Country Hearth Inn & Suites

I did not stay in this location, but the one I needed @ 1000 Mathews lane in Minor (sikeston) Missouri does not show up, so therefore I will leave this review wherever I find a Country Hearth Inn postedMy mother called and reserved a room 1 week in advance at a rate of 49.95 a night. When she showed up to check in, the price had increased to 69.99 per night. So, if you think your reservation is also locking in your price, think again. I was not with my mother when she checked in, as I was flying in from California. The room she neeeded (smoking) was on the second floor. My mom was going to be having knee replacement surgery in 2 days. There are no elevators and the desk clerk refused to help her carry her bag up the two flights of stairs to her room.The room itself was horrible. The bed had a sheet and a beadspread on it...no blankets. The bead spread spelled as if it had not been washed in months. The room itself was just not comfortable. The screen was falling off of the window and had a large gap therefore I could not leave the window open as I did not want to get eaten alive by mosquitos.When I talked to the clerk about the additional charge for the room, he was rude, disruptive and would not let me finish my sentence. He said that a reservation is only a phone call and rates can change at any minute. HORRIBLE! I do not recommend this hotel in any way shape or form. I would have left that night and gotten a room across the street at a larger charge if only for the comfort of a nice room with nice employees, however it was very late by the time I got in to the hotel from California and mom was already in bed.
