Take out tonight. Must have sent me their new sauce. Nothing but tomato sauce. Forgot to send hot I asked for along with some mild.

Some entrees are amazing and others aren't. The drinks are always good. However, we were told half price margaritas and then on the bill they were still full price. Server was nice but was obviously running around because they didn't have enough people working. The ambiance could be better especially for the price.

Gross food, disgusting service. Manager on duty Tuesday evening was unprofessional and flat out the rudest I've ever encountered.

Felipe's offers some of the most bland, inauthentic Mexican food I have ever had. Maybe it's just because I spent most of my life eating Mexican food in Arizona and New Mexico so I have a different idea of what 'authentic' means, but I just cannot understand why this place gets praise at all, let alone why it gets praised so frequently for being authentic. Most of what I tried here was completely boring, unadventurous, and downright flavorless. From the weak jarred salsa to the docile beans and rice to the totally Americanized enchiladas and tacos, there wasn't a hint of spice or spiciness to be found anywhere in the food I tried. For the most part it was inoffensive, dumbed-down cuisine. But, I happened to order the carnitas which were completely awful. Carnitas should be pork cooked low and slow until the marbled fat has melted out and delicious, tender meat is left behind to be pulled apart into nice stringy bits that are then roasted in some of the meat juice. At Felipe's, you get thick cuts of tough dried out pork with large blobs of fat stuck to it and no discernible spices added. Authentic? Not even close. Simply put, they were not traditionally cooked, so by definition they are not authentic. And the fat on them was disgusting. Look at my photo, you can see how fatty it was. I'm not exaggerating. Absolutely nasty. I couldn't finish the stuff. Now go do a Google search for images of carnitas and see if you can find one that looks like the photo I took. To me, that's objective proof that this place isn't authentic.Maybe people have had better luck ordering different items. My wife's salad, for example, was pretty tasty, fresh, and had plenty of chicken. But the food I got ran the gamut from forgettable and mediocre to just plain terrible. I won't ever be back and, frankly, I am little disheartened about eating Mexican food anywhere in Wichita after this experience.

We have been in here multiple time with ok results but I think tonight will be the last. We arrived on a Saturday night to a 3/4 full restaurant, we were seated immediately after that at least 20 minutes of watching others be seated and even receive there food we didn't even get spoken to and tried to get the attention of several servers with no avail. So we got up and left letting a clueless manager know as we went out the door. Over all a horrible experience.

Good family owned mexican Restaurant which has been around since mid 1960's. An authentic Wichita staple. Originally started by Don Felipe (RIP) and his wife. Traditional americanized mexican dishes. Excellent staff and enviroment. The bar/lounge area is very popular and offers great CAZUELAS.. hefty fruity tequila drinks. This place has been around for a while and has remained consistant. Good place to go for lunch or with family and friends.visit www.tonsilcleaner.com for bad breath solutions.Learn more check out our forum

Ewh. It is safe to say we won't be returning here. Salsa was basically runny ketchup & the enchiladas were hands down the worst I've ever had. Even my food inhaling husband wouldn't eat them. He barely touched his food as well. He order something similar to enchiladas but with pork & it was filled with refried beans & very sparse portions of pork. The service was decent. The waitress was pleasant, just a touch slow but she did have two other larger tables. My Cadillac Margarita was the highlight of this meal so I just drank my calories instead of eating them. Personally wouldn't recommend this place unless you're just dropping in for a cocktail.

The chips and salsa were ok and by far the best things we ate, which isn't saying much. Mexican pizza was a greasy soggy mess, "flautas" were large doughy and bad tasting, mostly because of the bad flavored beans used. All around this food was yucky, doughy, greasy and sloppy. Disappointing!

I don't understand why this restaurant has multiple ads for curb side service, but will not answer the phone to let you place an order. Then tried to order on line for curbside and got a response they were not taking orders for to go, call back Tuesday. This was at 2pm on a Sunday and they were open per the posted hours.
