I just moved down to Wichita, a little over 2 months ago and switching to State Farm was the worse mistake ever into buying auto insurance. Like a good neighbor State Farm is there; don't buy into it, it's a big fat lie. Here's my story; after comparing with other insurance companies state farm came out to be slightly cheaper. I requested a quote online and got called by an agent working at this location to discuss my quote and see if I had interest. I decided to purchase auto insurance through them. I was in the middle of a divorce and I never mentioned to put my ex spouse under my insurance, since we no longer were living together. A little over a month later, I get a call from them, this same office, saying that they cancelled my insurance because of my ex-spouse. I told them that I am close to getting a divorce and I never even wanted my ex spouse under my insurance. I was then told that it's fixed, my ex spouse was removed and I shouldn't have to worry. This happened on a Friday, when I got off work I decided to check my account online since I chose paperless option just to double check, to make sure that my insurance wasn't cancelled. I found out that night that the auto insurance i purchased was not available. Called the 800-number and came to find out that I had insurance but no proof of insurance. Didn't drive that weekend as a precautionary and called this same office the following monday to figure out what's going on. Then heard again that I don't have to worry, I'm covered and shouldn't worry. They emailed a document as proof of insurance. A little over 2 weeks after that, just 3 days when my payment was due for the month, I get my bill in the mail that went up almost 100% without any reason. Never had any traffic offenses, yet they want me to pay as much as someone who does. Instead of first explaining what the situation is and apologizing for not notifying me of what is going on, she just simply tried selling me extra insurance just to get about a $14 cheaper on my monthly payment. And when it came up to the point of asking what's going on, she then tried to tell me that it's because my ex spouse no longer is on the policy, that's why my rate went up. So at first, they tried to cancel my insurance policy because of my ex spouse and then later raise my insurance because I got divorced. It makes no sense at all, very unprofessional, immature and quite an irritating hassle. I've never had a traffic offense or late payment nor have I ever driven without insurance, so their explanation made zero sense. If it's quite a hassle just to buy an insurance policy, I don't even want to know what people have to go through when they have to file a claim. Don't know for sure if it's State Farm system or this State farm agent office that lacks in good service. I've had this discussion with several others, and even they think it's unreal and terrible and immature. Therefore, one star is all they get. If a lower rating was available, they'd deserve the lowest they could get. Just sharing my experience here with those who are planning to do business with this office/ agent. Just don't get into the same horrible trap I fell for
