Get A Move On

Used company service in April broke my $4000 table. Went to small claims court settled for $2500. Still has made attempt to pay. Do Not use this company they will try to cheat you.

Recently my in-laws, moved to Arkansas. They used the company out of Wichita called Get A Move On. The day of delivery it was pouring rain and all of their soft furniture got wet- there was a leak in the roof of the moving truck. Their furniture recovered except for a water stain on the back of 1 recliner. As they were unpacking they noticed their 48" TV had a cracked screen in two places- it had only been wrapped in paper. They had paid for full insurance coverage. The owner of the company said they would give them $120 for the recliner and $100 for the TV. He said they depreciated the value on both items due to age. They were told at the time of the interview that if anything was ruined it would be covered. DO NOT USE Get A Move On.

Good Points: They were able to set up a moving time on short notice and fit us into their busy schedule.Bad Points: They weren't careful with our furniture at all. My desk is now scuffed up on 2 sides, and the table saw is missing it's bolts. I would definitely not use them again.

I called Get A Move On to move me recently. On the phone, I was told that I was scheduled for an "afternoon" appointment. I was told this would be around 3-3:30 when they were done with morning jobs. 3:30 rolled around, and I hadn't heard from them. Then 4. Then 4:30. I called to see where they were and get a "They aren't there yet? Let me call them". I had to call back an hour later to see where they were. It was now 5:30 and they hadn't even started loading my stuff from the storage unit. When I called back angrily I was told it would be about 15 minutes. They didn't show up to the unit until almost 6:30. Their truck was FULL of trash/paper that they had to unload before loading my belongings. They also loaded it back up after my stuff was in the truck. When they got to my house (after 7:30 at this point), they took the trash out on a windy day, and it was blowing into my new neighbors yards, so I had to chase it down and throw it away. The movers, while their intentions were good, were not good at their job. They didn't know how to properly move large items, they were slow and walking around, and one of the guys even made a comment about me calling their manager. I had asked that all boxes go into the garage - since I was trying to make sure they weren't tearing up my house, I couldn't be everywhere at once. One of the guys took that to mean that if he couldn't find me to ask where something went, it would just go in the garage. I had to move multiple items myself as they weren't supposed to go in the garage, yet that is where they decided to plant them. After talking to the manager I was given a 10% discount and not charged for the 3rd guy. I wouldn't use these guys again.

Theses people are simply best of the best.They've moved us twice and if there will be a third time they will be moving us for sure.

Do not use them. There's a reason the District Attorney took them to court. $119000 civil penalty. Damaged our furniture and house throughout.

This company's staff robbed my aging father during a recent move he hired this company to help him with. They broke into his personal safe and stole ALL of his valuable coins that he had spent his life collecting. Not only that, they also neglected to move all of his belongings and left valuable rugs behind, stole his tools and then proceeded to ask him to give them some of his belongings that they felt he'd no longer need in his new place. When my father called the owner of the company to report his losses, the owner's response was "What are you going to do about it"? ABSOLUTELY DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY for any services needed. I just found out about this as i live several states away from my father, but they will also be receiving a phone call from me tomorrow. Absolutely appalling that my father would be taken advantage of in this manner and have to PAY for it to boot!

I would not trust them to move anything. I had to move my fathers things into a storage unit. They were the only ones that knew where the storage unit was. It was broken into and a lot of valuable furniture was stolen. They have a lot of shady looking people working for them. The storage unit next to mine was broken into without anything taken. I know they were looking for my storage unit after they moved it in. No cameras so I could not prove it. Beware.

If only I'd checked here before hiring them - our shipping involved losses and damages - eventually "agreed" a settlement but they still haven't paid the full amount after 13 months and they don't answer phone calls or Emails anymore !!??

We had them move furniture to a duplex we were renting while we built a house and store some of our furniture during the build. They were not careful with our furniture and several pieces had small scratches on them. They stored our dining room table and chairs, and a buffet for us. When they delivered those, they had set the buffet on top of the table and there were dents in the table top and scratches. They tried to say they were already there, were very rude to us. When I showed them the dents were exactly spaced as the legs on the buffet, they agreed maybe something happened. The first time they had the table top repaired it was a terrible repair, they had to have it redone by another furniture repairman and it was a beautiful job. We would NEVER recommend this company, poor customer service, rude employees, takes for ever to get something done if there are damaged goods.
