Celebrations by Lori

So fortunate to have Celebrations By Lori in my hometown. Excellent variety of baking supplies and the only place I can walk in and buy Cream of Bouquet flavoring for my frosting recipe. Great cakes, cookies, pies and party decor too!

I had the privilege of tasting her sugar cookies and they were the best cookies I had eaten in a very long time! The icing was to die for and the cookies were soft and SO delicious!!! I almost embarrassed myself by eating too many! The cupcakes were great as well but the sugar cookies were just divine, you have definitely gained a new customer and you are well worth the drive from Neosho.

I purchased melting chocolate and a cookie cutter from Celebrations by Lori on December 18, 2017. I used the cookie cutter and put it in the dishwasher with the other cutters I have. It came out of the dishwasher a rusted mess. Yesterday (12/27/17) I took it back to Lori's to ask if this was normal. The lady was squatting down digging around in a bottom cabinet when I came in, and she never stood up. I showed her the cutter and asked if this was normal, and she asked if I had put it in water? I told her I put it in the dishwasher and she said, "yeah, you can't do that." That was all and she went back to digging around in the bottom cabinet. I threw the cutter in her trash and walked out. Apparently, repeat customers are not a big deal with her. And, apparently, shop Pittsburg is no longer a big deal with me.

The first thing I tried from Lori's was her cookies. There was a company in Joplin that made cookies who we used, however they switched to airbrushing the cookies. I don't like airbrushed cookies as well as iced cookies. Lori's are perfect every time! She decorates them by hand daily and they are beautiful as well as delicious! They are only $12 a dozen which is a ridiculous price! It is still cheaper for me to drive 45 minutes to Pittsburg to get a dozen of Lori's cookies rather than pick up a dozen in Joplin!!! Her cakes are so amazing also! I'm using her for my wedding cake/cupcakes/cookies/choc covered strawberries at my wedding this year. I love that her chocolate covered strawberries are only $12 a dozen as well! The other people making choc covered strawberries charge almost $50 for them! I have tried ordering cookies from companies in Joplin, but they never look as good and they are never as cheap as hers! Now she has these things called "cake poppers" which have become a huge hit. They are like cake in a push pop container. It's about the amount of one cupcake. So cute and so tasty! Try her out! She's the best!

I drive almost 3 hours for the delicious goodness that are Lori's Honey Dough cookies. These cookies are nothing like I have ever tasted before and so incredibly soft. The hand decorated cookies are always the cutest and the girls in the shop are so sweet! Giving a five star rating because 10 star wasn't an option!!

My absolute favorite place to grab cookies, order cupcakes/cakes/cookies from. I have yet to try one of the pies, but they look and smell so good! Lori and her staff are ALWAYS kind to everyone who walks in the doors. She will always be my go-to for dessert orders!

Buyer beware - I decorate cookies, and after recently moving to the area was looking for a locally-owned place to buy supplies. I noticed that the price tags were placed over the 'use by' date on their gel coloring. I didn't think much of it, but I pulled up a corner of the price tag and the bottle had expired in 2018. I finally found what I needed at the back of the display that was not expired. Moved on to extracts/flavoring. This time the price sticker was over the 'use by' date, and further secured by being wrapped with scotch tape. There is no possible way this wasn't intentional. I peeled off the tape, pulled up a corner of the price tag, and this one expired in 2017! I will not be shopping here - I guess if Walmart doesn't have what I need, I will order from Amazon. Not only is their product YEARS out of date, but they are dishonest enough to try & make sure the shoppers don't realize it.

I have used Celebrations by Lori for a long time about 10 years. She has made our wedding cake, baby shower cakes, birthday cakes, and cookies for school. I honestly have never had anything taste bad or look bad. All the cakes and cookies always look better than I could have imagined. Also has the best tasting cake icing, I have found. I think her prices are good especially for things I just have to order and not worry about again. You might see if she still has VIP cards that let you get free items after so many purchases. Only down side is she books up fast for cakes in May due to graduations, birthdays, weddings (but this is a good thing to look for)
