"On our previous visits to Caldwell, Mi Pueblito was not open for breakfast. We were pleasantly surprised to be able to have breakfast here this visit. I didn't have high hopes for Mexican cuisine in Kansas but we were once again pleasantly surprised. The restaurant is clean. The food is great. And the employees are super hard working and amazingly friendly. We will definitely be eating more meals here!"
"Food is ok. Service is always very friendly. Restaurant needs a little update and play some good music."

"I'm still thinking about the cup of fruit I was served with my breakfast. It was one of those things that didn't look like much -- just a small bowl of red grapes, blueberries, pineapple, green apple and strawberries. But the fruit was cut up precisely, and it was tossed in a citrus dressing with poppy seeds sprinkled on top. It was refreshing and nourishing, and I highly recommend getting fruit if your breakfast offers it as a side. And if it doesn't, it's worth it to get a side of fruit!I was so impressed with my fruit that I almost completely ignored the avocado toast that was my main breakfast dish. The avocado toast is served on a hearty wheat bread, toasted, with smashed fresh avocado and halved grape tomatoes, and crushed red pepper sprinkled on top. You get two eggs on the side, and I got over-medium eggs. The eggs and avocado toast and fruit was like a vitamin shot straight into my bloodstream, and I left the table feeling satisfied and deeply nourished. My healthy breakfast was followed by a house-made lemon hand pie (Pop'd Heart), which had lemon curd inside and sprinkles on top. It was delicious and perfect for people who love the crust part of a pie (like me). I visited HomeGrown with a group, so we ordered some lemon ricotta pancakes for the table. They were good, but you couldn't really taste the lemon. We needed more lemon! Apparently, the thing to order here is the salsa verde pork & egg. It's a popular dish, and judging by what it looks like, it looks like it would taste amazing. The coffee at HomeGrown is great. They serve it to you in big carafes that are placed on the table, so you serve yourself. I drink black coffee, and the coffee by itself, with nothing to alter it, was fantastic."
"This is a quaint little place for a decent ice cream treat. Hubby had a chocolate malt and I had the 2 dip banana split. Relaxed atmosphere and great service. Would definitely stop again if we ever come back that way."
"I came upon this place from researching the area prior to my trip. Although I don't really watch morning shows, my interest was piqued when I noticed Sommerset won "Best Pie in America" on Good Morning America. Even Diane Sawyer wanted a pie here for her yacht on Christmas. Getting here from Topeka was somewhat uneventful. You drive through cow pastures and fields. There isn't very much around on the way here. However, I did see various animals (dead or alive) on the road, such as deer, a large rodent-like creature, and a snake. The immediate vicinity reveals that there's not much going on here, save for this institution. The coconut cream pie was what put this spot on the map. I wish I had room for other ones that I might've been interested in, such as the apple crumb pie. However, the coconut cream pie isn't all hype. The crust, while not quite as flavorful as fully buttered crusts, was quite flaky. The two layers of the pie were fantastic. The custard underneath had the right amount of sweetness and it was smooth throughout. The meringue was frothy and smooth. There was enough toasted coconut on top. Service was friendly and cordial. If you find yourself in Topeka, Sommerset is worth a side-trip."
"I give it a 4 because of the chicken fried steak, real mashed potatoes, and good white gravy. I presume the chicken fry is hand breaded in the restaurant, at least it is not the pre-breaded steaks which most restaurants are now serving. The mashed potatoes were homemade, and the gravy did not taste like it came out of a jar. The salad is just iceberg lettuce with some shredded cheese on the top, but at least they serve the dressing on the side. It comes with either roll or biscuit, and corn.As the other poster mentioned there is smoking in a Keno room which is attached to the restaurant, so be sure and sit far away from the entrance."
"Someone recommended this place and decided to give it a try. I ordered the Love Club. It was delicious, and I'd absolutely order it again! The only thing I wish it came with was a pickle. They seem to pickle a lot of things, and a nice, crisp homemade pickle spear would have made that sandwich an 11!My wife had the #13 Kelce Jam. She didn't say much because she was too busy eating. She eventually said that it all blended together very nicely and all of the ingredients complemented each other VERY well.My mother had the Rubin, and this was where the only "complaint" came in. Rubin's are most often grilled, and the sandwich was listed on the "hot sandwich" menu, but it wasn't grilled. So the sandwich wasn't what she was looking forward to. She said that the ingredients were all very flavorful. And though she was initially hesitant about the pickled turnips, she said they actually made a nice substitution for the sauerkraut. She said that had it been grilled, it would have been perfect! We've already made plans to return on Sunday and try out more of their menu!"
"Ordered lunch for my husband and me. It was delivered within 20 minutes and was piping hot! The food was delicious! We will definitely be ordering more from here in the future."
"Fabulous brunch with lots of variety! The adult drinks really made the morning. Appreciate being able to get on the waitlist EARLY - highly recommend doing that too as the wait was up to 90 minutes at one point in the morning. Restaurant was a little chilly and loud due to all the people inside. We always come here when we visit Wichita."
"Cute little remodeled place. Used to be Little Ceasar's. The food is excellent. Well crafted, quite tasty. Ambiance is quaint, cozy, 9ntimate. Not a fan of the chairs, but if that's all I have to com0pa8n about, we'll that's no big deal. Service is great! Where we sat, you could watch the cook prepare your meal. Turn around and take a selfie via the huge mirror, which helps make the seating area bigger. Come try it for yourself!Almost forgot! There is a big wallboard full of pics of drinks. Sugar free options. Well.. no sugar added, I should say. I had the watermelon slush one. Tasty!"
"They have been probably the best almond croissant I've ever had in my life! Cannolis were too sweet for me, more like frosting filling instead of ricotta. Again, personal preference but I also wished the red velvet frosting had more cream cheese flavor."
"Love their gluten free options for pizza! It's so hard to find a place that actually has decent gluten free products"

