Cafe 88

It's the Asian restaurant closest to campus. They offer spice levels that are only fairly accurate. I ordered a 4/5 and it seemed closer to medium spice. Oh Midwestern palates! The service was fair and the food came out hot in a reasonable amount of time. It's very much small mom and pop. Definitely Americanized for the college students.

I have only tried the beef fried rice, but it was right on! Not too greasy and full of flavor. I also liked that the beef was cut really small. Usually, the meat is big chunks, but not today!! With recently moving here from a bigger city, I was skeptical that this kind of food was going to be possible. Thankfully, that is not the case. Can't wait to go back.

I discovered this gem in college ages ago and very happy I did. I make it a point to stop by whenever I'm in Oklahoma. My son is also a fan and frequently requests to eat here. SO good!!!

Cafe 88 was on a list of recommendations from the hotel I was staying at. I was warned it might be closed but was happy to find it still open. I arrived and started reading through their large menu, asking about what seemed as though it should be a more savory dish I was informed it was actually sweet. Being diabetic this wasn't going to work for me. So I asked for a savory and non-spicy option and was directed at the Kung Pao Chicken, when I asked about it being spicy I was told it wasn't spicy unless you wanted it to be. I said I would try that then, based on this assurance. I was also disappointed to find the bubble tea did not offer sweetness options as is generally standard, so I couldn't order one. The time it took to get my order was reasonable, when I got to my hotel I found it to look fresh and be a good portion size for the cost. Unfortunately I was unable to eat more than a few bites as it was very spicy. All in all it was a waste of my time and my money. When I make my next visit to Stillwater this will not be on my list of options.

One Dish that Beats the Rest. Fried Rice! It's real nice.The Crispy Mapo Tofu wasn't at all crispy which was a bummer :( But!The fried rice is stellar and worth coming back for!

I was in Stillwater for an appt. I stopped in for a boba tea. It smelled so good in there I also ordered some pork pot stickers and there was a sign saying try their new sesame balls with red bean paste. These are the most amazing things I have ever tasted. The dough was soft and sweet and crispy and the bean paste didn't gap (have air bubbles) inside. They are absolute heaven! Also the boba was fresh and the Thai tea was great! The parking was weird and unexpected but I'm not from here so I guess that could be a me thing.

I have heard great things about Cafe 88 but was a little nervous after reading the reviews. We went on a Monday night and it was not busy at all. We got orange beef and bourbon mushroom chicken. I had gotten fried rice with mine and i am a fan of veggies in my fried rice so that is always a pleasant surprise when trying new asian restaurants! The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu! We are avid fans of Mongolian beef from China Wok in south Oklahoma and was very surprised with the orange beef being so similar! We will definitely be back. I do think the prices per serving size are smaller compared to other Chinese/asian restaurants.

Great food. Was my obsession in college! Saw it on here and needed to give it a review. If you are an osu student you need to try this!

We ordered take out and it was our first time trying Cafe 88. My family and I were so disappointed in the food. Everything tasted as if it was premade frozen food that you can get at Walmart in the frozen food section. I would go to Panda Express before going back to this place.
