"I have been here, or to whatever restaurant has occupied this spot, many times the past 25 years. Recently visited in 12/2023.Never ever had a bad taco here. Never had a bad meal/experience here. Everyone is so nice. Fun place. it's loud, but this is Aggieville... Gets crazy busy on a Thurs, Fri, Sat evening. Highly recommended if you're in Manhappiness..."
"I was in town doing some training and needed a place for lunch. This is probably the best little surprise I didn't know I needed. The burgers were so juicy, and the soup warmed my soul. It felt like a mom-and-pop place where everyone was super friendly, And Glad you came. They even had free dessert when I showed up. The menu is huge! I'll add this to a must-stop place whenever I visit this town!"

"Took our out of town friends here to while they were visiting. One of them was craving street tacos and after asking around this was the recommendation. Our friend liked his tacos. He said the meat wasn't dried out like it can be at other places. The salsa sampler was fun. Some were hot and some were HOT. I had the carnitas dinner. The meat was juicy and flavorful. I loved the elote side. So good. Our waitress was really sweet. I'm sure we will return."
"We have eaten there twice in the last 2 months after traveling to Topeka. Both times it was great food service and ambiance. Very fun atmosphere. Seafood soup and carne asada and chile rellenos were great!"
"Can you believe the size of this place? I'd swear my bathroom is bigger than this building, which was once a film drop off kiosk. But I digress.Tiny but mighty, this little taco shop offers delicious Mexican food at outstanding prices! I wanted to go on Taco Tuesday but the line was incredible! I picked a quiet Thursday to zip through. I love how you order to the right, turn and pick up to the left. Each order is handcrafted to delicious perfection. Each taco is mouth-watering, making you want more. They have more!I ordered the #2. I'm not telling you what it is, because you need to go get your own! Don't forget to order a big horchata ( rice water) to go with it!"
"This place was awesome! Not exactly the height of decor, but the food is delicious. The service was outstanding. The prices are fantastic. The pork carnitas were fall off your fork tender. The chicken chimichanga was huge with red and green sauce and guacamole and onions cooked inside. The lime coconut and blue margaritas were killer and half price on Wednesday. Our waitress was terrific. I would eat here every week if I lived here."
"2 Legit...2 Legit 2 Quit! (hey hey)This is THE authentic joint in town. No other will do, no one compares...Here it is - Mexican sodas, aguasfrescas, and then..lengua, cabeza, tinga, deshebrada stuffed into tacos, gorditas, and many other ways - a salsa bar boasts mild and spicy red, tomatillo and avocado-tomatillo, cucumbers and radishes. I have come twice and cannot get past the lengua though I should try other meats. This time I got a lengua taco with onions and cilantro, and a lengua gordita. Everything was delicious, hot and fresh! The salsas were all delicious. I especially liked the one with avocado, but who wouldn't? The cashier admitted the horchata was not fresh (it was on Sunday) so she refunded us. This place is connected to a small market that sells Mexican products and even pinatas. After eating here, there is no need to go to any other place (e.g., El Tapatio, La Fiesta, Los Texanos)."
"Good food. Love the look of the new place. We have been here a few times. We went initially in December and the place is very very cold inside. Take a coat. This last time, it was 104 outside but it was pleasant inside.. the tacos are amazing as is the chips and salsa. Staff are attentive. Would recommend."
"My favorite for several years. Excellent food and friendly staff. They have an elevated table area for small lunch meetings that we use occasionally. Parking on the street or in their enclosed parking area. Fajitas are awesome."
"I came here for dinner on Monday 6/3/2019. Food was delicious and service was great!! I ordered the #6 taco/enchilada combination, my hubby ordered shrimp cocktail and for dessert we had fried ice cream! The interior is pretty neat too with decorations and wall art! I definitely recommend to others and will be back!"
"Best chips and salsa in town.Staff was super friendly. Fun atmosphere. Great place.Gotta check out their quesadillas... they are FIRE."
"This review is mixed. The restaurant almost is very good, but has some serious flaws. (8/17/24)It's very easy to see the restaurant if you are heading north. Driving south, it's almost impossible to see. The restaurant has lots of doors, most of which are not used. Red arrows point you around to the north west side. When we entered, no one greeted us, and it wasn't clear if we were supposed to seat ourselves. A waiter then came up to seat us and brought us chips and salsa.I loved their salsa! It was very fresh and I could've just drunk a bowl of the salsa. The decor and ambiance were of a nicer Mexican restaurant that serves mostly gringos. It had the brightly colored, painted wood chairs, and Mexican images on the walls. Unlike most Mexican restaurants that I enjoy in Wichita, music was not blasting. That was pleasant! Our order included a grilled chicken platter as well as an order of two pollo asado tacos. Corn tortillas were ordered, but flour tortillas were what was served. The chicken tacos had chicken in them. That was all. No onions, peppers, lettuce, nothing. Fortunately, I had the delicious salsa on hand. The waitress never asked if everything looked correct, so I didn't have a chance to say, "I ordered corn tortillas?" The two tortillas with chicken inside were about $8.50. The grilled chicken platter was large. It included a substantial amount of refried beans, rice, three pieces of chicken, flour tortillas., lettuce, avocado slices, some onion, and a jalapeño pepper. A drink with no ice was ordered with this meal, and a drink with ice was presented. This meal was about $15 and included a lot of food. The waitress took an empty soda glass and refilled it. That was fine, except when the bill came, we were charged, seven dollars for the soda. Apparently they charge $3.50 per glass, whether you ask for a refill or not.The food was very good, although it was a surprise to get nothing in the taco except some chicken. The mistakes with the order and the ridiculous soda charges made us think we probably won't return. There are other Mexican restaurants that also have good food."