My wife and I were in the area for a wedding. Decided to try this place. Glad we did. The food was delicious. We'll be sure to eat here again when back in the area.

Be sure to get on the waitlist in advance of arriving because it can get pretty packed. The fresh juices they have are delicious -- I got an orange juice and my partner got the carrot based juice. We split the rotating pop tart flavor and it was great. The icing was very sweet but the pastry itself and the filling were very flavorful and not overly sweet. For our actual meals, we got their french toast (one cinnamon and one pistachio). The pistachio was almost like a cake flavor and was my favorite out of the two.

Good hamburger and I like the banana splits. You get to choose the different flavored ice cream and toppings.

Used to be a favorite but my last two visits reflect a slide in quality and service. The latest visit, we waited 40 minutes for a hamburger which was delivered without any lettuce, tomato, pickle or onions, even though we were told to expect such. Additionally, there were no French fries available that day, nor was there any pie (although I understand the reason for that). Here's hoping things get back to normal soon.

Wish I could give this place 0 stars. This place is the worst I have ever had in Wichita Kansas. They serve an all you can eat chicken fried steak, chicken, or catfish nuggets on this day. I ordered the catfish nuggets which comes with two side orders. I ordered the green beans and a salad. The salad is just lettuce out of a bag with some dressing sloth on top in one of those fake wood bowls. The green beans had no seasoning and we're very bland. Now comes the worst part, the catfish nuggets we're like some frozen mush warmed up in a microwave or an oven with no seasoning, no flavor, and no crispness. The fish was mushy on the inside with absolutely no seasoning. I mean not even any salt. The restaurant also includes a smoke bar where you can play keno. Just lovely right. Anyway you can get a better meal at a homeless shelter.

Such a lovely spot! This is a brand new restaurant from a husband & wife duo and the food is so delicious. I highly recommend checking out the super creative specials they come up with. Cute vibes, great food, and they even make their own bagels - how cool is that?! Go here next chance you get.

Good food. Nice staff. But wow, they need to figure out how much they need to pay staff in order to retain them and be able to appropriately serve the customers. I saw two customers walk out because it was taking too long to order and there is nobody to clean the dining room. All empty tables were dirty. I had to clean my own table with water and a napkin.

