.

Always fresh, hot, and made to order. Our faves are beef broccoli, General Taos, and lemon chicken!!
