El Zarape

It is a family tradition and favorite!!!The large combination is the best. My mom gets the pablano. Miss seeing some of the original family.

Same review as everyone that has actually come to eat here The enchiladas were dry as if they hadn't even attempted to out sauce on itThey just had been topped with cheese Didn't taste any enchilada flavor at allSalsa was so so. I didn't understand why people would want to have it shippedNo cilantro in it or onion bits just a very slightly spicy tomato sauce My husband wasn't impressed either his carne asada plate either

On a work trip walked in and had dinner. Pretty good chips and salsa, the cheese dip was also great. We had great a server and food was pretty good. I'd go again. Pretty good for garden city.

Food was good. Service was good. Called ahead to make a reservation for a table of 12 and was told no problem. Got there and was basically called a liar. No one had called! When I showed her my phone with their phone number in it her tone changed. We almost walked out but everyone was wanting Mexican food and we knew it was a good restaurant to eat at. Definitely would get rid of the hostess or manager whoever she was that greeted us at the door.

Food was bad the beans were burnt burritos were dry and I couldn't get the green sauce for my chips unless I paid for a whole jar. They didn't have margaritas .. beer only ..I had to ask for salt 3 times to salt my chips and the service was mediocre!

I love love this place.My family and Ihave been coming here since I was a small child. I think they spoiled me on what mexican tastes like because since I have moved away I cant find anywhere that compares to El Zarape. I LOVE that I can get their hotsauce at dillons here. Eating their salsa with chips is like comfort food for me.Everytime Im in Garden City we HAVE to come here to eat.

I had the shrimp fajitas. They were good I just wish there would of been more than 5 small shrimps and the rest was all bell peppers. My husband had a burrito and when I asked him how it was he said "tough as nails" And "half my burrito is sour cream" I thought he was joking, he cut the burrito and indeed one side sour cream side and one meat. The cheese dip was disappointing and the salsa was just tomatoe. This is not what Mexican food is supposed to taste like. Also a Mexican quesadilla does not use cheddar cheese.

if I could give this restaurant a 0 I would. we got seated rather quickly despite being busy but sadly that was the only good thing here. we had asked for a high chair and it took about 20 minutes to get to us, even tho we had seen our waitress several times. i could be wrong but I'm pretty sure my tacos were from the freezer section from dollar tree. the rice tasted like bathroom cleaner and the salsa was basically just blended tomatoes. what really set me over the edge was the bill of 185 for freezer food. we did have a larger group of 12 but 6 of them shared meals. would not recommend this place to my worst enemies. 0/10.

Moved from Garden City and came back for a visit. Grew up eating at El Zarape's and couldn't wait to eat there again. Love their hot sauce! The reason for the one star is that we were served mild hot sauce so we asked for medium. They said for a small bowl they would have to charge us for it. We ended up buying a jar because it would be cheaper then to buy small bowls for our group. They make their own hot sauce and I've never been anywhere that charged for a bowl of hot sauce. Mr and Mrs. Garcia would be very unhappy as they were always trying to please their customers! We won't ever eat there again. We will go to Holcomb another favorite place for us.

We have loved this place for a long long time! During Covid we've ordered delivery and they are better then even a pizza delivery place at getting our order to us in a timely manner. They send friendly delivery people and are always early in bringing us food. Great service and awesome food!!!
