Cattleman's Cafe II

I was in Liberal for work, and needed some dinner. Cattleman caught my eye for some good down home cooking. I love some country fried steak so I came here for that.I got seated quickly. The service was really good. The waitress was super friendly, very helpful. I got the country fried steak, mashed potatoes and gravy and fried okra. Man, what a meal. ! I really enjoyed it. The catch fried steak was huge. I ate part and took the rest to eat for breakfast the next morning. Everything came out hot and tastyI was very happy with my meal here I would come back.

We have been stopping here for 35 years as we drive thru. Their chicken fried steak is still the best I've had. And I order it often. The cream gravy is soooo good on the fluffy mashed potatoes. The size of the steak is smaller and price higher. But worth it. A good cut of meat. My husband had the grilled pork chops that were juicy and tasty. Thanks for keeping this alive.

Roadside cafe ; boring menu ; food in bulk - keep driving.Ambiance needs attention and some major upgrades.

Traveling through and definitely made a mistake by stopping here. We don't judge a diner by looks or age. But the cleanliness was well below par. New server who quite apparently had not been trained. Didn't receive sides with meal and server didnt come back to table to see if we need anything additional, so when we finally went up to pay (didn't receive check at table) explained that we hadn't received full order. Cashier went to get manager and she said she couldn't make adjustment, that she didn't have authority. Asked to talk to owner, we spoke to him on phone he was unprofessional and rude. Said he would not make adjustment because sides are "free". Yet each side has a price on menu.I told owner I would be giving a review and his response was "we don't use reviews". not sure what he thinks a review is. Don't waste your money at this restaurant.

The staff was extremely friendly. The food was delicious. I had the open-facedBattered MushroomsHot Beef Sandwich beef sandwich and it was the best I had in years. The cashier was extremely helpful and made me feel like I was the only customer. The facility was very clean and made me feel that they took the COVID crisis seriously. The food smelled so good that I forgot to take a picture before digging in.

Great chicken fried steak and friendly service.Plenty of options to choose from, hope to pass through town again and try something different.

No doubt the steaks are excellent, but I opted for the pot roast dinner - which was at least as good as Momma used to make! My wife had the Sunday special lasagna, equally excellent. Our server,Julie, went above and beyond to ensure we had everything just right. I'll second others who have observed that the fried okra deserves special mention. I only wish we lived close!

Glad to see that the economy hasn't hit the portions in this restaurant. You definitely get your moneys worth here as the prices are extremely reasonable.Exceptional service and delicious food is what you will experience here.Very clean restaurant and cozy atmosphere.I am a catfish aficionado, but the server was pushing me towards the house specialty = chicken fried steak. She didn't let me down as it was delicious. I have had some chewy CF Steaks before and this one was nothing of the ordinary.

It's not open to do business. I was looking forward to sinking my teeth into a succulent steak and my heart was hurt.
