City Sundries has that small-town vibe as soon as you walk in. It's an old-timey ice cream parlor and lunch spot, with limited seating inside, but an almost unlimited supply of t-shirts that say "Make America Godly Again." (Hmm. I'll just have the Reuben sandwich, thank you.) Actually, I didn't end up getting the Reuben, although someone in my party did and it looked amazing. I got the BLT sandwich, and it had some of the best, crispiest bacon I've had in a while. Also piled on my sandwich was fresh bibb lettuce, tomatoes and mayo, all on toasted white bread. If you want a great BLT, you'll find one at City Sundries. They were super busy when we visited, and I was super hungry and bummed because I thought I might have to wait a long time to get my food, but the lone lady working behind the counter was whipping around taking orders and making food as fast as she could, and she did a great job. I didn't have to wait long at all for my food despite how busy they were. Two interesting things about City Sundries. One, there's a room upstairs with lots of games, a pool table, foosball, an old-school arcade game and couches to sit on and hang out. And two, this place is also a store with lots of gifts to purchase. (I guess that's where the "sundries" part of the name comes in.)

We were recently in Marquette and Lindsborg celebrating our 24th anniversary. We stopped into this sweet shop for an ice cream cone and a double dish of ice cream. The owner was darling. She visited with us, told us of local landmarks to visit, etc. We compared notes on 20 something daughters. She had 2, us 1. I would highly recommend this sweet store. Ice cream was delightful, as well as the owner. We saw that she serves lunch too. We enjoyed looking at her store, as well as visiting. Go there, you won't be disappointed.Loving submitted,Charles and Kathy Ford,Olathe, KS.

Kris hosted our youth program today with our sandwiches and drinks ready when we got there. We all then ordered home made ice cream in bowls, cones, and sundaes! The food was great and the ice cream was perfect! I can't wait to go back since I'm lucky enough to only live 30 minutes away!

Wow! Stopped in Marquette, KS for the m-cycle museum and after coming out noticed the big ice cream cone sign. Turns out the place is substantially as it was when it opened in 1903. In addition to great ice cream treats there's stuff everywhere to look at!Kristine did a great job constructing a sundae for me in their signature waffle bowl and I sided that with a fresh-squeezed lime ade. Laurie had a strawberry shake made with real strawberries and liked it so much I could't get so much as a taste! The locals occupying the other tables were primarily there for the custom sandwiches Kristine makes which looked good too.If you're anywhere near Marquette Kansas, stop in City Sundries!

Old fashion ice cream parlor in beautiful downtown Marquette. Some of the fixtures are from when the soda fountain opened over 100 years ago. Homemade ice cream with a variety of flavors. Also delicious sandwiches. Definitely worth a visit!