"I come from Kansas City and I am working in Salina temporarily. I have been here twice and I really enjoy it. I haven't got to try everything on the menu yet but their sushi is top notch and I really enjoy the chicken fried udon entree. The service is great, and it hasn't ever been a long wait to pick up my food. We have many great places like this in KC, so I am extremely happy to find this place here during my 3 month stint. Honestly this place could move and open to KC and probably put several places out of business. The only negative I would give is- a larger portion of wasabi for the sushi order. I have no problem asking for it, and I will going forward. PS: a must eat if in Salina and you like this type of food. She does an amazing job and always smiling."
"Brisket goes toe to toe with anything in Texas or Kansas. Top notch. Amazing owner. Loves BBQ. Super customer friendly"
"What a wonderful find in a small town. The restaurant was full of local workers, a great sign that the food is good. The mural on the entrance is cute. The ice is the great barrel kind. I was one of a party of four. We all really enjoyed our lunch. Chicken chimichanga was good. Lunch (mixed) fajitas had more meat than veggies and was really good! The quesabirria (daily special) was so delicious. And I really enjoyed the enchiladas Suizas. I will stop here when I travel in the future."
"We had a nice, quick lunch while in Concordia to visit the nearby Orphan Train Museum. Great menu of hamburgers, salads and meat dishes. The patty melt was great! Lots of sweet caramelized onions on fresh rye bread with Swiss cheese and a large patty. The Cobb Salad with very good, too. We appreciated the fast and attentive service so we could get on our way."
"1st visit with a coworker who has visited before. Great vibe. Casual, comfortable, interesting. Shishito pepper appetizer is on lots of other restaurants' menus, but this is the best version I've had. The Domestic Battery burger was ridiculous! If you like garlic and onions, it won't disappoint. The flavor was not over the top, nice balance, big burger but good enough to eat more than you should! Great fries, too. Service was friendly, good suggestions. Welcome addition to Russell."
"We are from out of town and when I accidentally sent my online order to the wrong restaurant, Brecken stepped in to save the day! Without hesitation she 100% put the customer first even though the err was completely my fault. She is an asset!"
"Who knew I'd have one of the best meals of the year in a tiny town in Kansas? Chef Stan's Place is housed in a restored church, and features a paired down menu of brunch and lunch items. And when I say paired down, I mean there are literally five options to choose from, plus three desserts. There's also a soup (whatever Stan feels like making that day) and a salad (a house salad with spring lettuces, bleu cheese crumbles, tomatoes, corn and pepperoncinis). Everything is made by Chef Stan himself, and made with local ingredients -- sometimes harvested right from the garden that he keeps out back. Quiche is a popular choice here and always on the menu, so I had to get that. Stan likes to change up the flavors of the quiche, and when I visited, it was a Mediterranean quiche, with feta and greens. The crust disintegrated in my mouth, it was so tender. Also on the menu was an egg salad sandwich, served face-up on a thick, toasted slice of sourdough bread; a grilled cheese; ravioli; and a pulled chicken sandwich. For dessert, I was told that the Magic Cookie Bars are the thing to get, and my dining companion got one. It takes like 15 minutes to make (Stan bakes them fresh), but they are worth the wait. The Magic Cookie Bars are a cookie crust layered with chocolate chips, shredded coconut and topped with chopped walnuts, all baked together with condensed milk. They're rich and gooey, and definitely something that can be shared with the table.I also had to try the lemon tart, which was bright with just the right amount of lemon in a shortbread crust. And because I couldn't just taste two of the three desserts offered, I also got a chocolate chip cookie for the road. It was a great choice. Chef Stan's Place is a small and intimate restaurant, but casual and comforting. While I was there, a series of regulars came through -- either to dine in or get something to go. The server knew them by name. If you visit, you definitely want to dine in and stay a while. This is a simple and beautiful restaurant, with views out of the church windows of the lovely prairie outside."
