"It's funny that I came here to say these are the best donuts in the world and find the only other review makes the same claim. But it's true, as far as I can tell. I grew up in Wellington eating Daylight Donuts all throughout my time there. Any time I tried donuts somewhere else, I was disappointed. Then I moved to Lawrence then to San Francisco then traveled around the world, including New York. I continued to try donuts everywhere I went. Krispy Kreme, Bob's Donut & Pastry Shop, Doughnut Plant. I tried all the highest rated donut shops everywhere I went. Any time I visited a new city, I made a point of finding their highest rated donut shop. And not once did any donut I ate remotely compare to the memories I had of the ones I ate right in my home town of Wellington, Kansas at Daylight Donuts as a kid.Last week, I came back to Daylight Donuts again for the first time in 20 years. I wanted to put it to the test: was this just nostalgia or were these donuts actually as good as I always thought they were? I got a pac-man, a chocolate long john, a glazed, and a half pint of their signature chocolate milk. And, I am pleased to report, they were every bit as amazing as I remembered."
"Ordered to-go from this restaurant, the donuts were simply amazing. I don't know about service/ambiance since I just came home after ordering. These were the best donuts I've eaten; it's even better than Varsity Donuts and Dunkin. Thx for reading and have a great day!"
"I've loved the donuts here ever since they opened; there's so many to choose from. The service is carried out very professionally. My favorite flavors are Cake Battered, Strawberry Frosted, and Glazed Blueberry. So Delicious!"
"A definite step back in time! I grew up in a small town with a Daylight Donuts store. Such great donuts! This is just like that. A good selection of well-made donuts and creations of all shapes and sizes. The prices are really reasonable too! I brought two boxes of donuts back for my office and everyone loved it!"
"This place will surprise you. We order a plain biscuit, vanilla donut, a sausage egg and cheese biscuit, two lattes and a chocolate milk and it was delicious. The staff was very friendly and helpful."
"I just moved from California to Kansas and needed to try the infamous Dunkin'! However, I was a bit underwhelmed. I ordered the cold brew coffee with sweet cream foam and it tasted very watery, almost no coffee flavor at all! I'm not sure what happened there. The donuts were good, especially the butternut one WOW. However, the maple and chocolate frosted ones were just ok. Nothing to rave about. I will definitely give it another try, especially to re-try the coffee. As for now, this Dunkin' is average and McDonald's coffee is better than what they served me here."
"I hadn't been to Druber's for a while. I think maybe it had been 5 years. I'm super glad they're offering breakfast now. It's delicious and filling. The donuts are as classic as ever. It was a trip down memory lane for sure. I hope people continue supporting this shop."
"My new favorite donut place in Wichita! I guess there's a west location that has been around but I do not go west often. I'm glad they put an east location on my way to work. They have a huge variety of different donuts. They taste amazing and so pretty! They are made so well so the icing doesn't stick to the bag. The sandwiches and pigs in a blanket are really good too. I also really like the iced vanilla coffee and Thai tea with boba. Service is great as well. This will be the reason I put on 10 lbs ."
"One of the best donuts in manhattan and they are so cheap! Usually under $1! The staff is super friendly and you can tell they are very passionate about their business! My favorite is the blueberry donut, it melts in your mouth! The hours do vary so check on that but usually there is low wait times and it's worth it!"
"Great place. Food - Donuts are fresh daily. Not a wide selection but wide enough for most people. They also have a small selection of lunch type food. Atmosphere - Very clean and inviting. Nothing fancy about the place but it's comfortable. Service - I have always received fast, friendly service. Prices are typical of most donut places. Only complaint is that they need a larger to-go coffee cup."
"Absolute best breakfast sandwich I've ever had. The one with the Texas toast- just divine. Kids had pancakes and loved them too. Favorite meal we had in Elkhart while visiting family."
"The donuts here are amazing! My kids want to get them every weekend, and they are so patient with us taking forever to choose which kinds of donuts they want. Every kind we have tried has been great, especially cinnamon twists. I want to try the ramen soon. I'm so happy to have this shop in my neighborhood."

Great donuts, hometown service, and a long history displayed in artifacts and art on the walls. Not just good for a small town donut shop, but well-made donuts with great flavor, fun designs, and good quality.

After reading other reviews I felt compelled to share our experiences. Places run out of items and people make mistakes-but they also try their best. We have been through the line and told they were out of something-no big deal, decide on something else. Covid has caused delays everywhere! Order ahead if you know you want something or don't be upset when you arrive and they don't have it. The staff has been friendly most days and once again, people have bad days-we are all human. Instead of leaving bad reviews, maybe we should think about the good or the possibility of them having an off day. If you in fact are perfect, leave your review and if not have consideration for others. The Hastings store is doing a great job!

