Mandy L. "We only stayed here for one night, but we had a great experience! We were in LL2, which was super close to the lake! The property is clean and the staff was very nice. They have back in spots with power and the septic dump is in the center of the property near the showers. The cost is reasonable at $35 a night. We would definitely stay here again! We took a paddle boat for a spin and my kiddo had an awesome time! That was an excellent addition to the experience."

Patrick C. "Kind of a long review, but for simplicity sake the top take aways:Cabin 10- 10/ 10 Awesome!Staff- 12/10 Leslie and her team were so accommodating and awesomeExperience 10/10What an absolute awesome hidden gem!!! My buddies and I booked cabin 10 for a guys weekend, and took off from KC on a Friday. We spent the afternoon playing a round of golf over at Rolling Meadows (highly recommend a nice little country golf course). Then popped back over to the resort for a dinner down at the restaurant. We lucked out, as they had a live band playing that were surprisingly amazing, and accompanied our dinner perfectly. The gang was split across burgers, chicken sandwiches and whatnot. Nobody complained and I don't recall any left overs remaining!Friday night saw us sitting by a big fire outside the cabin, and watching some of the planes flying around from Fort Riley for the evening. Saturday was a bit of an early morning, as we went over to Acorn's Wild for an awesome pheasant hunt! We had four dogs, an amazing guide in Paul, and were off for hiking the fields for a half day. It was simply the best hunt any of us have ever gone on, and literally all of us have been talking about how fast we can get back out there again. They followed it up with a heck of a lunch spread (seriously, I gotta find those homemade cinnamon rolls), then we sadly packed it up and went back to KC for family obligations. Already day dreaming about our next escapee over. All of this and it's only 2.5 hours away from KC!"

Lori R. "The pros- It's clean, free for up to 5 days, safe, has showers, toilets, water, and power. They have a delightful area to sit and eat your lunch. The cons- the trees need maintenance, they need to do a better job of cleaning the bathrooms. The bathrooms don't have locks in the outside door, so a buddy system is recommended so no one walks in on you. Both the toilets and showers have doors with locks, but I'd love to see a lock on the doors. The park also needs some basic mowing and upkeep. Some of the power outlets do not work. But the city is polite, safe, and I had no problems camping in my tent here for 4 days."

Rick D. "This place has seemingly many more amenities than others is the Wichita area. It offers toilets, showers, a pay laundry facility, a little beat up basketball hoop, frisbee golf things, a swing set, small pond ( maybe for fishing ? ), a sewage lagoon and spotty wi-fi. I'm told they offer cable tv too, but my camper does not have a television, so there's that. You may notice the occasional train horn and freeway noise, as it's right off I-35, but I just put on some headphones at bedtime and everything was just fine. The park has many different lots, some pull through and some not. But most that I have seen have power, water and sewer. As others have said, there is a restaurant ( Huddle House ) next to the Flying J / Pilot gas station on the other side of I-35. I'm headed there next. All in all, probably worth a stop for a night or two."

George Armstrong C. "I spent the better part of a week at Salt Creek Ranch. The owners could not be more gracious, friendly, accommodating, diligent or ...interesting. I used my stay as a work sabbatical - and the bunk house was more than comfortable - it was charming in a way appropriate for the Great Plains.I took an introductory lesson on "Centered Riding" from Carol. I have been around horses as much as most suburbanites...but what Carol taught me was remarkable. Quite frankly, I dont have the vocabulary to describe it. She taught me something that I will never forget and always use - not just with horses, but with people too.I highly recommend a stay at Salt Creek. For me it was a... substantial experience. I can not say enough good things about this place or these people."

