From the time of Cosmo's first visit, his neutering, dental cleaning, and his annual checkup at 9 years old, Cosmo has had wonderful and affordable care. Due to its fabulous reputation the Goddard Vet Clinic has gotten very popular.

I took my dog there to get spayed on 05/18/22. The day before, I received a call stating she would be needing the bordatella Vac in order to stay the night. Reluctantly I agreed (even though my dog won't ever be kenneled anywhere again) because it's their policy. Keep in mind that ALL of her Vac records were right in front of them when I got the call about only needing bordatella. The morning of the surgery, they reviewed what all would be done to her, including getting the bordatella Vac and anesthesia, and I made it clear once again (like I did over the phone the day prior) that I did "not want ANYTHING else done."(Staff wasn't friendly at all when I dropped her off but that's besides the point.)On 05/18/22 I got a call at 10:17 a.m. stating the surgery had gone well and that "doctor RECOMMENDS a FOURTH parvo shot" since my dog just had three rounds when she was younger. I made it clear that I stopped at three deliberately (it's more than sufficient & even recognized as being so), that she would be turning one year in a week, and that I 100% did NOT want a fourth parvo shot administered...especially not the SAME DAY she was under anesthesia and received a bordatella Vac!Got a second call at 11:35 a.m. to go through follow-up care and was nonchalantly told, "Oh and doctor did go ahead and give the parvo."I was LIVID!!! Not only did they not have my consent or permission--they had the OPPOSITE of it--I had just told them NO several times just an hour earlier (and also the day before & again that morning)! There was ZERO reason for them to do that, especially not within an hour of her surgery, other than to make some easy money. When I came to pick her up on 05/19/22 I refused to pay for the entire procedure and they didn't even try to argue with me since they knew they were majorly in the wrong. I was very close to taking legal action & it's still on my mind because of the complete disregard of my wishes and negligence to my baby's well-being. Posting this review so this doesn't happen to anyone else!!That was a dangerous & unnecessary cocktail she received while in a fragile state, all for a quick buck!Suffice to say, I'll NEVER be stepping foot into this place ever again.

Recommended to me by clients so I gave this clinic a lot of credence due to what I heard. Unfortunately my experiences were not as good and ended tragically. The Vet I saw at initial visit 5/18/16 was not very friendly and dismissive. I explained I had 4 dogs needing to be spayed and to have teeth cleanings. I scheduled the teeth cleaning and teeth extraction surgery I needed anyway(6/3). Followed by a two spays (drop off 6/15 pick up 6/16) Everything went fine though each time I went there I felt the staff was not very accommodating or friendly. And I never saw a Vet. Just dropped off my dogs and picked them as scheduled for these surgeries without ever the courtesy of seeing or hearing from the Vet. And the clinic not once called to report that a surgery was done. Or to check on one of our dogs after we took them home or when we came back in the next time. (Each time I left that clinic I mumbled to myself that I didn't like that place. I'm a very positive, chipper person and no one there would have ever guessed I thought that. And other than to my family I told myself that this place would be fine. My Vet had a stroke and can't do surgeries right now. I told myself I was being too picky. Now I'm kicking myself for ignoring intuition.)Third spay done 6/27 and picked up 6/28. Dropped off 4th and last girl at same time. She trembled and eyes were wide as saucers when I dropped her off. I had no fear for her safety. She was the healthiest and youngest of the three girls. (This is perhaps the 2nd time I missed a dog's instincts for self survival. Maybe she knew this wasn't going to be a good outcome?)Well, today my son picked up his sweet Shih Tzu, Mimi, from her spay that she had yesterday. He was told she was bit wheezy and would be tired and was given antibiotics. It was explained she had a bit of fluid in her lungs but should be fine. By the time he got home with her 20 minutes later, she was in critical condition. Their office was closed for lunch. We called around to find a Vet with a Dr that was in and had no luck. Then I called Emergency clinic and was on the phone with them when she seized. We gave her CPR all the way to nearest Vet but it was too late. Dr was there and could not revive her. He suggested we go back to Goddard and find out why they would send her home. Also called my Vet and told him what was happening as we drove back to Goddard. Devastated we went back to Goddard with our dead dog and were offered KState autopsy but we wouldn't be able to get her remains back. They sent a critically ill dog home that died within an hour of leaving. The staff is rude and not at all compassionate. The nicest person we met at the clinic was the Vet who apologized for death of beloved girl. And we do appreciate that he was at least apologetic and offered the necropsy. There is no excuse for the way the clinic has treated us to this point and that they caused her death. We would have happily paid to have her stay longer and receive proper care. Instead, we took her remains to Pet Traditions for $275 cremation, urn, and memory package. We are heartbroken! The clinic is refunding $152 spent today on Mimi spay. No offer to help with her final expenses at this point though again we do appreciate his apology as he has been the only kind person at the clinic.I will never go to a clinic that does not allow me to speak to the vet before and after every procedure and will never again tolerate snooty front desk service, I don't care how competitive their prices are and how good the Vets are supposed to be. And I want my dogs treated like members of my family, which they are... So I darn well expect to be asked about them and informed better about them. I will be advising my real estate clients, Inspire Wichita friends, and Show Tyme Shih Tzu family on what I've learned from this experience. 3 years later... this still haunts me in 2019. Still furious! Worst customer experience in my life!!!!

