Looks like it has not been open for years. So even though Yelp says it is open until 8:00 pm didn't even try... DQ here we come.

Burgers are good, atmosphere could use improvement. Other items a little pricey for what you get.

I ended up at the Flint Hills Saloon through the recommendation of the coffee shop owner down the street. I admit the outside/front door of this place looks shady, but once you are in you discover a bunch of the locals are there too, and locals are there because they know the place is great. The food was fantastic. Service was very friendly but a bit slow. I'm going back.

Flint Hills Saloon & Eatery at 410 E Main St in Council Grove, KS...Had asked for a recommendation for a good place for lunch from a co-worker who lives in Council Grove. We were in town for the Symphony in the Flint Hills - so fitting that Flint Hills Saloon came back as one of the places we should try. Friendly, Fresh and Fabulous. The staff could not be more friendly (like they actually liked working there) I can see why because the owners are just as friendly. Heather came by our table and visited and soon the discussion went to her Home-Made Pies. "Should I set aside a piece, so we make sure we have one for you?" Heck yeah- and boy are we glad we did. I had he Chocolate and my wife had Key Lime. OMG- if nothing else go there for dessert. So, then the other Owner Margarita Mike stops by and visits about the Restaurant and how he started during the pandemic, and they are just getting going and soon to have live Music etc. He asked us to critique the food and let him know -because you do not know or can't improve unless someone tells you.! Well, we let him have it...The food was Fresh and delicious. My wife had the fresh strawberry mixed greens salad and I had the Angus Burger. I am serious when I say that was probably the best Hamburger I have had in ages. Now, we weren't so hungry that anything would have tasted good. It was really good. Fresh and Fabulous. Oh and the beer came in a frosted glass

The saloon would be an OK choice if nothing else in Council Grove was available. We felt sorry for the young man who worked as our server. He tried hard but it was obvious that he was new and had no training and little support. The beer was cold...

This is a dive bar. Food was okay, but the cheeseburger was served on a cold, untoasted bun. The best thing here on our Saturday lunch were the tater tots, which are tough to mess up.

Spent a day sightseeing around central Kansas and ended up in Council Grove to see some historical sites, visit Flint Hills Books and get something to eat. Decided smoked meat sounded good after asking for a recommendation at the bookstore. This place doesn't look like much from the e outside, but the food is absolutely delicious. Service was great, too. But seriously, make sure you save room for pie! Not even kidding. Best flaky crust and soooooo delicious. Come hungry and leave full. The cowboy beans and coleslaw are made in house and super tasty. Try them!

This restaurant has a very relaxing atmosphere and the food is excellent. If you are in the area, it is a real treat that you don't want to miss. The dessert selection is better than any and they are all made in-house, not purchased from mass production.