I don't know about the coffee Mafia but the owner was kind and friendly. Offered a small discount when I didn't have enough change in the car (it's cash only). This is a local donut shop run by a couple. Nothing fancy - but these donuts are fantastic. I'm a donut lover and I was happy. So was my entire family when I brought home the donut party.

Found out that they were opening this location & since it's by my house we stopped by. This is run by the same owners & the food options are also the same. You're greeted when you walk in & the staff helps you with your order & any questions you have. This is the former Chicken Pop so there are a few tables if you want to eat in. We picked up some bagels with cream cheese, cronuts & regular donuts. I didn't get pictures this time but if you have been to the other location you know what they have. Service was quick & the food was delicious. Today is the soft opening so drop by for a free donut. Enjoy!

"Bought a second house in Coldwater and heard lots of great things about Don's in Protection. It was certainly busy and I know why! It was delicious! They have a menu of American diner items and some Mexican food. I opted for the taco salad and I'm so happy I did. Perfect portion and very tasty! I will definitely return and probably come earlier to avoid the crowds."
"Went here for the first time. They have a large selection inside the store. The menu doesn't have everything on it. They were really friendly and very fast!! The fritters are amazing! Also super cheap"
"What a cool donut shop! But it's more than just donuts. They make a hybrid donut breakfast sandwiches that are the bomb diggity. The customer service is awesome as well. The young lady stated they also do lunch sandwiches. I was skeptical about the breakfast sandwiches at first but after eating one it destroys the fast food chains. Give it a try!"
"I was visiting family in a nearby town and wanted to surprise them with donuts! Fellow Yelpers didn't disappoint with this recommendation! I called ahead to order two dozen of whatever they wanted to throw in the box and picked them up 15 minutes later! Each donut was delicious and my family was pleasantly surprised, and HAPPY to have fresh donuts! Will definitely visit again!"
"Pick your wich, it doesn't matter which one you choose! It was a pleasant surprise we found when pulling into the gas station for a pit stop on the road trip. We've never heard of this place let alone expected the way they do things! It was fun to create your order on the bag and customize it to your liking! Staff is young and fun, music is chill and good, food is fresh and delicious! The place was clean and prices are reasonable. If I ever find another one of these places I will certainly stop!"
"The food and drinks I ordered came out good. The lady working the register didn't have super huge smile on her face but maybe she was having a bad day possibly. This location is pretty new and offers a lot of charging locations which is nice for students or people traveling."
"I was on a cross country drive and this place was on the way for some much needed breakfast and coffee. I was so happy they were open because it was Thanksgiving morning. The entire staff was very welcoming and friendly and I felt overall very comfortable inside. I ordered the dulce de leche latte and ham croissant. Both were amazing and exceeded my expectations! Highly recommend and am glad I had somewhere friendly to stop on my trip."
"Paradise is a gem! They have gorgeous pinecones and apple fritters, along with a lovely assortment of donuts and savory breakfast sausages. They only serve a dark roast coffee (light roast please!) but I was very pleased with the selection of donuts, the quality of the ingredients, and the great interior. Plush booths, a few armchairs, free WiFi, and they're open past lunch. I'll definitely be back!"
"Many donut places are simply matters of proximity - you just go to whichever one is closest to you, and chances are it'll turn out pretty good. It's hard to screw up a donut.Prairie Donuts takes the place of a former Squeek's; I knew because the coffee maker was still labeled as such. I think the donuts might be a little more expensive than the average, but they're broken into two prices tiers - regular and fancy. The former is a small collection of various frosted yeast donuts, and the ones on which I nibbled (mostly just a few donut holes that were thrown in to the box when I built my dozen) were good enough. The fancy varieties are considerably larger items like apple fritters and pine cones - large donuts shaped, unsurprisingly, like a pine cone. I don't know if this is a prevalent item in Wichita's donut shops, but it's the first time I saw one, and others who noticed someone eating one were quick to show their surprise, too.The donuts are kind of just piled into a box, not doing much for the presentation, but the lady manning the empty store's register was quite nice, and it's clear that she probably wasn't in any danger of running out of business any time soon."
"Best little coffee shop around. Great vibes and had old school He-man and TNMNT cartoons on TVs. Using Pablo's coffee as their roasters, they are the best roasters in Denver being brought to the area. Many breakfast options from biscuits and gravy, donuts, sandwiches and homemade cinnamon rolls!!"
