"The gals that work here are very friendly and helpful. This place is also very reasonably priced on their products. If they don't already have it they will sure try to get it for you."
"Wonderful wine and spirits store in the heart of old town Wichita. We stopped in to find a bottle of wine to take to a dinner party, and had a great conversation with the owner. The store is beautifully designed, and the prices are very reasonable. They have a small selection of nice liquor as well. Definitely worth the visit!"
"We just had a wonderful experience! The gentleman working checked on a beer for me (that we had tasted while out of town) and when he didn't have it he offered to call a different (competitor company) liquor store to say if they had it. (One that we have used before.)We ended up buying a variety of favs and a new beer to try from here. It got busy when we went to checkout so we had a different person and she was delightful. This location is handy for picking up beverages after getting groceries across the road.Great experience. Will be back."
"As a Riversider, I'd say this is a perfectly decent liquor store. The selection isn't fancy, just normal small neighborhood shop stock. They do carry a European ale that I love and can't find anywhere else in town, and unlike the previous [mildly racist] reviewer, I've never had any issues with this place, its staff or its hours in the many times I've visited."
"Limited selection as far as quantity, but a good mix of wine and beer, and liquor choices. Counter worker was nice, professional, and offered good suggestions on their selection. Worth the drive into town!"
"Been going to the store since they've opened. Despite the higher pricing, I've always supported them. The owner is solid. The short, dark complexion woman who drives the crappy minivan is so rude and has driven me to go to Jacks."
"This place is a banger! Since moving to Wichita, I come here every weekend. Being from the NJ/NY area myself this is the only place in the city that has authentic pizza like where I grew up.Ingredients are fresh, pizza has a great crispy underneath, and the flavor profile always hits! Pictured here is their margherita pie. Comes with fresh basil, dollops of fresh mozzarella, and their savory, slightly sweet marinara sauce. I opted for their pepperoni and white onions as it is my go to. Their pesto pizza is excellent as well. Cheers!"
"The place is not huge, but they have a good selection of wines and cold beers. It is clean, and the staff were nice and helpful. They also have a rewards program that can save you money on a future purchase."
"The location has moved, but this liquor store is still open! The staff is very friendly and always offer a warm welcome. One time, my tire popped and I was waiting for roadside in their parking lot. I appreciated the staff member coming out to make sure everything was okay!"
"They have a great collection of wine from all around the world. Sometimes you can land some great deals on whisky. I was able to score a Glenmorangie 1.75L for $59. The staff was very knowledgeable and courteous."
"The cashier was very patient with me, walking me through their vast selection of beers, liqueurs and wines. I'm not the biggest drinker and am an absolute novice when it comes to this stuff, but she was so helpful. Tons of selection, small and cozy, and friendly workers."
"They are now offering a buffet, and it is wonderful. We actually end up spending a little less than we used to when we would order off the menu, but the nice variety in the buffet makes you want to come more often than before. The catfish is great, beans, pulled pork, sausage, cole slaw etc definitely worth the money. Great job hunnys!"

Exactly what you'd hope for in a wine store: super knowledgeable dude working the sales, pointed out good picks for low-mid-high end bottles of vino. Didn't try to upsell anything unnecessarily. That alone made me want to go back. Plus, the wine variety was definitely a deviation from what you see in a grocery store wine section and was instead more of what you'd find in a good restaurant. Nothing was overpriced either.

Considering the city we are in, this store has a good selection of craft beers. Along with a combination of friendly staff and build your own six packs, it is worth a visit.

Food: 5/5 Everything was delicious. The Extra Pepperoni and Hot Honey Pizza was so good we got a second one to go. The ability to customize the toppings was a win but they vary in price so be aware of that. We added black olives. They have various spices and such you can add. The salt at the table has a great texture to it. They also have garlic powder, fresh ground pepper, oregano, herbed sprinkle cheese and chili pepper flakes. Such a great experience overall. The salads were well dressed and flavorful. The Caesar salad dressing was fresh and vibrant. The Mediterranean was crisp and light. Both had a good amount of fresh lettuce and cheese. My husband and I had a hard time choosing which we liked better. We each also had a cheesecake. I had the Oreo flavor and my husband had the seasonal caramel apple. Service: 5/5 Katie was attentive and friendly. She kept our beverages filled and checked in with us throughout the meal in an unobtrusive way. She was knowledgeable about the menu and history of the restaurant when we asked. She also recommended the addition of the shaker Oregano, which was a subtle but wonderful addition to our pizza. Ambiance: 5/5 Colorful and wonderful. Very chill vibes!

"In all the years I have gone out I'm surprised none of my friends had ever told me to come here. I finally discovered this gem from a friend who lived super close to it. In the time I have been here I have returned multiple times to enjoy what they have to offer. Wednesday night is jeopardy night! Play games with friends and if you win.... there a prize for you and your group! Come on the weekend and from time to time they have some great live bands playing. If there isn't a band they play a great variety of music that u can dance to. If you do come on jeopardy night and come hungry they also do have food options to choose from, like a personal size pizza, mmmmm.... there is parking in the back always in case you don't find street parking. I'm sure once you check this place out you will likely return again like I have."
