"What a cool place! From vintage art and retro posters to modern up today images of Wichita created by the owners. Dock 410 won't disappoint. You might even find a little vintage Architectural art to add to your home. If nothing else, you will be treated to good conversation and meet great people!"
"Awesome talent here. Finally a place to showcase talented local artists. Choose from paintings, pottery, wood crafting, metal work, the list goes on."
"The team here is amazing! They take the time to sit down and walk you through everything. If you need a guiding hand or just great quality work this is your place!"
"I've been hearing a lot of buzz recently about Mid-America Fine Arts, so I made a point to check it out while visiting Wichita in July 2010. I was greeted at the door and given a personal tour of the gallery. The Prairie Print Makers exhibition was still going on when I visited. I think 200-some pieces from regional artists were hung in the main gallery, and there were hundreds more pieces in the side rooms. The staff were very friendly and informed about the artists and works in their collection. I enjoyed the tour, and I wish I had more time to look through the pieces in the back rooms. I recommend paying a visit to Mid-America Fine Arts to fans and collectors living near or visiting Wichita."
"Visiting Sandzen Gallery was a wonderful treat for us during our one day in Lindsborg. I was thrilled to get to the Svensk Hyllningsfest this year, the biennial Swedish festival that this town embraces. During a break from the main happenings downtown, we walked to Bethany College on recommendation by locals to check out this gallery. The front room features wood carvings, mostly from local artists. Inside the first gallery room were many magnificent Sandzen works on display. I learned that the artist was from Sweden, and made his way to Lindsborg, KS (known as Little Sweden) after reading a book by the founding college president. He spent his whole career at Bethany College as an art professor, turning down many other offers at places like University of Michigan. He was clearly well-traveled, based on the locations of his paintings. The side halls and back room featured other artists, many of whom studied under Sandzen. It was a real treat. The front room was being set up for a 50th class reunion, and a grand piano was on one side. Of course when I opened my google app while inside I saw the esteemed pianist from KSU, my friend Dr. Dobrzanski, would be performing in the gallery in November! How cool is that? I would recommend a visit if you are ever in this area of Kansas!"
"This is such a cute little place. All of the art they had for sale was beautiful. They had a section of round ornaments on sale for $15. I was tempted to make my own ornament but couldn't justify paying $25 to do so. We were still able to go to the back and watch other people make ornaments, which was almost as cool."
"Scott did a custom piece that resides in the entry way of our new home. It is absolutely gorgeous! He is easy to work with and extremely talented. We could not be more pleased."
"Only place to stay in town!! Classy place set in an old JC Penneys. Nine great rooms, lovely hosts and nothing in town that comes close."
"If you're in town, check this place out, and ask for a free tour. The tour was amazing."

Beautiful museum - small but packed with really lovely works of art by Swedish born American Landscape artist, Birger Sandzén. The museum is located in the cute town of Lindsborg, Kansas, and was settled by Swedish immigrants. It is on the way from Texas to Colorado. This gem of a museum is worth a stop if you love post impressionist style paintings and woodcuts and linocuts! Also, very friend staff!

Very beautiful things here! Nice attendant to answer questions. They teach glass blowing classes for kids ages 5 and up. Summer program for kids. Date night for adults. Birthday parties or special occasions too!Lots for sale. Huge range of prices. Lots of glass ornaments, vases, bowls, earrings, jewelry... Not everything they offer is glass, either. They have welded artwork and wood things, too. Jewelry boxes, wooden cars, puzzle boxes...It's all amazing and full of imagination and wonder!

Scott is one of the most talented people I've met. If you are looking for something small..or a real statement piece for your home...shop his glass at a show or go to his website. We have several pieces that we love. Even the gruff and tough moving guys said "Man, what is that? It's so cool!"

My father and I stayed here for 5 nights in October 2014. It is by far the nicest, cleanest and most welcoming place to stay in the area. The hosts Laura and Mel make you feel very comfortable. They are able to give you complete privacy while making you also feel that you are a welcomed guest. Our room felt more like an apartment. We had 3 beds in our room King, Queen and a twin. Also had a nice dining and living room area. Laura made sure every morning that we had fresh coffee, juice and plenty to eat. Going as far to let us know if there was something missing in the kitchen that we wanted she would get it for us. I will definitely stay here again and would recommend it to everyone.

