Chuckwagon Restaurant

We were in Meade on medical appts. Both hungry,hubby wanted to check this place out. We loved it! First off, no loud blaring music, much appreciated, as it is nice to hear the person your with. We both ordered breakfast although it was close lunch time. I had the egg scrambler with sausage. Delicious. For what breakfast he ordered but he is ask for biscuit and gravy, Large biscuit and gravy that tasted like homemade, came with it. Excellent coffee also. Atmosphere was calming and service was great. Wish I could remember her name. Doesn't matter, we will be back and soon ,as we want to see the museum.

My sister, and I were very hungry and we were literally in the middle of no where in Kansas, so we finally found a dinner and pulled off and stopped. As soon as we walked in, every was so nice and like gave you an old school feel too it. The waiter Chris, was very nice, came right up to you and asked how we was doing and that we can sit anywhere. Which we did. The place was very clean, and smelled fresh. I got coffee and Oj and my sister got OJ. I ordered a meat lovers breakfast burrito and she ordered a super stuffed omelette and biscuit and gravy. We also got onion rings as well. The food was delicious, very fresh and amazing, the coffee was great as well. I really liked this little place and will definitely be returning. Btw the cinnamon roll is home made and delicious, you must try it, honestly. The customers were all nice as well. Thank you to everyone here.Thanks Chris

Good meal, friendly service, well stocked (and clean) salad bar all packed into a building that doesn't look like much from the outside.It's right on the highway between the towns of "middle of nowhere" and "hole in the wall". The guy who served me was friendly, upbeat, and polite. Reviews of the place on another site were very good.I didn't want much...just a filler for lunch and to get back on the road. So ordered the burger, chips, and a 1-trip to the salad bar.Burger was hot, the fixings were fresh, and the salad bar was full with food that's really good for you that I don't eat. LOL.Listen, the bathrooms are dirty, the hallways need new floors, and the parking lot looks like the surface of the moon. If you're expecting a 5-star meal at Lowry's Steakhouse, you're going to be disappointed.If you want a meal that will settle the cravings and tastes good going down, then you'll do just fine here.

My brother and I were starving, driving through Kansas without anything in sight to stop at, pull over at so we thought it was just an endless drive of corn fields and cows... boy were we wrong, eventually. (That's still all there is though) We just so happen to find a truck stop with a restaurant next door and decided to give this place a try. I'm not going to lie, at first I was kind of skeptical ya know being in a very small town, middle of nowhere in Kansas but as we were walking towards and entering, people were so nice, kind and loving. Everyone smiling, waving and saying hello.. even a baby waved at us (which made my day) lol The waiter was very nice and respectful, super patient with us letting us look over the menu with no rush and kept coming back once in a while to check on us. It was clean inside, even the restroom was clean. First ordering, started off with water and OJ, man that water was pretty tasty (true water lovers understand) it didn't taste like tap; the OJ taste freshly squeezed, if it wasn't it definitely was delicious. Secondly, ordered an super stuffed omelet, MY GOSH it was delicious and literally super stuffed with every type of meat, veggies that go into an omelet you can think of.. It was amazing, especially drizzling salsa all over it lol We also ordered the biscuits and gravy to share and SHEESH that taste so darn fresh and home made I can not believe it. We just came from Wisconsin and after trying each states biscuits and gravy, Kansas blew them out of the WATER!!! I would come back everyday just for that if I could!! Lastly, if you are wanting to finish it all up with a nice dessert.. you've got to try the cinnamon roll! WOOO, it literally melts in your mouth. The dough is so soft, fresh and fluffy I could not believe it. I was waaay too stuffed after eating everything else to want to even try the dessert but my brother insisted on me just taking a bite and after that I was thinking about just ordering my own!! Thank you to Chris, the waiter, as well as the customers (mostly locals seems like, some from out of town) being so friendly and making us feel at home!

The crew is extremely friendly a helpful. Very big inside and parking is able to park big rigs. In small town and all the locals are friendly. Rest room needed attention but mostly clean. The food was very inexpensive. Food was fresh made and not frozen so it was great

My family and I go here often, the food is always good and staff is always friendly. Dishes I've tried that are good are Chicken Fried Chicken, grilled cheese and waffle fries, cheese enchiladas, popcorn shrimp, bacon cheeseburger, French toast, pancakes, all their omelets...and salad bar really good too.

The food was decent the whole ceiling was pouring water on the floor and buckets. We got a bag full of chips in a used grocery bag very unsanitary they put the straws in the drinks for you which is gross we had a hair on a straw from them. But they were very friendly but the environment needs to change

We were passing thru, and so happy to find the Chuck Wagon. Great place for breakfast, which they serve all day. Servers were super friendly and food was delicious and brought out prompt. No complaints!

Fast, courteous service. Stopped here passing through on our way to California. Safe rest area with plenty of parking space for trailers, RVs and trucks. I had biscuits and gravy and it was fantastic. Tipped well and wish them all the best!!

They are open for breakfast!! I just submitted a change for their actual hours, 7am to 7pm. We would have past this place up if my husband hadn't noticed how busy the parking lot was at 8am