"They always have a great variety of craft beer and aged and imported whiskey. I like that they are constantly rotating their beer stock. I miss the young guy who was a beer expert. He was always introducing me to new items, but the place is still great. Best feature- the drive up window."
"Very clean and organized store. Could tell they took pride in making sure it was appeasing to the eye. Huge selection to pick from along with a big walk in for your cold beer. Right alongside Aggieville for easy to get to drinking needs."
"R & J is your friendly neighborhood liquor store. It's one of the only ones near downtown so they stay pretty busy. For being a pretty small place they have a big variety of craft beer, wine and everything else you might want. If they don't have something specific that you're looking for they're usually happy to order it for you. R & J has very reasonable prices, it's usually cheaper than anywhere else. The employees are knowledgable, friendly, and efficient. On busy days there is usually a line to check out but it always moves quickly. There is also a smoke shop attached with a variety of e-cig supplies, cigarettes and other things of the sort."
"Great selection of domestic and imported beer singles (bottles and cans) to make your own beer flight. Helpful employees and fellow customers who gave advice. Also check out their clearance cart- some nice surprises to be found there. Will definitely be back."
"Always had good experience in this locally owned place. Great selection and awesome service. Great selection of cigars next door and staff who are passionate about the product they provide."
"Workers are very friendly, but prices are kind of high. Due to the convenient location, Im willing to fork over the extra $$$"
"West location absolutely the worst customer service ever, completely offensive , completely lost mine and my husbands business!!!!"
"Good little liquor store. Only place in town that seems to have the drink I like. Clean and friendly service."
"Oh my gosh! What a crazy great place to find spirits! The focus on the customer is awesome too. We found 'rare' spirits here - absinthe, Blanton's and Eagle's Rare. They take special orders and fulfill if their distribution can obtain. Their prices were in line with expectations, but the KS state taxes are insane! Just short of asking for your first born male..... but, we got the goods here. YAY!"
"Great place to golf. Challenges all skill levels and very well maintained course! Staff is very nice and considerate! Food is good, some are all right, could be better."
"I have witnessed the Holy Grail of liquor stores and it is curiously located in Wichita, KS. This place is unassuming in its location in a strip mall. But don't let outward appearances fool you, inside it is a boozer's delight! According to the guy at the counter, they have 630 different types of beer. Literally an entire WALL of any import or specialty brew you could ever want to find. You can even buy them as singles or in six packs (or larger, depending on what you want). I was paralyzed with indecision - there were too many. This store also sells liquor and regular domestic brands as well. And they sell the cold beer from a huge BEER CAVE in the back! Even if you are going to buy Miller Lite you should come here as apparently the beer at gas stations and such are 3% whereas the liquor stores can sell the higher alcohol content ones - you know, the beer that you normally buy in other states. Don't even think about it, just GO HERE and stock up!!!"
"Agree with previous reviewers that they're a little pricier than they probably should be, but they have a decent selection. Mostly that pertains to liquor (whiskey specifically), but they had a couple microbrews that I hadn't seen before. Employees were cordial once engaged, and I have a feeling that I'll be back a time or two in the future. Overall, they're worth a drop in to see if they've got a thing or two that's worth your hard-earned dollar."
"Here you can get: liquor, wine, beer. The place is tiny so don't expect too much selection. Prices seemed reasonable as well. Slightly over half of their beer cooler is devoted to stocking lots of the domestics (Coors, Bud, Natty, etc.) with the rest hosting a surprisingly decent variety of craft and microbrews. *Anecdote: Since I was visiting I wanted to get some Kansas beer so I pointed to a beer (from Kansas mind you) and asked the worker if it was good. His response "I don't know, I don't drink that import stuff." I told him "It's from Kansas!!" and was informed confusingly that well he considered anything not Coors, Bud, Natty, etc to be "an import". Classic."