My family has taken all our animals here for years for VARIOUS reasons. My family's dog had diabetes for years and they took great care of him. Lived longer than they had expected. They are affordable and great small town vet. I appreciate that Dr. Koster has some fixes for some things that don't cost an arm and a leg. He seems to understand cats and dogs behavior very well. I trust his opinion. I drive 30 minutes to go to this vet and will forever do that. The staff all knows me and my animals by name and they are always so friendly and look out for my animals.

I've been taking my pets to Goddard Vet for several years. I had hoped prices would be cheaper since building is nothing fancy, but prices are comparable to most vets. I have always been treated friendly and they accommodate me when my life gets crazy. My dog is now a DNR , so they don't try to go overboard. We still keep him comfortable and happy. I wish they would draw blood and stuff in the exam room I'm in, but they go to the back "where the equipment is." Dr Alberg always spends time and is very sweet and agreeable. I have no complaints.

We have 3 Yorkies and all have been treated here. They all received great care ranging from spaying, general illness , yearly physicals and shots. Staff was very friendly and compassionate. They kept us well informed of their status when our pups got spayed. Doctors talked with us in great length about the health of our dogs and continued needs at home. I would recommend this group to anyone.

I called in the AM and stated that my cat's colon was blocked as he did not appear to have any bowel movements and was not eating his food. I inquired if Dr. A would express out or unblock the cat's stool. The staff stated that, of course, they did do expressing out. The staff strongly urged me to bring him ASAP and leave him until Dr. A could get to him. Upon arriving with my cat, the staff then showed me all the expensive things that could be done and demanded my signature. I quickly informed them that my cat had had prior exams done the previous day and also that I could not afford to have all of this done. I specifically asked them what needed to be done in order to have him expressed out. They stated that it necessary to have an expensive digital x-ray. Under duress, I agreed to the digital x-ray and was then asked to leave and come back when they would call me. After returning, I, alone without my cat, consulted with Dr. A. He briefly told me that while the cat appeared to have some hard stool in the colon that he did NOT find it necessary to express him out. I quickly countered with the fact that my cat had NOT been eating well nor had he had any stools within the last couple of days. Dr. A quickly responded by saying that I had NOT fed my cat enough food. This, of course, was NOT true. In desperation to see my cat, I finally ended the meeting and I myself stated that, perhaps, I would just feed my cat milk and then maybe he would have stools. Dr. A quickly responded by agreeing that this would probably work but it might also produce diarrhea. Then, in order to get my cat back, I had to pay a high price for receiving NO real service at all. (Also, I did NOT get the opportunity to observe whether or NOT an physical exam had been performed.)
