Champs Bar & Grill

I was happy to see that the bar was remodeled and updated with new TVs and decor. The inside of the bar is very well-litted and got great views of all the televisions. The overall menu is a little rough not a lot of options. I would have liked to have seen more options for appetizers being in a bar setting. The service was slow and poor and the food was not much better. I ordered onion rings as an appetizer and bacon cheeseburger with fries for dinner. The onion rings came out pretty quick but they were burnt and not so much onion rings as a onion block ( see photos). It took almost an hour to get my bacon cheeseburger which was lacking in bacon and flavor. which what little piece of bacon was on there seem to be undercooked. On the plus side the owner comp my cheeseburger for taking so long and apologized for the slow service.I understand it was there first night opening and they're working on the bugs. They are going to need a lot more training to bring up the level of this bar. The one thing I noticed is one of the owners was running around helping cleaning and trying to make stuff right and the other owner seemed to just be hang out with his friends drinking and having a good time. He did not seem to be concerned with the lack of service dirty tables or trying to help the situation. I feel like this bar could have a really good outcome if they can improve some of these things. I will definitely be going back in a couple of months to see if improvements have been made. This should give them plenty of time to try to work out all the kinks that they had on their opening night.

Nothing to look at from the outside but one of the best burgers and home cut fries in town!!! Highly recommend!!

Very good food, Mexican, burgers, salads. Fast & Friendly service, reasonable price. Little dark on the lighting.

OK, let's talk about a hole in the wall. This is one of them. From the outside, you wouldn't think much of it. However, I'm telling you, you need to go inside and get the experience. The service was terrific. The food went beyond the service. The burgers, and sides were amazing. Great menu selection and I don't think there's any way you can eat at this place and not have a good experience.

Great place for happy hour meet ups and the amount of tvs is incredible. I think it would be a great place to watch football. There was a big group of us meeting up for year end celebration and the bartender handled it perfectly. She moved tables together for us to sit together. I had a hamburger for dinner and it was cooked perfectly and was delicious. Check out was easy as they went by our names for tracking drinks. I like the place even though I hear it has been recently remodeled, I will return.

They have since been changed to Champs 316They were sold and during the pandemic closed to do a remodel.I have been going to this bar since 2008, was always my favorite hang out spot for drinks and karoke. Once they had the opening I waited a little while and went in, and it was ridiculous! It wasn't busy but you could not get any service. The prices sky rocketed.. they are charging the prices of a high end bar downtown. I tried again recently and they were the same way, only this time the tables were filthy yet it was pretty empty and we never got any service unless we went up to the bar.At closing time 20 til, a rude lady yelled at us, time to go, get out I ain't gettinv a fine for yall!!Absolutely trash. So many years I spent defending this bar when someone would say things ... To be treated that way. And we spent a large amount of money, I brought friends.Never again will they get my service. I will go to other places where they actually appreciate the patrons. The one and only good thing about that place is the bartender who deserves i am sure way more than. She gets. She's amazing. Good luck to them.

HORRIBLE Customer service- the staff carry attitudes that are not condusive to a "sports bar" atmosphere....more like waffle house personalities. RUDE RUDE RUDE I was actually told when I asked (yes I had to ask someone walking around who looked like wait staff, asked if I could order and she was rude and said....I am REALLY busy, you will have to wait. WOW! I couldn't believe it. I managed to keep going back a few more times maybe she was just having a bad day...but nope! Every time...same attitudes, same rude staff.....I felt like I was a bother instead of a valued customer. Never again. I am not sure what has happened since they reopened, but there are a lot of unhappy bartenders and waitresses there. The food can be good at times, especially if this certain cook is there. That is the ONLY positive of this place. They are definitely not putting the customer in service or service for the customer. It has REALLY gone down hill in the last several months unfortunately, because it used to be one of my favorite spots. Now we found a new spot on 31st & Meridian that has a GREAT staff, great food, just GREAT all around CUSTOMER SERVICE! Save yourself the trip to Champs....you will thank me.

We had a 2 day shoot in Wichita for the United Way, and had lunch at Champs which is a nice little "sports" bar. It was a hot summer day, but it was very cool inside Champs,....fun decor, friendly staff, and the food was excellent. We also had 2 of the more famous KC Chiefs with us, and the staff kept us private without being obnoxious about it so we could eat without having distractions of signing autographs for 2 hours. It is billed as a "Denver Broncos" bar, which is why we went,........so you get the reference to that. Our burgers were big and juicy, and the salads were also very fresh,..the whole crew enjoyed their meal and also got a chance to play some pool. They have FANTASTIC pool tables,..its a vibey little place. If your looking for good service, with really good food and a fun atmosphere I suggest you hit up Champs. Just don't root for the Broncos.

I always have a good time here! Great food specials with delicious food! 5$ pitchers every Monday/Wednesday and great happy hour specials!
