Today I accidentally tore my contact lens. My new ones wouldn't be in until Monday so I called the clinic to see if they could help me out. I work through the weekend and my job/safety depends on my eyesight.I called the office and spoke to the receptionist. I informed her of my dilemma and asked if it would be possible to get a trail pair just to hold me until Monday. She said she would talk to the doctor and see if they could do anything for me. It took them two hours to call me back. The woman that called was different and was very uncaring and unsympathetic. She said that they don't usually give out trial pairs without coming into the office for a contact fitting, which is $38. I told her I had just had a contact fitting within the last couple of months and if that would suffice. She said I would still have to come in for a fitting. Really?? Does an eye change that much in a few months? If so, why are contact prescriptions good for a year???This is the third and final bad customer service experience I will ever have with this office. I would have asked to speak to Dr. Fisher but the last time I had a problem and asked to speak to Dr. Baker I was told by staff that they do not allow patients to speak directly to the doctor. They wouldn't even allow me to leave a voicemail for her. What kind of practice doesn't allow you to speak to your doctor??I could understand the refusal if I called in every two weeks and asked for another trial pair. I don't and this, to me, was situation with exigent circumstances. Is customer service such a meaningless practice for the staff here? Are the doctors aware or just oblivious to how their staff treats patients? Again, this was my third bad experience with this staff concerning customer service. My family of four will be finding another practice, one where staff has a little compassion for their patients. And, I will not be recommending this practice to anyone anymore.

The customer service here is indifferent. My first appointment I waited over 30 minutes after my appointment schedule, when I arrived 20 minutes early... nearly an entire hour of sitting around waiting. After waiting, we started the pre-exam. One of their exams scans the back of the eye so you don't have to have your eyes dilated. Cool right ? Yeah, except they fail to mention it is an additional $40 that you'll have to pay for at the end of the appointment. But it gets better. Once in the exam room, you guessed it, waited some more for the doctor. Not as bad, but another 15 minutes in the room passed, the doctor finally came in. The doctor was super nice, you just have to be patient enough to see them. What was supposed to be an hour or so appointment, turned into a two hour ordeal. I gave them the benefit of the doubt, that maybe it was just an off day for them. But! I've realized this is a normal thing for them. The glasses that I purchased arrived after a few weeks, when I went to go pick them up, they were ordered incorrectly. The prescription wasn't accurate & I had to make another appointment to get it fixed. I went back a few days later to check back in with the doctor, and yes waited .. a lot, to get the prescription rewritten - glasses were sent back out to be remade. Almost two months later than my initial appointment, I've picked up my corrected prescription. I waited in the waiting room for nearly 15 minutes while all of the employees had no regard that I was waiting after i signed in. Talking about their personal lives and what they were going to eat for lunch. Eventually I was able to get my new glasses, and they are correct now.If you want friendly staff, this is the place for that - the employees are truly very kind. However, they have no sense of urgency and do not value your time. I went to the doctor for new glasses because I needed them. I will not be returning.

I love Dr. Fisher. He sees my five year old and is always very friendly, remembers his interests, and keeps talks to both of us the entire time he's examining my son. He engages about his family and makes my son comfortable. I wouldn't see anyone else!

This is a few days late but there's no way I would miss out on reviewing this business. My daughter woke up with severe eye pain and couldn't open her eye. We thought maybe an eyelash, but she was in tears and in pain so we called around to see where we could get her in fast and close to home. I hopped on google and decided to try Child & Family Eyecare on N. Maize. Unable to get us in with a regular appointment since it was so last minute, the front desk woman (sorry can't remember her name) said she would call us back- she was going to try and find an on-call doctor to get us in that day. We hung up, and I told myself I'd give it 10 minutes before trying to locate another optometrist office that could squeeze us in on a Friday morning. Within 5 minutes she called back and told us to head up there. We arrived quickly and were greeted by her at the front desk. She handed my daughter a welcome gift, filled out some paperwork and within 10 minutes were called back to see "Dr Hailey" (can't remember her last name but she said we can just call her Dr Hailey). She efficiently evaluated my daughter's eye, gave her the treatment she needed, and we were on our way back home. My daughter was already feeling better and I was beyond appreciative for this businesses compassion and professionalism. This will be our new eye care facility. No way would we not come back.

I woke up this morning with burning, pain, and irritation in my eye. I waited a few hours but it just wouldn't stop. I don't have an eye Dr and my son is a patient here so I called to see if they could get me in at all. They understand my situation and told me I could come in 10 minutes. I saw Dr Fisher and he was very understanding and knowledgeable and helped me quickly. My eye feels much better. This experience helped me make the decision to go here for all my vision needs. My son goes there because he needed vision therapy, however, I didn't know if I wanted to go there because their exams can cost a little more than the other places, but their customer service and knowledgeable staff have made me decide that it is worth it. I love them!

Been using them for six years and have nothing but positive experiences. Doctors are professional and staff are always helpful. I would definitely recommend to anyone.