Interesting place. The Mexican lucha libre vibe gets a bit lost with the pop culture college campus influence and the bass heavy music playing fromThe overhead speakers but the food was decent and they had some novel flavors. I'm definitely rounding up a star. Didn't think it was crazy good but if I was a local I might come back.

Food: 5/5 Great Mexican food. They have a few dishes from across Mexico and the flavors are high. I love the variety of salsas and their Mexican street corn is so good. You will no be disappointed by anything you order. The best part is the portions are generous. Service: 3/5 The ladies are nice but they did seem vaguely bored and that felt weird. The wait for our to go food was also a bit awkward. Ambiance: 3/5 The art in the walls and the cute Mexican touches throughout are overshadowed by a lack of polish in places. Example, a wrinkled hand written paper sign vs a printed and laminated one. Such a small thing but it adds a layer of professionalism and class that would have taken the vibe to new heights.

The best Mexican restaurant in Emporia. Skip all the others and come here. Great atmosphere, service and food. I highly recommend a Michelada and the tamales.

The nicest people work at this tiny lil drive-up taco shop. So tiny it's practically a kiosk! Tacos are the small, authentic street style with double corn tortillas, $1.60 each. Flavors were pretty good. But they had one glaring but fixable issue...They were just too wet. Lengua had the best flavor of the bunch, authentically cooked and with nice texture. In fact it was superior to their carne asada. Pork was also pretty good, a simple al pastor with a little heat. As for the issues, first is wrapping each taco individually in aluminum foil makes for extra steamy meats and soggy tortillas. I recommend not doing it. They are also a little heavy-handed with the salsas, adding to the wetness. I would prefer to control the salsa amount myself, but to do so costs an extra 25 cents for salsa on the side. Tacos also light on veggies. A little more onion and cilantro would add improve both texture and flavor. Both available salsas are well made, but the red "spicy" salsa is better than their "mild" salsa verde. I also tried their horchata, too super sweet, tasted like thin egg nog, it was just okay. They also have burritos, quesadillas and flour tortilla version tacos available, all of which I have yet to try.So in conclusion, the people here are great, while the food is pretty good food. Tacos may be a solid 3 stars, but their smiling faces made it easier to round up overall to a 4.

Our party of 7 included 5 who had never tried this restaurant so when they asked us what is good on the menu, we replied, "everything!" And once again, none were disappointed. Wonderful service, efficient and accurate. The guacamole is my favorite, the bean dip and salsa are yummy. And themargaritas were addictive. I had the quesadilla this time because I wanted to go simple - no complaints, but my friend who let me taste the Chile Verde, one word: WOW! So good.

This little family-run charmer is right off I-70, serving simple, authentic Mexican dishes. The kiddos that served us were kind and courteous, the food came out quick, and they even made me a great cup of coffee. Perfect stop if you're crossing Kansas and want something more wholesome and real than fast food.

