This is a great YMCA location. This YMCA was located near my hotel, it was snowing so I decided to use the indoor track and weights at the YMCA. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly, they made navigating the Y and using the facility seamless. The indoor track is well kept and a great place to run or walk. The weight room has a large amount of equipment and well laid out to accommodate any workout routine. I really enjoyed using this facility, and will use it again if I am in the area.

YMCA is all over town, but each one is different from one another from appearance to staff. I have been a member of the YMCA for a number of years. I originally signed up for the N Woodlawn YMCA because I could walk to it from where I lived. Since then I have moved and am a lot closer to the Andover YMCA / East YMCA. I still choose to come back to this YMCA, particularly during lunch time. The people are nice and helpful. When I ask the staff questions they know how to give me what I need quickly. I also enjoy seeing the same faces during lunch for the work out lunch rush. There have also been times where I drive out of my way to go to this YMCA because the staff is helpful and the people are friendly.Overall this gym is great and I plan to continue being a member and continue going out of my way for this gym. The staff is friendly and acknowledge me every time I visit, they even know me by name correctly, because my name is not the easiest to say.

This is a really standard YMCA - it's not new but it's not as old as say the East Y. Weights and cardio equipment are sufficient. New Schwinn spin bikes in the last year or two - plus the spin classes being in an open "loft" rather than a studio - make cycle classes interesting and fun. The yoga studio is right next to another group exercise studio that plays club/bump music so it can be hard at times to get your zen on. The lap pool is only 3 lanes, the online schedule is sometimes wrong, and it irritates me that they use it for water aerobics classes sometimes when there's an entire 2nd pool just for that purpose (which is why I've started going to the new downtown Y's 8-lane lap-only pool for swimming). It seems this Y in particular attracts more families and children than the other two I frequent, so it can get crowded with bouncing basketballs and rambunctious kiddos. But being as "youth development" is the top mission of the Y, you have to expect that and I don't mind.

My hotel gym was very small so I got a day pass ($10) and was pleasantly surprised by the gym. It's HUGE! Pretty much every machine I needed was there, a lot of cardio machines and small towels provided. They also provided a lock for me I just had them hold my car keys. I also noticed how almost everyone was very respectful of the space and equipment and would wipe things down after usage.

This Y isn't very clean. We don't live near it but had to go there for my daughters class, the family rooms by the indoor pool were messy, and no where to change my sons diaper. The restrooms don't even have baby changing station. The water park is nice. I like that is has a little area for babies, but the "locker rooms" are gross. Like something you would expect at a city park. Not clean AT ALL, a lot of women were commenting on how they were just going to go inside the YMCA. The baby changing area was very filthy and not very sturdy. This Y just seems very outdated and uncomfortable. Would much rather go to other YMCAs

I love this Y. I just have a couple of issues. The sauna under the benches as filthy, and the family locker rooms should be up kept all more and I think if they put like mats to walk on from all the water would avoid a lot of falls and the nasty feelings I get when I walk

I am giving this place stars for the nice staff and for Pam, the Zumba instructor. This is not an ideal place to be at if you want to use the squat rack. The lifters here are extremely inconsiderate; about 10% of the so-called weight lifters ever put their plates back. There needs to be signs around the weights room that say "Please kindly put your plates and free weights back after use" and to "Please be considerate of others and don't hog squat racks." I'm okay with people spending an hour or two at the squat racks if they're actually using them, but I often find people doing like 1 set of something and then walk around and socialize with others for 10-20 minutes at a time. It's so annoying. And if you're with a friend, share. Don't each occupy a freaking squat rack. Ive never had a decent experience here in the weights room because the lifters here are just a bunch of egoistic, selfish egg heads.
