"Firebirds is a reliably solid American style cuisine national chain. I've visited locations across several states and they're dependably good. I typically go for their burgers, salads, and good bar areas."
"My wife and I were invited to a business appreciation dinner. I had never been to S&S before this. Even with a more limited menu chosen by the people who invited us all I was pleasantly surprised. Good food, great atmosphere."

"Excellent food and service, the outside patio is nice maybe the best steak around..I would definitely recommend Chester's and the drinks are good as they should be inSuch a nice place this,I'll be back,a little pricey but we'll worth it..."
"This was a wonderful surprise on our way through KS! The place is small, but it is very nicely decorated and the staff is very welcoming. My husband and I got the burgers, beer cheese app, and the banana foster cheesecake and everything was amazing! The burger was one of the best I've had in a very long time. I wish this was closer to home!"
"Please do not be fool by the good pictures. I was disappointed and not impressed by the rolls. The sashimi plate were not as fresh except for the salmon. The sashimi fish were put on top of little tree branches which were not clean. The rolls were filled with too much rice and cucumbers. It barely had any avocado/fish/crab. The rolls were not put together properly. I watched the lady rolled the sushi and she did a sloppy job. The shrimp tempura was stale and had the freezer aftertaste. I will not come back here again. I realized a lot of people had good reviews but they are most likely came in to eat for fried rice, bento and hibachi food, not for their sushi. They said up to 50% of sushi but really it is not any cheaper than other sushi place. If you want good sushi, do not come here."
"My buddy and I were in Wichita for the night on our way home from New York. As one does in Kansas, we immediately tracked down a steakhouse and rolled out (stopping by a couple local breweries on the way, of course). Upon arrival, we were greeted by the host, Bri, who was nothing short of spectacular. She was attentive and hilarious, putting up with a couple of guys who'd enjoyed 3-4 heavy IPAs and were feeling no pain. Simply put, Bri is awesome and an asset to Siena! The service and food were excellent... Decent prices for what you get, though certainly not on the cheap end of the spectrum. Well worth it for the ambience and level of attentiveness demonstrated by everyone.Just to reiterate, Bri is AWESOME, the steaks were excellent, and the experience all-around great. Five stars without question!"
"Food is unique and delicious. Good prices. Service with a smile. Open to Public, attached to hotel. Brisket Soup with Red Peppers is a winner"
"Nice spot with a great view of the golf course. Service and food were both above average. Double pork chop was very tender and flavorful. My wife declared the BLT to be the best she's ever had. Definitely recommend."
"I would give this place 10 stars if I could! Service was great from the bar to when we sat down for dinner! The food was delicious! Seasoned and cooked to perfection. Their garlic fried rice along was 10 stars for me it was sooo good! I ordered chicken, steak and scallops. Next time I'm back in Wichita I will for sure be back here!"
"Really good service. I've been traveling all day and I look like crud and no matter crazy I look they didn't treat me any different. They are very kind and the FOOD is soooo delicious . The steak is sooo tender. The salmon has rosemary on it and very unique in flavor from what I'm used too. The atmosphere is very calming and I love that it's dark and gives a romantic feel to it. I took pictures of my food already half eaten but thought I should post it any ways."
"The restaurant was nice the waiter very nice the food. The flavor has left the building. Not sure what they were thinking of. They needed a little more into their food right now."

Service was terrific from hostess to bartender to our fabulous server - in fact, if I had to take away any percentage points on rating, the food came out too fast, we were barely half way through salad course, when the entries arrived and unceremoniously dropped off (expeditor not our server). Food was wonderful, well-proportioned, colorful and flavorful. The atmosphere was "fine" - apersonal, nonoffensive, barely upscale, boring. Had a great Valentines Day! The balloons were a nice touch.

Came to the Chesters and ordered the prime rib, cocktail shrimp, and beef carpaccio. The steak was cooked a little more done than medium rare but it was still juicy, garlicky, and well seasoned. I've had bigger cocktail shrimp before, but the MP was lower than I'm used ro paying for so it was worth it and definitely fresh. I really enjoyed the beef carpaccio. Fresh raw beef, a sharp cheese accompanied with tiny chips and a salad to brighten the flavor profile. All in all i'd definitely come back. Our server whom I can't recall the name at the moment was very pleasant. Cheers!

