A fun dueling piano show at the Alameda County Fair! The rare female duo on stage originate from Minnesota, but perform at this fair regularly. Cassandra and Jacy are awesome. You can tell they're good friends, the way they interact on stage in such a genuine and lighthearted manner, incorporating a bit of humor and playfulness into their act as well. And they invite the crowd to have fun too. There's a text line (a giant sign on stage with the phone number) for guests to put in requests for their favorite tunes. They did a bit of Taylor Swift and the Beatles while I was there this past weekend, as well as Elton John's I Guess That's Why They Call It the Blues. I love that they're willing to try songs they don't really know, putting effort into pleasing the audience, and they find a way to make it work. It's not like SF or Vegas piano dueling shows, where guests have to pay $20-100 to get your song played. Here it's free... though tipping is a great way to support the pianists and show appreciation for their performance. And they deserve it. They don't just bring great musicianship, they bring some pretty impressive vocals too, even a bit of beatboxing this past Sunday. It was such a delightful and carefree show... I was all smiles :)

These two chicks are amazing! I first saw them performing at The Alameda County Fair, and I could not get enough of them! I've been to dueling pianos and piano bars aplenty, and it's so great to see two female dueling pianists on the stage. Unfortunately for me, they are based in Minnesota, but they do private events and gigs throughout the country. Cass and Jacy are so talented not only on the keys, but on vocals, percussion, interpretative dancing (courtesy of Cass), and comedy. They are a sassy, dynamic duo, and I am really hoping they'll be back for next year's fair!
