Natasha B. "We took my dad here who is from out of town and he was amazed! We told him how consistent the food and service is at homegrown! He got the avocado toast with over easy eggs, the honey bee latte, I got the iron man scramble, and my husband got the pigs sandwich. No matter what the food is great! Only thing that would make it better is a better management of the noise - putting a noise reflector above the tables so it's easier to talk to your table. The front is always super busy and nowhere to wait. All in all it's one of the best in town!"

Appreciate being able to get on the waitlist EARLY - highly recommend doing that too as the wait was up to 90 minutes at one point in the morning. Restaurant was a little chilly and loud due to all the people inside. We always come here when we visit Wichita."

Nicole S. "I'm still thinking about the cup of fruit I was served with my breakfast. It was one of those things that didn't look like much -- just a small bowl of red grapes, blueberries, pineapple, green apple and strawberries. But the fruit was cut up precisely, and it was tossed in a citrus dressing with poppy seeds sprinkled on top. It was refreshing and nourishing, and I highly recommend getting fruit if your breakfast offers it as a side. And if it doesn't, it's worth it to get a side of fruit!I was so impressed with my fruit that I almost completely ignored the avocado toast that was my main breakfast dish. The avocado toast is served on a hearty wheat bread, toasted, with smashed fresh avocado and halved grape tomatoes, and crushed red pepper sprinkled on top. You get two eggs on the side, and I got over-medium eggs. The eggs and avocado toast and fruit was like a vitamin shot straight into my bloodstream, and I left the table feeling satisfied and deeply nourished. My healthy breakfast was followed by a house-made lemon hand pie (Pop'd Heart), which had lemon curd inside and sprinkles on top. It was delicious and perfect for people who love the crust part of a pie (like me). I visited HomeGrown with a group, so we ordered some lemon ricotta pancakes for the table. They were good, but you couldn't really taste the lemon. We needed more lemon! Apparently, the thing to order here is the salsa verde pork & egg. It's a popular dish, and judging by what it looks like, it looks like it would taste amazing. The coffee at HomeGrown is great. They serve it to you in big carafes that are placed on the table, so you serve yourself. I drink black coffee, and the coffee by itself, with nothing to alter it, was fantastic."

So I enjoyed the second part of the steak cold. Which I recommend doing. It's still ridiculously tender and flavorful. It's an interesting vibe inside. You'll see. Oh -- and it's really difficult to figure out how to get in. The front door has a different Business's name on it."

We've only enjoyed the food.I don't know if on our first visit the cook was sick, but the chicken and the chicken nachos and on the chicken salad was tough and chewy and completely unflavored. On our second visit, we fared much better. The foods that seemed the most appreciated or the Reuben sandwich, the onion rings, the chicken sandwich, and the hand breaded chicken tenders."

Tay S. "This is from our order two days ago. Placed an order for take out & it was ready in 10 minutes. Not bad for a restaurant around the lunch hour. Here's a rundown of the food. Not pictured: pancakes with strawberries, blueberries and infused with chocolate chips. I was told that it was perfect as is and didn't really need syrup. Also ordered were scrambled eggs with bacon, both cooked well with a good crisp to the bacon. Not pictured: side of biscuits and gravy. Was informed that this was a decent side. Biscuits are small but mighty delicious and the gravy was perfect. Pictured: eggs Benedict which is a filling dish that's well executed. Was told that it is definitely a meal to order on repeat. Pictured: Greek omelet. I've never had this & was intrigued. It's a simple omelet with lots of flavor. It has black olives (I wasn't too sure about it but they worked well), feta cheese and artichoke. It was probably one of the best omelets I have ever had. The seasoned house potatoes were awesome. They had a great amount of seasoning and a good mix of crispy and soft. I could have eaten those all day.I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food here, especially given the amount of options on the menu. While some places can't stay consistent with a vast menu, Egg Cetera does a very good job. I'll definitely be back again soon."

Found this place on my trusty Yelp app. We generally like to try Mom and Pop locations for breakfast as we have usually found they provide the best be breakfast. Well Banjos Cafe is another hot spot to add to our list. When you pull up to this lil place it is off the beaten road. But don't let the location fool you. They are serving up some good breakfast food. I had the veggie omelette with hash browns and pancakes, hubby had the Corny with grits and pancakes. We both enjoyed our breakfast. Omelette well made and full of veggies, hash browns cooked just right and not over cooked or burnt, hubby said his grits had a really good taste to them. Definitely will add this place to my collections."

Maybe they are overworked, under paid, too busy to be cordial? The food was delicious and quick but a huge part of enjoying a meal is having the people that work at the restaurant give off some sort of joy and pleasantry. This place is not somewhere I'd eat at again because I could stop watching these women acting like A-holes to their customers."

The portion sizes are big and the taste of everything I've had so far is fantastic. Service is good with frequent refills of coffee and other check-ins. Due to the increase in egg costs, they did put a note on the door and menu that dishes with eggs will have a slight price change. I think they are opening for dinner soon, too, as they close in the early afternoon after lunch."

Jay G. "Being born half Mexican and half German produced a few more issues than I was perhaps created to handle. Growing up I (almost) always went to Mexico for Xmas vacation, whether I wanted to go or not. The benefits were exposure to the culture and the foods. I may look like your everyday above average ruggedly handsome Midwesterner, but I know "real" Mexican food from yards away. With that said this place is the real deal. If I close my eyes I could easily imagine I'm eating lunch in Monterrey, except for the American extras, cheese, chips, wacky Spanish TV and etc. Anyone into Mexican food I would suggest this place first to form a baseline for everything else.Cheap super tasty Mexican food ? What's better than that? Venture out here for lunch once and you'll be hooked."

Filled with locals on a Saturday during lunch it was a virtual treasure trove of historic memorabilia dating back to the 20's. The service friendly & food outstanding. The hot beef with brown gravy melted in my mouth and the chicken fried steak was as good as you would expect in an old school Oklahoma diner. I saw a huge plate of chili cheese fries go by that I may have to try on my next trip. Topped our meal off with homemade lemon meringue pie & good strong coffee."

Katherine B. "What a lovely experience. A clean and family friendly dining spot with a good selection of options (a little limited for vegetarians but doable). My niece ordered from the kids menu - typical fare like grilled cheese, burger, Mac n cheese bites... My sister ordered the fried chicken and it was fantastic. The chicken was local, never frozen and juicy and flavorful. We each had the salad bar as well - it was fine, nothing to write home about but it was good for me as I am a vegetarian. Salad bar had lettuce, cucumbers, fresh tomato, shredded cheese, diced hard boiled egg, diced onion. Green pepper strips, mushrooms, croutons and diced ham or bacon. Several dressing choices and crackers as well. Our waitress was lovely and attentive, very very friendly and prompt. She was great. I forgot to catch her name, maybe Kristi?? Anyhoo - reallyLiked her. I also had coconut cream pie - a delicious version indeed and a huge slice!!!! We each had a cup of coffee which tasted freshly brewed. Towards the end of our stay my niece got upset and was softly crying while I hugged her. (She recently lost her first beloved pet to the rainbow bridge...), and the girl working there gave her a little present and told her that she should never feel lonely. It was so sweet and touching, I cannot tell you how heart warming a moment it was. These ladies were so wonderful. I wish them all the best and if you need a hot cooked, fresh meal then you should pop on in!"