Anne H. "This was by far one of the nicest stays we have in our travels! Don't let the short travel along a dirt road (which turns to pavement quickly) scare you off. Robert met us as we neared the entrance and guided us to a site. There are some shaded and partially shaded sites. Wi-fi is available and full hook-ups. Perfect for self-contained rigs. (there is no on-site bath house or restrooms) We were so impressed by the level of customer service Robert provided- even down to a great dinner recommendation (Woody's on Main st.).We had planned on staying 2 days so we could golf at his adjacent 9 hole course, which is immaculately maintained and just beautiful-Lots of trees and some water features. The course was perfect for me as a beginner golfer and yet challenged even my more advanced golfer husband.Robert offered to show us around what used to be his grandfathers homestead land which his brother and sister all have RV campgrounds on in the area. All 3 campgrounds are beautifully maintained and you would not go wrong with any of them. But Robert really added a touch of hospitality. We will definitely can't wait to come back."

Carly J. "The ladies in the Office were just delightful! They were courteous and so helpful. Mimi was also friendly and a sweet "greeter" as we arrived in the park.I would have given 5 stars..but I am picky about bathrooms...only two ....and they combined the toilet and shower in one area. So it was limiting. When I was showering, someone wanting only the toilet had a long wait. (Also...needed to change out shower curtain..old and ragged looking.)Nice laundry room and clean park. Best part during our wintertime stay was the long woodsy trail adjacent to the park...we saw so many deer!!"

Prairie Haven Nudist Park

MK F. "Our 3rd nudist resort stop was at Prairie Haven, in Scranton, KS (about an hour outside of Kansas City). It was remotely located down a gravel road, and had a beautiful welcoming front entrance. The whole grounds had lovely old trees which gave it a beautiful natural feel. We chose to stay in a small bathroom-less "cabin" rather than tent since it was going to just be a quick overnight stay (and forecasted to rain in the a.m.). As with the last two places, this was an AANR nudist resort, not clothing optional. It was perfect weather so we took a dip in the in-ground pool and met some lovely members. The hot tub was hopping & we listened to stories & shared ours. Only one couple had been to any FL resorts or any other nudist resorts. It is in a pretty remote area. They had a second above-ground "activity"pool reserved for lap swimming, aerobics, and pool volleyball. Both pools had newer deck areas around them & the sunning deck had new colorful chairs & umbrellas. The rest of the facilities were quite a bit older (probably original from the 70's) & starting to look & feel a little sad and in need of some structural & esthetic updates. Same with our "cabin" - it was a small structure divided into two bedrooms by a flimsy, thin wall. That's all we're gonna to say about that. The small, stuffy clubhouse has a fully stocked community kitchen. It doesn't look like it's used for anything more than that. But it was clean & functional & appreciated. There was also a large covered pavilion with an outdoor kitchen area. Their old sand volleyball court was turned into a pickleball court, which was next to a remote-controlled car dirt track. Seems to be a thing in the mid-west. Wish we could be there for one of those events. There is a huge, very flat open field which they said they use for fireworks displays, Molke, and golf cart races! We strolled up on their weekly game of Molke & were quickly invited to play. We love this about nudist places - everyone is always welcoming & inclusive. This club only allows a limited amount of male or female single visitors or members (10% of their membership) so keep that in mind. And after 3 visits, you have to become a member. It is a co-op where everyone is expected to pitch in to maintain the facilities & grounds to some degree. If you visit, look for the many adorable (mostly nude) gnomes sprinkled throughout the common areas. It was almost like a scavenger hunt to find them all. It lent itself to the rustic whimsy of the place!"

Owners live on site, are friendly and helpful.A Church and fire department are next door. The neighborhood is small town and quiet. Check in and out are easy. We'd go back for sure. We spent one night there in a pull through site with a 28 ft bumper trailer. The fee was 35$"

Cindy K. "It was tight getting in and difficult getting down the incline for a large class a towing a car. They appear to be trying to make it nicer with lights and a patio set, but the propane fire pit did not have propane. They are expecting a net for their pickleball court, which is nice. The dog park was small with many deposits that remained after other dogs left. There are many older small trailers in this small park which seem to be inhabited by permanent residents doing what they can to live year round in a chilly place. The staff were friendly and they have a nice little store. We will make another choice that better accommodates our needs."