"It is awesome to have a new restaurant in the union that is open every day (the other JP's is closed on Mondays) and open later in the evenings (most options in the union close at 7 PM). The ambiance is fantastic with the basketball scoreboard outside of the restaurant, with tons of TVs everywhere, a spacious bar, lots of high-top tables, and a dining area in the back. It is really large and clean. The purple is tasteful and fun, and there is memorabilia on the walls. There are lots of drink and beer specials including beer flights, but it was lunch and we stuck with water today. Our friend and my husband. both ordered the BBQ platter with two meats, baked beans, jicama slaw, and cornbread with chile-lime butter. My husband got ribs and chicken thighs, and our friend. got ribs and pulled pork. There are three BBQ sauces: the house, jalapeno blueberry, and Carolina. My other friend got the Willie Cristo, and I got the ahi tuna poke appetizer as my meal. Our food looked good, but the BBQ platters came sans sauce, so our friend had to chase our server down for the sauces. I tried them all. The house and jalapeno blueberry were very sweet, and the Carolina was very pickle-y. I am a native Texan so perhaps a bit snobby about BBQ. My husband's butter was hard and not very spreadable on his cornbread, and he got a chicken breast, not a thigh (which was not even a menu option). Our server never came back to check on us so our water carafe ran out and he did not get to ask initially about the wrong chicken part on his plate. My friend said her Willie Cristo was good but a bit sweet, and her side of roasted root veggies were really good (though the server was not sure if she was getting all of them or had to pick one?!) - my poke dish was plenty of food considering it was an app, but it was not really as described. It was supposed to be "soy glazed tuna" with mango and wonton. Instead, I got a pile of wonton crisps like it was a nachos set up, topped with chopped tuna (not glazed), cucumber, red bell pepper, and mango with spicy mayo and eel sauce drizzled on it. It was fresh and tasty, but definitely not poke. Perhaps it should have been described as tuna wonton "nachos" the way Bobby Flay describes his at Mesa Grill? Nevertheless, I enjoyed the mango and cucumber, and it was more than enough for an entree. Our server came back and we asked for water and about my husband's chicken thigh. She took the carafe, and another person replaced it. She came back and said, "Oh, someone replaced it?" and we asked about the chicken. She said, "I was trying to be fast and deal with the water first" but obviously someone else was faster. She then brought the manager over. The manager said that we are right, chicken breasts are not an option on the platter, but they are used for the pulled chicken so the kitchen put the wrong cut of chicken on the plate. She brought a BBQ chicken thigh back in a to-go box for us to take home, which was appreciated.Just like the other JP's, tips are not accepted. This place is a great addition but likely since it has only been open just over a week, the staff probably needs more practice both in the kitchen and the front of the house. The manager did make it right though for the dark meat chicken eater. The views of TVs from our booth were great so we could watch basketball, and the atmosphere is fun. It would be a nice place to stop to watch sports or grab a beer, so I will give it another chance."
"This locally-owned store has a large selection of wine, liquor and beer. I did not pay attention, but I also learned later that it is the place to get cigars in town.I got great assistance from the staff in locating wine and beer. Tuesdays (and maybe Wednesdays) all full-priced wine bottles are 20% off. I found a sweet red Bartenura I had never seen before that I am excited to try, since Total Wine in Nevada had discontinued distribution of Bartenura Malavasia not long ago (one of my favorites).I also picked up a Fetzer Riesling and Sam Adams Cherry Wheat...and then I saw Peche Lambic on sale in the large size ($7.99!) . The Fridge has liquor bottles in a variety of sizes. I hope this Fall I can find the horchata Blue Moon here. Cheers!"
"There's only one reason you drink Miller (Coors, Bud) Lite, and it sure as hell isn't for the taste. Craft brewing has become as intricate as wine making, though it's not as widely recognized yet. Some people get it, though - people like Rob, whose World of Beers at Goebel is - quite simply - the best open stock and non-open stock collection of beer I have ever seen. I've been anticipating visiting since I learned of my move to Wichita, and as soon as I entered and made a beeline for the coolers, I was struck breathless at the row after row of unique beers from far and wide. After fifteen minutes of perusing, I somehow managed to throw together a six pack. As I made my way to the register, an employee (maybe it was Rob, though it was probably a good thing I didn't find out, because I feel compelled to hug the man) asked, "Just one six pack?" I didn't say it at the time, but the answer is, "There are going to be many, many more six packs to come."While I was contemplating my selection, I noticed a pair of gentleman come in and pick up a sixer of Dos Equis. I felt like running up to them and shaking them violently, asking them if they realize the treasures they had right under their noses. Life's too short to drink crappy beer. I'll be back, Goebel. Oh yes, I'll be back."
"Great beer selection and I appreciate that they are on untappd. Also appreciate that they open earlier than most on Sundays in case you need to run in before NFL games start. Friendly staff."
"They have a variety of spirits, wines, beers you name it. A lot of local craft beers as well as wines from around the state. Good prices."
"Wow the guy that helped me today was awesome and very kind. He helped me find a dry white wine for cooking with and actually asked if I was military (which I am) for a discount. Dude your awesome and THANK YOU. Very nice store"
"Awesome and authentic Kansas steakhouse. Highly recommended.Excellent locally grown steak. Great stuff. Navigate cool eclectic interior. Really felt like I was in Kansas!"
"after all the hype in Sex and the City I had to try the cupcakes and they were as good as I had imagined!"
"A little off the "beaten" path, but not that far, AND well worth a visit. Situated in beautiful rolling hills, this winery creates enjoyable, wonderful-tasting wines, and quite a line of them, too. They also have meat and cheese trays (for about $8.00) to enjoy with their wines."
