"A friend recommended we take a rescue dog (Westie/Yorkie mix) to Crystal to get de-funkified. We had given him a bath but it didn't do much for the odor that he'd gained living in a hoarding situation with dozens of other dogs (read: reeked of dog pee and hadn't seen a bath, brush or trim in who knows how long.) The friend said Crystal does a great job with his temperamental pooch, so we gave her a try.Crystal took this pup from mangy-looking and awful-smelling to adorable and funk-free. She said she shampooed him three times to get his hair clean. She'd given him a great trim and he came out wearing a cute bandana. The price seemed very reasonable, too! In addition, Crystal let us know the pup's urine had an especially pungent odor. As, we hadn't had a pet in ages, we didn't know it wasn't normal, but a trip to the vet revealed a UTI and crystals in the urine, so Crystal helped us out with getting faster treatment for this previously poor, mistreated creature. Overall, great experience and we'll go back!"

"I took my little guy here for spring break recently. When I dropped him off , I told the girl up front he was to have doggy day camp on Tuesday and Thursday. All went well while we were gone. We got back the following week to pick him and they charged me $13 for doggy day camp on Monday. The same day I dropped him off and clarified that I only wanted day camp on Tuesday and Thursday. The girl in front said she swears they didnt do it on purpose yet we still paid for it even though we didnt request it that day.We were tired having just got off the plane and didnt have the energy to argue about it. We just wanted to see our dog. All in all, I WOULD bring my dog back here but only if there werent any other kennels available nearby. Being that we got charged for something we didnt request, it loses 2 stars. Just make sure you clarify, and then clarify again at the front desk because you dont want to get charged for something you didnt ask for."

"The set up is pretty nice. Like many other doggie day cares, the area is divided into different sections so that dogs are placed together depending on size. My dog was there about 2-3 days a week for a few weeks. I thought he'd get used to it, but he was scared every time I dropped him off. As for $$, it's pretty reasonable. It's $10 for half day (less than 5 hours) and $17 for full days (the place closes at 6pm I believe). What I really liked about this place was how you're able to see everything. It's nice seeing the dogs interact, inside and outside. My only concern was the cleanliness (or rather lack of). My dog peed in the playpen when he was first brought in and a lady wiped it off from the outside with a wet mop and put the mop back against the playpen. Another dog peed right on the same spot, and she did the same. The mop looked dirty and it made me wonder if she used the same urine-soaked mop to clean the play area throughout the entire day."

"Barb's Groomers in Wichita has given me the WORST experience in dog grooming I have ever had. My dogs ears were are bleeding all over. Completely enflamed and swollen. After a full day since they groomed him his ears were still bleeding! He was crying in pain for days. He kept hiding and not letting anyone near him. I have been a dog owner for over 20 years. This place this is terrible! I do not recommend it and I will not be going back! After a $120 vet bill, and 3 months his bushy tail hasn't begun to grow back, and parts of his ears are completely bald. DO NOT GO HERE."

"Worst place ever I wouldn't recommend this place if you care for your animals I should have known just by how my dog was acting and didn't want to stay Took her there for bath nails and teeth You could tell they never washed her face so i dought the brushed her teeth and she was soaking wet when they came out with her I asked why she was wet they said drying her was extra I guess when they get out of a bath they don't dry their selfs off either So when i get her home my poor little girl smells like wet dog had to take her to my regular groomer and pay for her to be bathed correctly Very disappointed in overall service Not to mention it took them about 15 minutes for the hole process Never again Concerned Dog Owner PS had to leave a star to post review they don't deserve a star at all"

"First Impressions-The staff were really nice today when I dropped my doggie off for her full groom. I was able to schedule both of my fur babies when I needed to. It does take about 4 hours to get each dog fully groomed, but I got the best surprise when I got a cute photo taken of my sweet doggie on "the hairy sofa" today! It had her posed so cute with her hair all done up with orange feathery hair bands! The photo was there when my husband picked her up. Her harness had a festive clip on it too!!! She got a report card on her behavior, any vet concerns, and her fantastic personality! They payed attention to her diet restrictions and assured me that she was fine if she had any issues with her arthritis, bath time, or anything else. Her cut and style are very good without any hot spots or cuts or anything. Ashton was GREAT with my sweetie pie! The only question I have is why I was quoted at $60, but I was charged $65. I'll ask them about it when I take my doggie in again. For now I'm a very happy dog Mom!"

"I'm really sorry that I have to downgrade my review so much but I have to say I'm pretty disappointed. I knew from the past that they like to keep the poodles ears long so I said quite a few times when I made the appointment that I wanted the ears cut to the leather because the hair always mats so easily. Then I said it several times when I dropped my dog off. When I came to pick him up his ears were still big a bushy. I pointed it out and they offered to cut them then so I stepped out so I wouldn't be a distraction. When I came back in they had trimmed the ears but they were still long. Not only all that but he had been nicked a couple times, he has a little scab underneath his front arm. I maybe over protective but I had a friend last year who just shaved him with a men's razor and didn't nick him.It's still the same lady that meets and greets customers and she still has a lot of enthusiasm, but I dont know if she has new groomers or what, but it's just not the same. It's still cheap but I think I might be looking for a new groomer who has the excitement for my dog and the willingness to listen to what I want"

"I am from the Kansas City area but my family lives not too far from Hutch. We have been to the emergency vet in Wichita and it was WAY expensive and they were extremely rude and I personally felt like we were judged for the things we didn't want done to my dog. They made us sign out AMA "against medical advice" and made us feel terrible for not doing everything they recommended. So this past weekend my pug got bit by a golden doodle. The wounds were pretty severe so we made the decision to be safe and take her to an emergency vet. I googled other vets in the area to see if we had any other option besides the Wichita emergency vet. I am so thankful we stumbled upon VCA. They were so great, got us in within an hour and were extremely gentle with my girl. Even with COVID, they were able to stitch her up and put in a drain. The doctor called and advised of the situation and what they recommend and they called every 15 minutes to update us. The tech explained everything for post-care and was so kind and gentle. I definitely recommend this place for anyone who is in need of pet care on a weekend or in any emergency. Another plus is that it didn't cost an arm and a leg like most emergency vets! Avoid Wichita and go to VCA!"

"I am writing this review primarily for the doggie daycare portion of the animal hospital. I take my little Staffordshire Terrier Layla there weekly. She goes and always has a blast. It is great since the play n stay staff have activities for the dogs and take great care of the animals while they are there. If it wasn't for the play and stay I don't know how else I would have managed to get Layla socialized.I have had limited contact with the Veternarian staff, however they have been courteous and helpful with their advise. On the one instance that she had an allergic reaction to a bug bite, the vet erred on the side of caution and made the right call. A week later the bug bit disappeared."