When you are seated and immediately get served a plate of homemade chips and salsa, you know you're in for a treat.Café Mona has an informal atmosphere. No fuss, but clean. They serve delicious Mexican food. We got the El Gordito (meats plus jalapeño and pineapple), which was such a nuanced explosion of flavors! We also got the chilaquiles, which is pretty much fried chips smothered in red mole sauce with steak tips, guacamole, cilantro, onion, and an egg. It was so good. Will be back to try the rest of the menu! Our server, Jasmin, was super friendly and attentive. Special shout-out to her!

"Eric R. loves this place so we come a lot. It is a very popular spot in town too, especially when there are $1 margarita nights. We share the molcajete El Tapatio, which has skirt steak, chicken, shrimp, nopales, queso, grilled jalapeno, and grilled onions in a spicy salsa with tortillas on the side. It also includes chorizo which we get on the side since I do not eat pork. Chips and salsa are plentiful and free, and you can request a spicier salsa too. It is A-OK - I go to make sure my husband is happy since he loves Mexican food."
"Ordered via Uber Eats because...long day. I had the Monterey tacos, rice, and an order of chili con queso. Let's start with the queso. Mmmmmmm...I usually do not like the yellow queso, but this is wonderful, with just the right amount of spice. The food came in individual containers, which kept it nice and warm. The pork was really quite delicious; tender and good seasoning. The rice was a tiny bit disappointing. It was a little mushy. The pico also came with limes, which totally offset the rice. If you are eating in, a great place to order from."
"Chefs have changed and the food is not quite as good. Prices on the menu have risen a lot. We still love their sopa de frijoles and the bistec platter, but we don't come here like we used to."
"So my new favorite Mexican dish is chori pollo (chicken with cheese and chorizo) so now I measure using that. Cafe Garcia has just added this dish and was great!! I didn't even need to touch the popular salsa bar they have. The staff was great and our chip bowl stayed full! This is a great place to eat and I highly recommend the chicken with chorizo!"
"Alejandro's portions are very large and food is full of flavor. I did have a hard time communicating with the person that took my order, but eventually everything was corrected and I received the correct items. I highly recommend the Carnita and Shrimp Tacos and burritos, if you get one of the burritos order it smothered (with sauce and cheese)."
"Wow. If you're going through Enid or live there, you must try!! I think I had the best taco salad of my life at this restaurant yesterday. The salsa was absolutely amazing, the guac tasted fresh and the chicken and peppers were seasoned so well. We were seated immediately and I rate the service 10 out of 10. I really enjoyed this food and the ambiance of this restaurant. I really hope I get to come back soon."
"As an out of towner and first time visitor to Wichita, a work meeting brought me to Connie's Mexican Cafe. Whenever you visit a new place it can be hard to get an authentic sense of community, so I'm thankful that I was introduced to Connie's. The place has tradition, deep family roots over 63 years that continue to this day, and good food and service. When here, you feel like you are in an authentic local place, not a soulless chain restaurant out by the mall. I had a very good cheese enchilada plate with refried beans and rice. The mild salsa with chips was good and the spicy salsa was great. Service was friendly and efficient, even during the weekday lunch rush. I met two of the restaurant family members while there, including Carmen, Connie's daughter. She was warm and friendly and also has a wall in the restaurant dedicated to all of the marathons that she, now in her 70s has run!"
"We love the cochinita pibil served here -- extremely flavorful, perfectly seasoned, and absolutely authentic. If you've stumbled into Octavio's seeking Tex-Mex, well, you need to try again, cookie. This is the real thing -- not some Americanized bullshit pandering to the Chads and Karens of the world.Love this joint -- too bad it's all the way up in Garfield County!"
"This place is totally legit! Small interior with a few tables and chairs but the staff have big hearts and kind words to greet you. You step up to the counter order what you want. Then you're given a number and you can wait for it. They also do delivery through EatStreet app. Which I have personally done and has worked out perfectly. Totally authentic burrito! I've had it three times with Carne Asada and it's been absolutely fabulous. I also have some family members that have food allergies and/or are vegan. The staff were very willing to customize orders for me. Love this place and I will definitely return every time I visit!"
"What a fantastic experience! Stayed in Hays overnight. This place has great reviews online and so thought we would try it. Not disappointed in any way. Nowadays prices are sky high for small servings. Not this place.....great prices, filling portions....and to top it off- really nice employees! Owen took my order when I called ahead. He was super friendly and accommodated the special orders due to allergies. This place has a drive up window which is so convenient....especially because the parking lot is full so you know it is very busy inside...and for pickup you don't have to navigate the crown inside! Olivia was at the drive-up window. She was very friendly, efficient, and professional! Got to the hotel and enjoyed a fantastic dinner that was YUMMY! We got steak fajitas and spinach enchiladas with sauteed mushrooms and onions! Nachos and Horchata. Soooo yummy and everything made exactly as ordered!"
