This latin-Asian fusion food truck is really good! We tried them at the garlic fest and their menu looked delicious, but unfortunately since we had been trying out other venues we were too full to order a lot. We will definitely try to find them again in the future when we visit Wichita again!! Their raspberry lavender lemonade is also a must try.

Funky Monkey is one of my favorite food trucks in the area...I try to eat here once a month. I've tried every item on their menu, and they're all great, but my favorites are currently the Korean Street Tacos with hot bbq and the Vietnamese Egg Rolls, but I really miss the Crab Rangoon Street Tacos. Unfortunately, they tend to run out of some items (about half the time I try to order egg rolls they're out), but that's to be expected from a food truck...they have limited capacity after-all. The food is always hot and so good, and the people who operate this truck are extremely kind and fun. Their menu changes from time to time, so your favorite items may not always be available, though I've been told they'll still make them upon request if they are able.

Amazing. Simply amazing food. And the best people around. What more could you ask for? My mom even asks when we are eating there again regularly lol. I highly recommend them.

Ok Wichita, Funky Monkey Munchies is now my favorite food truck. I have tried a few food truck vendors here and in Denver. These people rock asian fusion tacos. Tried the Crab Rangoon Street Tacos - amazing. Very Filling. The rangoon is not too sweet like some traditional crab rangoon appetizers. Two is plenty. Enough to share a bite (but only a bite cause you're going to want it all for yourself) with your favorite person. Also tried the Pork Belly Street Taco - absolutely the bees knees. The pork is so tender it melts practically once it hits your mouth. The asian Flavor makes your taste buds do a rock dance. The vegetables were fresh and colorful. If you are not a vegetable eater well.... you will simply forget that they are healthy because it pairs so nicely with the pork belly. Your momma always told you to eat your vegetables so go ahead and do that. Moms are 99.5% correct most of the time. The last taco I tried was the (spicy pork taco) Funky Monkey Munchies please forgive me for slaying the name. I can only blame it on the food you prepared because it blew my mind. So this taco was fresh with a couple of mounds of an asian cole slaw on the top. I ordered spicy because that is how I roll. If you aren't down with spicy go with not spicy. So just to clarify..... I did not put all the tacos that I ordered in my belly. I am a good wife and brought the left over samplings to my hubs and kiddos. I am a foodie but there is a limit to the intake of food one can only handle. So in summary this is the best Food Truck I have had the pleasure of trying. If any of you and your others haven't tried Funky Monkey Munchies then you must - stat. Non paid endorsement btw. They don't know me nor I them. However I do love seeing small business be brave and grow up to be epically huge and get lots of fame for doing things they love. I Funky Monkey Munchies.

Hawaiian cuisine has a lot more going for it than pineapple, which is why it was disappointing that Funky Monkey Munchies chose the fruit as the centerpoint for the entirety of their menu during their second tenure at the monthly Food Trucks at the Fountain get-together. Chain pizzerias popularized the ham-pineapple combo in the 50's because the ingredients were easy enough to obtain yet exotic enough to entice the Midwesterners who had never journeyed to the Aloha state. Serving as the base of a themed menu, the flaws of both become apparent. Between the ham, pineapple cream cheese, tomatoes, lettuce, and sweet chili sauce in the Hawaiian tacos, the pineapple steamrolls every other ingredient in the dish, not that the modest serving of ham was well-suited to playing a starring role in the first place. Too much cream cheese, too much sauce, and not enough Hawaii - an error that was essentially repeated in the Hawaiian mac salad. Between the elbow macaroni, mayo, ham, carrots, pineapple, and onion, it was still unbalanced towards the sweetness and acidity of the pineapple, though in a modest side dish it's less off-putting.I can assume what makes the sweet in the "sweet and savory" ground beef used in the Island Joe's, but the pineapple juice here doesn't overwhelm the sloppy Joe sandwich. What does overwhelm the sloppy Joe is the use of the very nice Delano Bakery bun and the Yoder Swiss cheese that encompasses the meat. Sloppy Joes are among the most cheap and pedestrian sandwiches that can be made, and placing the emphasis on the supporting players rather than creating something compelling from the meat results in the forest getting lost through the trees. The Italian menu did not fare any better. An Italian "jambalaya" was a thin soup that in no way resembled the classic New Orleans dish. The Italian nachos went in a different direction than the ones popularized at Albero Cafe earlier in 2014, opting for pita chips instead of wonton skins. The carefully-deployed menagerie of marinara and mozzarella made it easy to eat without getting messy, but between the pita chips, green onions, and a questionable squirt sour cream, claiming it to be Italian was a stretch. The spaghetti and meatball slider was a starch overload and another gussied-up sloppy Joe variation that sneaks onto most of FMM's menus, but was otherwise decent, if only because the Delano bread and Yoder cheese made a return appearance. The most recent Asian menu showed some improvement. A "bahn mi bowl" failed to communicated the pleasures of the Vietnamese sandwich; the only ingredients shared between the two were the accouterments of carrot, daikon, cilantro, and cucumber. The sweet chili chicken made the entire thing way too sweet, though it was otherwise a very nicely-presented offering, and was enjoyable to eat if you got past the sweetness. The sweet and tangy pork used on the nachos was also way too sweet. An excellent grilled cheese was offered with bacon and kimchi, offering enough complexity to break up the otherwise heavy and one-note sandwich. The crab rangoon taco was not an elegant dish, but replicated the taste of the popular take-out item exceptionally well. There's an inkling towards local ingredients that I appreciate, and combined with a creative approach to their menu, there's plenty of potential for good food to come out of Funky Monkey Munchies, but it can sometimes be difficult to find amid the desire to offer something different, or fitting into a heavy-handed theme. Food trucks embody creativity and exploration, but it shouldn't come at the expense of the final product.

Delicious food truck fusion food paired with outstanding customer service make Funky Monkey my go-to food truck. I've had them cater events for me in the pst both in their truck and at a venue. The quality of food and smiles served is the same. Crab Rangoon Tacos, Pork Belly Tacos, Lavender Lemon-aide - all delicious and crowd favorites.

Stopped in for the curry for lunch and it was spot on perfect! Just spicy enough and, since I got the large, I have enough for another meal. This was my first visit to this truck and I will be back for more.

I love food trucks! That said, I'm usually disappointed when the food comes. Either that, or it's so expensive I have to take out a small loan. I found Funky Monkey Munchies one weekend when I was staying in Wichita with my cousins. It had the longest line, but something told me to try it. I didn't want the usual hamburger, and the menu items intrigued me. That night there happened to be a $10 special, so I could choose 3 items. I got the Korean street tacos, kimchee tots, and something with wontons. My cousins were done with their meals by the time I came back to the table, but wow, was it worth the wait! I had so much food that I shared. We all loved it. However, I did NOT share the Korean tacos - after one bite I could not put them down! :) I have never tasted anything like it. The other items were excellent also, but it's the tacos that keep me looking for this truck when I come to town. I will say that last time I ordered, I got two orders of the tacos to save for the next day. They are definitely not the same warmed up in the microwave. All the cold ingredients like the amazing slaw just don't hold up to being put through that. This food needs to be experienced fresh. Two tacos for $6 - the prices is right, and they are filling. The other items on the menu seem reasonably priced also. I've tried to find a similar recipe online, but I've had no luck. I'll just keep buying from them, and hope they don't ever remove the Korean tacos from the menu!