They are understaffed, so things moved a little slow. But considering they had one bartender, 1 server, and 1 host running a full restaurant, I was impressed. The food was amazing and totally worth the wait. Our server suggested the Mac and cheese, and it was tasty, but not something I'd come back for. The brisket sandwich was really tender and had great flavor- loved the bbq sauce and the honey mustard. The sweet potato fries were up there with the best I'd ever had- perfectly crispy and tender with just a little salt. The banana fosters cheesecake was downright sinful- candied nuts with caramel and banana slices on top of a thickly cut slice of cheesecake. I may have tried to stab my husband with a spoon to get an extra bite. Lots of beer choices, although I was hoping for some options from the local shops in Hays. We had the peach wheat from Breckinridge brewery in co and a Hefeweizen from the oldest brewery in Bavaria. Both were excellent- the hefweizen was the perfect pair with the cheesecake. Absolutely would come back to try more from their bar as well as their other food and the turtle cheesecake.

I got the chicken and steak hibachi. The steak was just okay but very "chewy" and the chicken didn't have much flavor. Fried rice wasn't bad hence the two stars. My husband got the maki platter sushi and wasn't impressed either. We had to ask for beverage refills too. They were very friendly though. Unfortunately, I don't think we'll be back.

Stuck in Wichita during the January polar vortex and the only place to eat was the restaurant in the hotel. Fortunately it was amazing! The food was outstanding and the service just as wonderful! Get the carbonara... so good!

It's taken me years to finally dine here. I have always heard mixed reviews about this place. We dined recently as a group and I would say most of our group was happy about our food and the service we received. The brussels sprouts appetizer was good (loved the bacon on it). The salmon was cooked just right. My husband's ribeye was delicious, too. I will definitely add this place into our rotation. I noticed a lot of other groups there, too.