"Being born half Mexican and half German produced a few more issues than I was perhaps created to handle. Growing up I (almost) always went to Mexico for Xmas vacation, whether I wanted to go or not. The benefits were exposure to the culture and the foods. I may look like your everyday above average ruggedly handsome Midwesterner, but I know "real" Mexican food from yards away. With that said this place is the real deal. If I close my eyes I could easily imagine I'm eating lunch in Monterrey, except for the American extras, cheese, chips, wacky Spanish TV and etc. Anyone into Mexican food I would suggest this place first to form a baseline for everything else.Cheap super tasty Mexican food ? What's better than that? Venture out here for lunch once and you'll be hooked."
"Tortilla Jack's new location might not have the ambiance and classic feel of their old location, but I found the food to be exactly the same. I think the interior is smaller than their old location, but they do now have a drive through. On my most recent visit, I got a couple of the hard shell tacos with hot sauce and a side of chips and white cheese. It hit the spot. Definitely worth a visit!"
"Panchos can be easy to miss while driving down 6th street, but honestly some of the best Mexican food you can find in Junction City, and they have some of the best carnitas I've ever had! Think of the best street/food truck you've eaten at, then imagine it in a hard stand building...that's Panchos! Don't come here looking for a fancy restaurant, come for the amazing food!"
"Great place for authentic Mexican food, really enjoy the pollo quesadilla, pollo a la Parilla, and the flour chips with Queso! I enjoy this location over the one in JC- JC location has beeen slow with ok service. Here they do their best to serve you hot Mexican food quickly! I love their margarita deals and the happy hour ddeals/ days can't be missed either!"
"First time eating here. We ordered two meals and queso. Food was great. Everything tasted really good."
"Family environment! Delicious Food :) I love coming here on dates with my hub. The family is so Nice & it's a really nice down to earth place to eat. Gives you a at home feeling. Yet with a new experience of how they create a hamburger like no other. I've never been to Chicago other than just the airport lol but Wow it's good food. You must try this place! :)"
"I like this restaurant, everyone is nice and the street tacos are my favorite! I also get a virgin michealada with sparkling water instead of beer and it's delicious!"
"FUXS GIVEN = 4.7*******************Food = 5Excellent!!! I travel a lot and it's comforting to know that I can almost always find a taqueria of some type across America. Viva la Raza. UX = 4As far as trucks go this was nice. Clean trailer with and attached covered patio. It was raining so. It sure how it really is. Service = 5La Senora was warm and friendly. She whipped up my 3 tacos quickly and perfectly."
"Rubens remains one of our favorite Mexican restaurants for lunch. Over the years the food has been consistently good as well as the service. We've enjoyed a variety of the dishes on the menu ."
"I took my boys here from dinner and we had a very pleasant night. The food was good, the service was friendly, and the atmosphere was very good. This place is meant to serve a lot of people quickly, so it gets loud. Not the best place to come for a quiet night with the family. However, that's not a bad thing. The parking lot gets FULL quickly, but there's plenty of overflow parking located across the street in the Dillon's parking lot. We'll be back!"
"Been here multiple times. Great staff, pretty good food and they don't skimp on portions."
"Very neat little place. Service at the counter was great.Tried a few different things. 1) GB enchilada was good but had an odd cinnamon taste-didn't care for that. 2) GB hard taco was really good with tons of flavor. 3) GB burrito was large and very good. 4) chicken tamale was sold-little bland. 5) beef street taco was very good and likely my favorite. Chips and salsa and queso were also good."
"Been coming here since 2008 and got a chance to get back again after years .... It's changed a little bit but the food is still the same ..Good hearty food that fills the stomach and melts your heart .It may look like any other place but the food still has a lot to offer ....It still hasn't lost it flavors...The burrito just has picco chicken cheese and potatoes ..And it's called Colorado burrito .It soo good I wonder why it's popularity hasn't reached the peak . ..And they come with either grilled chicken or shredded (spicy) .The saucesthey gave are on the fire sides so be careful to try a little bit first . I would say if u are ever in whichta it a must visit after u visit the keeper of plains ...Some places can never disappoint you and for me it's one of them .For the six days u was in Wichita I had Colorado burrito for 3 daysn I still loove it .."
