So pretty! They'll let you look around if you're nice, and there's nothing going on. In lieu of a guided tour, wish there was something for my smartphone. HINT, HINT. Don't miss the restrooms, on the balcony.

The Fox Theatre is definitely something that Hutchinson has to be proud of. First built in 1931, the Fox is one of the finest examples of art deco architecture in the US. A special selection of films are shown at the Fox on the weekends. Book your tickets fast, they're usually only showing for a few days. Aside from movies, the Fox boasts excellent live shows featuring orchestras, plays and singers. Tours of the theatre are available as well for a nominal fee. I will admit it was worth the money to learn more about the history of this beautiful building.A bit of Fox history, according to their web site:* The Fox marquee was the first flashing display of neon in Kansas and is one of only several surviving, functioning, original marquees in the country.* Two films held their premieres at the Fox with the cast appearing at the event: "Wait 'Til the Sun Shines Nellie (1952) and "Picnic" (1955).* The theatre closed in 1985 and stood empty until 1990 when Hutchinson's Historic Theatre, Inc., a non-profit corporation purchased it. After undergoing a $4.5 million restoration, the Fox re-opened in 1999.

The Fox Theatre is Hutchinson treasure! When stepping in you will see the amazing art deco style that will take you back to the days of watching a Mae West movie. This is worth a tour if you are around the Hutchinson area. I've attended many shows and movies and would recommend this to any and everyone. Staff seems very nice and the prices for the shows I believe are good considering the location. Check this place out!!!

The Fox Theatre is an art-deco masterpiece. It was painstakingly restored to its 1930s glory, with original light fixtures. There's a movie series and numerous events throughout the year, some geared to families. Leave some time to just sit with your mouth hanging open at how gorgeous it is. It's the official movie palace of Kansas.

What a beautiful venue. I think this theatre was built in the 1920's. It has been restored and it is gorgeous. Every detail has been cleaned, restored and gilded. The old chandeliers and blue clock all are beautiful. We saw a movie just last weekend. And we see performances during the season. When there is a crowd, the nook for the snack bar gets really crowded, as do the restrooms so you need to plan ahead (get snacks and use restrooms before the movie ).

We just started going to see movies at the Fox as part of the film series and were very impressed! It's a beautiful old theatre, so the seats are a bit small and there aren't cup holders, but it's an awesome place to go see movies for much cheaper than regular theatres. They offer non-expiring passes that are good for 10 movie admissions and 5 free popcorns (free refills) for only $36. Bottled sodas were pretty expensive at $3 each, but it's still way cheaper overall, especially if you're taking your family. They also allowed us to use one pass for two people, just punched two of our admissions. I highly recommend going here whenever you can!
