I didn't have high hopes for Mexican cuisine in Kansas but we were once again pleasantly surprised. The restaurant is clean. The food is great. And the employees are super hard working and amazingly friendly. We will definitely be eating more meals here!"

"This place is excellent! First of all I think this is the only true fine dining restaurant in hays except maybe rivaling trios. Their happy hour is a real happy hour where you drink top shelf drinks and then after are confused how your bill is so low. They know how to make GREAT drinks . It is local owned by young people and a real chef and they are incredible people with such charisma and passion for what they do. This is the only restaurant in hays with a truly trained chef and it shows. Their food is legitimately the best in town. "What a cute little place. It's right near the Harlan Reservoir in Alma. You can't go wrong for coffee, smoothies, and pastries. I was tempted by the chicken salad croissant but decided I had better finish my leftover dinner from last night. I had a lemon lavender scone. Deliciousness! I still had coffee from breakfast and almost gave into a smoothie, but I resisted. If you are going on a vacay to Harlan County Reservoir, this is a can't miss stop."

"Can I just say WOW?! I didn't want to rely on Walmart or Dillions for my wedding cake and I really didn't know much about bakers around here. I did some looking up and came across this. She listened to what I wanted, I sent her ideas and pretty much was one of those "idk what do you think" folks. Frustrating, yes, but I didn't know what I was doing. She sketched up a few ideas and I picked what I liked. It was affordable and DELICIOUS! EVERYONE loved it. I gave her my cake toppers and she worked with them, brought the cake and set it up for me. Being from the NJ/NY area myself this is the only place in the city that has authentic pizza like where I grew up.Ingredients are fresh, pizza has a great crispy underneath, and the flavor profile always hits! Pictured here is their margherita pie. Comes with fresh basil, dollops of fresh mozzarella, and their savory, slightly sweet marinara sauce. "One of my work buddies brought around an order form for his kiddie's school fundraiser. Not for Boy Scout popcorn. Not for Girl Scout Cookies. This one was for frozen loaves of braided pastries you bake at home. The vendor was Kansas Maid and they offer a pretty nice fundraiser for any group. Their flavors were very enticing. How about Cherry, Strawberry, Raspberry, Cinnamon, Italian, Cream Cheese, Cinnamon Roll, Apple Braid, and Caramel Sticky Bun? Awesome, eh? The dessert braids are packed with a cute little frosting dispenser for you to decorate the loaves to your specifications. To bake the loaves, you first have to let them thaw for about ten hours -they will rise and seem to triple in size. Then you pop them in your oven and you had better prepare yourself for the intoxicating aroma of baked sweetness that will start filling your house.I picked up an Apple Braid and a Cinnamon Roll Braid for $13 each and cooked up the apple one for Thanksgiving. It was stellar- a huge loaf that was as flaky and delicate as a croissant, with a lot of wonderful apple pie-like fillingFor $13 a pop they were worth every GD penny !!"

"Luciano's has been a longtime favorite among Wichita's limited selection of Italian restaurants; the drive to Mulvane, on the other hand, not so much. Strada by Luciano's - a small trailer outfitted with a couple of burners - is not easily found, especially on account of their willingness to venture into the city's southwest side and frequent stops in other cities in the region, like Winfield. They're committed to hitting the road from Monday through Friday for lunch; their whereabouts can be determined from their Facebook page.It was a smart decision to take the show on the road, and even smarter to offer an extremely limited menu to ensure the quality stays high. You can choose from two pasta dishes and a salad. Both pastas are repeats from the restaurant, though they're prepared differently and to varying results. The penne in meat sauce shares the exact same sugo di carne from the mothership, and the pasta finished à la minute gives you a rich sauce and an al dente pasta that is plenty worthy of the Luciano's name. The cheesy bowtie pasta, an imitation of the quattro formaggi, was less successfully composed due to the cream-to-cheese ratio on a recent visit being disappointingly skewed toward the former. The bowtie pasta was still cooked very well, so they are consistent in that regard.You would be burying the lede if you skipped over the salad. It ends up being the most unique aspect of the truck thanks to the ample cone of crisp Parmesan that surrounds the dressed greens. There are nits to be picked here, too, mostly because you end up with too much cheese for the small salad. Ordered alongside one of the pasta dishes, however, makes it easy to find a use for the excess remainder."

I'll preface this that if you do not like diner food, this may not be the place for you. If any of you all have been to a Boomerang Diner in some small towns across Oklahoma, this is fairly similar. You know exactly what you are going to get and should temper your expectations to the idea that you're not eating at Mahogany Steakhouse. It included some avocado, lettuce, mayo and tomato. I opted for the side salad with homemade cucumber lime dressing. The price listed on the menu was 7.50 and I was charged over $10 for this meal. If I would have eaten it at another place, that seems like a fair price, however I wasn't expecting that. Additionally I got my order to go and thy added the salad dressing instead of having it on the side, so by the time I got home, my croutons were soggy. I plan to return and try more of the menu. I saw fresh quiches when I ordered and went to try more. I recommend but will ask more questions next time."