"We were in Abilene to meet up with some family and this place was recommended as a great local spot. I feel like in each small town there are often some great hidden gems that the locals frequent and this is definitely one for Abilene. The M&R is unpretentious, and welcoming, but also clean and friendly. I was impressed at how kind the staff was, even to a bunch of out of towners, as I could tell the place was largely full of locals. The food we had was good, and fresh, and it was overall a great spot to meet up. I'd definitely consider it if looking for a local restaurant again in the area."
"In June of 2019, I participated in Biking Across Kansas and Holton was our last overnight before our eighth and final day of riding into Atchison. I was so taken by the friendliness of the people of the quaint town, I have wanted to revisit it ever since. So, on a beautiful Sunday afternoon, we took the top off of the Jeep and took some back roads to Holton from our home in Lenexa. Being Sunday, businesses on the town square were closed but Boomer's, just a block or so off the square, was open.My wife had the broasted chicken special and I ordered a cheeseburger. Service was good, although a large group seemed to have disrupted things a bit. Food was served promptly, hot and tasty. We split a piece of their strawberry pie--outstanding!If ever in Holton again, we'd definitely stop in."
"Eh a solid three in Kansas is probably a five all things considered for sushi. Service was prompt and thorough. I ordered edamame, and egg rolls and two sushi rolls. Egg rolls were deep fried and tasty but greasy in a good way. The $5 plum saki was ok. Edamame was as expected. The two rolls looked good but they just didn't hit the spot. I left all but two bites of the deep fried roll behind. Tasted like sausage inside. That was oddNothing terrible but I wouldn't come back. By 7pm it was getting busy on a Wednesday night."
"Nice adult atmosphere. Food / cocktails are excellent. Check out the Salina mural in the back dining room"
"Sushi in Kansas. Yes, I tempted fate and survived. After hearing rave reviews from a couple coworker, I decided to check it out and order some takeout. Now, when you order online it says it will take 30-40 mins to prepare your order. So I waited about 30 minutes ran an errand and stopped by to wait yet another 20-30 minutes in the resultant for my order. Now the staff was friendly but waiting over an hour for two rolls was not what I had expected my evening to consist of. Finally getting home the sushi itself was alright, as one of the few sushi places in Emporia I may try it again but honestly was unimpressed. The staff was helpful and did include the extra sauces I asked for which I really appreciated."
"Awesome and authentic Kansas steakhouse. Highly recommended.Excellent locally grown steak. Great stuff. Navigate cool eclectic interior. Really felt like I was in Kansas!"
"Phenomenal steaks.I have eaten many steaks, at many fine restaurants. I cannot recall better. Between us we had three cuts: ribeye, filet, and strip? And they were all just fantastic. We all had the same side, which you have to ask for: loaded mashed potatoes. They aren't on the menu, but get them! Our appetizer, Clothesline Bacon, was fun and tasty. So we're our cocktails. Is it pricey? Yes. Is it worth the money? Absolutely. Phenomenal steak. Just phenomenal."
"Delicious food! Clean and friendly atmosphere. Don't pass through Liberal KS and miss this place. Great service."
"I had the udon noodles and a couple rolls of sushi - all delivered by a great waitress. Awesome atmosphere and amazing food. If their dine in experience is this good, hibachi must be even better. I will be going back."
"Amazing Valentines meal at Three Fires steakhouse. The sea bass was amazing, service was very good. Fantastic special menu with a lot of goodies"
"My husband said his steak was the best he has ever eaten. Service was terrific in this family owned restaurant."
"What a great stumble-upon! We came here and I was instantly portaled into a movie scene of a cowboy lover's restaurant! It's soooo cool! Can't find something like this in Hawaii! The owner shared a story with us, and our waitress was an angel. The food was really good!"
"I like dives: The food is usually remarkable because few customers will tolerate inferior food and sketchy atmosphere. How many ways does Wagon Wheel qualify as a dive?Side road location. Check. Nondescript, industrial metal building --possibly old storage shed--with minimal signage to announce its presence. Check. Dirt parking lot. Check. Worn interior with 60s-era bar feel. Check.Billiard table in the dining room. Double check: 2 tables. Wagon Wheel is divided between bar and dining area, though the line between them is hazy. I hoped to find a little known spot I'd return to again and again for the steak other Yelpers salivated over. It is little known--judging by the lack of reviews--but I won't return and didn't try the steak. Steaks change daily so call before arriving to learn what's on the menu. Tonight, it was ribeye for $30, or "surf & turf"-- the same thing plus two shrimp for an additional $6. My server explained the steaks are approximately a pound of meat. Dining alone, that's more than I wanted. Both choices would have also put me over my dinner per diem. So, I went with chicken wings--8 for $10--plus a fried mushroom appetizer. WW has several wing sauce options and I thought I'd try 2 or 3. "The chef says 'no' because we make our own sauces," I was told--which didn't really explain why I couldn't mix them. The fried mushrooms came out quickly, hot, and tasty with a heavy, seasoned batter. However, the $3.99 charge felt pricey for four slices--not even a whole large mushroom. Parmesan garlic wings arrived just after finishing the mushroom and were also hot. They were tasty also with a super crispy coating but not remarkable. At supper time midweek when I wasn't dining alone there were 2-3 other parties present, so I had attentive service. But, it was slow for the staff, which filled time describing in street language faults of other employees, and diners' incorrect opinions about how food should be prepared. I wouldn't call Wagon Wheel a steakhouse. I'd say it's the place for an authentic roadhouse atmosphere and menu."
"My brother and I were starving, driving through Kansas without anything in sight to stop at, pull over at so we thought it was just an endless drive of corn fields and cows... boy were we wrong, eventually. (That's still all there is though) We just so happen to find a truck stop with a restaurant next door and decided to give this place a try. I'm not going to lie, at first I was kind of skeptical ya know being in a very small town, middle of nowhere in Kansas but as we were walking towards and entering, people were so nice, kind and loving. Everyone smiling, waving and saying hello.. even a baby waved at us (which made my day) lol The waiter was very nice and respectful, super patient with us letting us look over the menu with no rush and kept coming back once in a while to check on us. It was clean inside, even the restroom was clean. First ordering, started off with water and OJ, man that water was pretty tasty (true water lovers understand) it didn't taste like tap; the OJ taste freshly squeezed, if it wasn't it definitely was delicious. Secondly, ordered an super stuffed omelet, MY GOSH it was delicious and literally super stuffed with every type of meat, veggies that go into an omelet you can think of.. It was amazing, especially drizzling salsa all over it lol We also ordered the biscuits and gravy to share and SHEESH that taste so darn fresh and home made I can not believe it. We just came from Wisconsin and after trying each states biscuits and gravy, Kansas blew them out of the WATER!!! I would come back everyday just for that if I could!! Lastly, if you are wanting to finish it all up with a nice dessert.. you've got to try the cinnamon roll! WOOO, it literally melts in your mouth. The dough is so soft, fresh and fluffy I could not believe it. I was waaay too stuffed after eating everything else to want to even try the dessert but my brother insisted on me just taking a bite and after that I was thinking about just ordering my own!! Thank you to Chris, the waiter, as well as the customers (mostly locals seems like, some from out of town) being so friendly and making us feel at home!"
"Stopped by about 5 minutes before closing. We had just finished a 10 baseball stadiums in 10 days....we were traveling thru Kansas, we hadn't eaten since breakfast. Our waitress never made us feel rushed and shared the daily special with us.Our food was fresh, warm and tasty. Especially the warm bread they served...yum.We are from California and truly appreciate their hospitality they shared with us.Our waitress was super awesome!!"
"I Went in with a group of 17 oilfield workers. The servers did really good! They brought pictures of drink instead of refilling cups 2 at a time, smart. Margarita burger is pretty good, ask for a slice of cheese on top and it's the best ever!"
"Absolutely delicious food oh, great amount for the price. Server was courteous knowledge and always had a smile when coming and checking on the table. Was there on December 5th about 5:30 p.m. was crowded but very nice atmosphere, would highly recommended we drove 30 miles for it each way and was well worth our trip will be back again"