"Was picking up some breakfast/treats for my family. The donut rack was full as I squeezed in before they technically opened... there was a lot of variety to choose from! The decorated donuts were awesome. I can't wait to get into the sausage rolls!!!! The staff working there is very nice and the clean interior had me confident I made a great choice of donut shops. There are many in the area. However this one has the best customer service. They are friendly and the donuts are fresh. I was super pleased and will return when it's donut time again.. thank you for being awesome!Respectfully,Bryan Yukon, Oklahoma"
"You want those doughnuts! Don't you fatty ... yeah yeah you do go get a dozen pretending your going to share with people at work. The ear two on the way to work and the other 10 through out the because no one at your job eats them. But your going to bring them again next week aren't you? .... Yeah yeah you are."
"Went through the drive through and wasn't sure what we wanted. The person taking our order was extremely patient with us and answered all the questions we had and explained what certain drinks consisted of and compared them to other drinks we may be more familiar with. She even read back our order to make sure she didn't miss anything. So our experience in the drive through was pleasant. However after getting our drinks and food and pulling off sadly we saw that consistency isn't the same. We ordered two avocado toast with bacon and one without the everything bagel seasoning. The amount of bacon (which we paid extra for) was not the same. The drinks were delicious and we were happy that the lady recommend them. Overall a good experience. This is not a store issue but we would appreciate if you could add your loyalty points with your receipt should you forget to scan at the store."
"I was in Manhattan visiting my best friend and she was been wanting to try this place. There is a LOT of construction in this area which made driving to and parking kind of a pain, but I know it isn't their fault so I'm not taking any stars off for that. This place is really cute inside and they kept a lot of the original features of what was once Palace Drug Store (including the hand-laid tile floor which is around 90 years old!). I love when newer businesses are able to keep original features. Now, on to Varsity Donuts itself: We walked in and it was completely empty as it was about 10:30 on a Friday and campus was pretty empty. The girl are the counter greeted us and was very nice. We immediately went to their merch wall as you first walk in which has lots of cute doughnut-branded shirts, stickers, cups, and buttons. We then walked over to the doughnuts and many of them looked good - flavor wise. I got the chocolate bar, the red velvet doughnut, and milk. My bestie got the Maple bacon bar and the K-Stater with milk. I think everything all together was under $14. We sat inside which was great. The regular doughnuts are $1ish and the bars are $2ish and the bars are massive! Texture and flavor wise, I was very happy with the yeast and the cake doughnut. Not greasy, dense, or dry and all of the flavors paired well together without being overwhelming. Sometimes with cream cheese frosting, people can lean towards the "too bitter" realm which I know some people enjoy to offset the sweet factor, but I feel like with the Red Velvet doughnut - they did well going mildly sweet for both the doughnut and the frosting. My bestie loved hers are well. I did try a bit of the maple frosting and it was really nice and didn't have that kind of fake flavor that some give off. Overall, would definitely recommend and come back."
"Great little donut spot. Daughter and I each grabbed a donut for the road. Donuts were super fresh and delicious. Would definitely get a donut here again."
"This was my first visit to Paradise Donuts, but it won't be my last. I have been wanting to try this place for many months, but rarely have an opportunity. This is a locally owned bakery, pastry shop, not a chain. I was in the area this morning, hungry and remembered Paradise Donuts was close by. Lots of people coming and going when I arrived. I was greeted as soon as I entered. Huge Apple Fritters waiting for my purchase. I dined inside with apple fritters and a large cup of coffee. Perfect. The apple fritter has actual apple slices inside, not just small pieces for flavor. It is actually large enough for 2 people to share, or save a portion for a later snack. They also offer both cake and raised donuts, long john rolls, cinnamon twists and cinnamon rolls. The dining room is large with lots of tables. There are 3 tall tables with chairs along the bright south facing windows."
"Love the food, but busy, and wait times fromWalking into the door to getting food can be 20mim. home made and very good. Not bad smoothies also. They have a large variety of coffee and tea"
"Yummy! The people are so nice. They threw in a free doughnut for my friend to try. I highly recommend the place"
"This has been our family's favorite donut shop for years. The staff is friendly and the donuts are always great."
"Awesome food and people. Love supporting this local business. Always happens to have fun new donuts and recipes."
"I love to stop here when I come to McCook. The lunch and desserts are delicious, the atmosphere is cozy and warm and the staff is friendly. I do wish they were able to bring back their baked gluten free treats but understand the stress of cross contamination."
"This is a great lil small hometown bakery great backed goods and they sell biscuits and gravy and sandwiches and more. The prices are very fair for what you get and the people are great there."
"What could I say about these delicious donuts? They are just wonderful, delectable, melt in your mouth donuts that will make you go mmmmm."