"I am a die hard doc greens fan and have eaten it for YEARS. But lately within the last year, I'm not sure if it is a staffing issue, but it seems like they have not been caring what they put out. My regular order is the Buffalo Tenders Panini and it used to be SO CONSISTENT AND SO GOOD. Nowadays, I'm never really sure what I'm going to get :( most days they use pita as the bread instead without warning and then the other day, I got a doordash and they sent me a deconstructed panini (added in photos). It was so strange. If doc greens could be what it was before the service and quality went downhill, it would be thriving."
"Delicious small pizzas! 1st time here, great place for a small town local restaurant. It's a walk up counter and the pizza came out quick. Wood fire pizza is one of my favorite kinds. The place has lots of transportation decor."
"My "Go To" place in Perryton. The food is delicious!! Linda knows my order whenI walk in and the staff is great!"
"We love freedom chophouse! Best restaurant in NW OK. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu. The lobster bisque is to die for, 10/10, have to every time because we just cannot get enough and we usually get a order to take home as well. Favorite steak is the thick cut rib eye. It's always cooked to perfection. The service is stellar and it is never a long wait!"
"One of my favorite places to grab a bite. Fantastic vibe, decent service, tasty cocktails."
"We took my dad here who is from out of town and he was amazed! We told him how consistent the food and service is at homegrown! He got the avocado toast with over easy eggs, the honey bee latte, I got the iron man scramble, and my husband got the pigs sandwich. No matter what the food is great! Only thing that would make it better is a better management of the noise - putting a noise reflector above the tables so it's easier to talk to your table. The front is always super busy and nowhere to wait. All in all it's one of the best in town!"
"We loved Pour House when it was in this space, and Ziggy's has turned into a staple for our family. The Depot is the best of both! Great service and awesome drinks pairs well with the Nashville Hot pizza. The patio seems nice when it's not a million degrees, and I didn't see any bums and only saw a few hippy liberals."
"This is one of my favorite Chinese restaurants. The food is always prepared fresh. We love the Pepper Steak and the Sweet and Sour Chicken. The sweet and sour sauce has a really good flavor. The Crab Rangoon is always crispy and delicious!"
"Great subs and great service. We were visiting family in Salina, and they suggested Spicoli's. It reminded me a lot of Planet Sub in Kansas City/Lawrence. Deliciously toasted subs with lots of meat and great accompaniments. Service was great and the subs arrived quickly. They were hot and delicious. I recommend the dirty hippie club as well as the power nap meatball sub."
"Went in today for drinks. Wasn't busy but it took the barista a half hour to make 5 drinks and 3 of them were made incorrectly."
"Nice, local basic Mexican food, nice size portions and reasonable prices. It has been open less than a year. We were there on a Friday for lunch. Steady, local lunch crowd. Good lunch specials, service was fast, friendly and attentive servers and staff. Very good $5 house marg, top shelf available. Nice addition to the area, we'll be back."
"Great place to golf. Challenges all skill levels and very well maintained course! Staff is very nice and considerate! Food is good, some are all right, could be better."
"Everything is terrific at the Paisley Pear! Great food, courteous and efficient staff, fun atmosphere. If you find yourself in Hays, KS, a visit to the Paisley Pear is a must! Smoked Red Pepper Gouda soup, OMG!!"
"We love El Ranchito! Their food is always good and the service is always fast! I have been coming here for years and have never had a bad experience yet."
"We were in town for a bike rally and found out that the owner of the restaurant was one of the corporate sponsors. I quickly popped in on Saturday morning to give it a try. I needed to take everything to go due to time constraints. The coffee was very good and the bagel and danish were still good the next day when I had a chance to reheat them. Nice place and I would like to go again when I have time to relax and enjoy the food at the table."
"Great experience at Rolling Hills with a large group on a Monday evening. Service was fantastic - our server kept drinks filled and always had a smile. The ambiance is rustic yet pleasant and comfortable. Music playing was solid 80's on the night we joined. The menu selection is huge to easily suit all in the party. And food was great! From apps to entrees, all were happy. Pickle chips, jalapeño poppers, fried okra, quesadillas - all tasty! Our party had a wide variety of entrees and we heard many compliments! If you're looking for a place near Emporia, yet something different, give Rolling Hills a try!"