"We visited this place today and actually I thought it deserved four stars, but more about that later. Lucas is a tiny town, but it's become a center of grassroots art (for example, self-taught artists and folk art/etc.). The Grassroots Art Center has a permanent exhibit for which the charge is $6.50 (it's not a real large exhibit, but there's some neat stuff) and it also has some colorful items for sale in the main room. In addition, there's a good-sized room where lectures are given. The woman working there today was very enthusiastic (also a little pushy, but we ended up really benefiting from our visit and therefore I don't begrudge her).We wanted to visit the infamous Florence Deeble House, and someone from the Grassroots Art Center needs to take people there (it's free of charge). It just so happened that a festival was held in Lucas today, and the artist who made all of the items on the walls of the house was in town. The woman at the Grassroots Arts Center had the artist take us and another couple on a tour of the house - and that house is FASCINATING! The artist (Pilar) has - during the past 11 (I think) years - made *thousands* of colorful, unusual and fascinating objects that are hanging all over each wall in the house. It's truly indescribable and she told us many interesting anecdotes. If you're within a few hours of Lucas, I highly recommend a visit (there's little else to see, with the exception of Eric Abraham's Flying Pig Studio and Gallery [see my separate review] - and admittedly Pilar isn't often available to give tours of the Deeble House - but we were enthralled). The reason why I gave five stars is because the Grassroots Art Center enables a visit to the extraordinary Florence Deeble House.HOURS:May-September: 10-5 on Monday-Saturday and 1-5 on Sunday.October-April: 10-4 on Thursday-Saturday & Monday, and 1-4 on Sunday."
"Jim tweeted at me after I posted a photo from Lindsborg. I stopped by on my way back to Oklahoma and Jim and Kathy couldn't have been nicer. We enjoyed a cup of coffee and talked for an hour! Love the photography and jewelry. I highly suggest stopping by if you're near Lindsborg (Salina, KS) area. I'm not through often, but when I am I'll be back."
"This is a great place for events and to admire the local artist. We have a big dinner event in the hall and the entire set-up was lovely. Thanks for hosting!"
"Super excited to try this new local coffee shop! We tried the Smores and Grandma's Cookie lattes and both were excellent. We also bought a bag of whole bean coffee roasted in Springfield. They sell Coleys Cookies treats, which are so good. The owner was also awesome and very enthusiastic about all they have to offer, which I love. Must try!"
"Don't let the name mislead you! SO MUCH MORE TO DISCOVER HERE!!! Yes, it is a marvelous, upscale ART GALLERY featuring, acclaimed local artists as well as jaw dropping regionalists from Tennessee to Texas & Montana to Mississippi! Of course, they will FRAME your treasured artwork as well. HOWEVER, under the same gargantuan roof, & owned by the same sassy proprietress, there is a wonderland of shops & services to be discovered. The WOODSHED (found elsewhere on YELP) is a larger-than-you-would-believe RESTAURANT decorated on the eclectic side with huge metal business signs from yesteryear & amazing artwork covering the walls. A full bar named CHERRY'S welcomes you with a stage area for live bands & piano brunches located across the large hall! The sweet service was extra friendly here! In another area (you must explore) is an upscale GIFT BOUTIQUE with inventory I'd expect in a Chicago shoppe, not Carthage. Nice to know good taste is appreciated & fostered everywhere! The WINE SHOP & RARE SPIRITS ROOM is stocked to the brim with luscious sips & libation accoutrement! Scamper over to the FINE LADIES APPAREL for unique, bespoke creations before entering a java jamboree in their coffee lounge known as MOTHER ROAD COFFEE (also on YELP). I was blown away. You might ask someone on the square to direct you toward the correct quadrant as it's not exactly clear through which door to enter. But once there, no treasure map is needed as they lay right before your eyes...everywhere!!!"
"For a city the size of Joplin, this is a great little museum. I enjoy going in to see the various exhibits throughout each year. I would love to see this museum/gallery grow and encompass a greater part of our community, however. At times it does feel very clique-ish and perhaps a little bit elitist, which is so unfortunate! On the other hand, I am not sure how to solve that problem as people who do not have an interest in Art are unlikely to start visiting Spiva in droves...so until then, I'll just enjoy it!"
"I've submitted a name change for this business, but it looks like it still hasn't been approved. CityArts, as it is actually known, has been my saving grace since moving to Wichita. I moved to Wichita on a long-term but temporary assignment for work, having never visited or even met anyone from Wichita. On my 3rd day in town, I happened to pick up a CityArts catalog at a local coffee shop and immediately scrambled to make the registration deadline for the Silversmithing class. This is honestly the best move I've made in ages -- the class is CHEAP at $125 for 10 weeks/25 hours of instruction and so so so so so worth it. I've now taken 2 terms and am sad to be signing up for my final term before leaving my assignment in Kansas. Kathy has been an AMAZING teacher -- I've gone from knowing near NOTHING about metalwork to designing and crafting brass and silver pieces that strangers have asked to purchase. I could not recommend Kathi's classes more emphatically."
"There is some great art of various mediums, mainly photography by the owner and a variety of paintings. Most, if not all of the art is local and it's pretty good. I do think the gallery could use some updating - it doesn't have your typical "gallery" feel. Instead it feels more like an outdated office with some early 90s looking carpet and fluorescent light fixtures. The sign outside also looks run down. But building aside, there is some great local art that's worth a look!"
"They always have great programs. I've never seen a bad play here. I like the art gallery, too. It's small, but they have new displays regularly and take great pride in featuring local artists."
"This is really a wonderful gift shop located in downtown Lindsborg, Kansas. There's a ton of Swedish gifts and goodies available - and you can order a hand made dala horse to decorate the front of your home. The highlight is often watching the local artisans working on these traditional Swedish welcome signs."
"A wonderful art gallery located in Alva, Oklahoma. Graceful Arts featuring works by Oklahoma and Kansas artists. Award winning artist Robert Daniels is currently featured as well as works from Andrea Davis and others. You would be hard pressed to find a gallery of this quality in Oklahoma city. Tiriffic lighting, spaced well, plenty of public seating, and a very professional, knowledgeable staff. This is not the usual small-town slap dash amature gallery that appears in so many locations. A polished professional gallery that would be the envy of any community. If you're in northwest Oklahoma, drop by you won't be disappointed."
"It's been a while since I've visited here but I remember stepping into the house/museum and was completely blown away with what a unique place it is. The tour guide gave us a thorough explanation of Lester Raymer's life. I had no idea that such a talented and interesting man lived right here in central Kansas. If you're traveling through and enjoy art this is a must see."
