Matt E. "Trying to kill some time on a Saturday with the family, we ended up in this store. I'm glad we did, because it's pretty dang great, and it defied expectations. For a place called "architectural salvage," this biz has a much larger "antique store" element than I had expected. Virtually the entire sizable first floor is dedicated to a selection of antiques that I found to be incredibly interesting! I wouldn't be able to even scratch the surface of telling you the types of items, but I'd say that the collection lends itself to items that were originally meant to be functional, rather than decorative. Their collection of antique binoculars and telescopes was fascinating, as were their scales. I also really enjoyed rummaging through their apothecary bottles, a personal favorite of mine.Of course, this IS an architectural salvage, so you're also treated to massive stained glass windows, service counters carefully removed from turn-of-the-century businesses, entire displays of doorknobs and hinges and light fixtures. If you were looking for period-appropriate parts for your home, I trust they'd have it. While the prices are high enough I wouldn't say you'd get anything at a steal, the selection is incredibly impressive. Maybe it's still somewhat of a secret and hasn't yet been picked over? Whatever it is, if you're into this type of business, you'll be happy!"

Kris S. "Creativity and inspiration overflow from this darling little shop in College Hill.A mix of antique store, decorator showcase, and curiosity shop, Juliana Daniel has been "green" for years with its appreciation for reuse- traditional or adaptive- of old items of all shapes and sizes, colors, textures, and practicalities.Unlike many antique shops that gravitate toward a specific style or period, Juliana Daniel is decidedly eclectic. A real strength of the proprietress is her ability to mix a little of this with a little that with an "anything goes" magic. When shopping here, you'll learn by example that if you fill your home with things you love, everything will "match."And the prices? There's quite a range of merchandise, all of it very fairly priced."

Troy lets you wander in peace but will help out with a handy measuring tape with the slightest of requests. I found the pricing to be fair and similar to the cluttered stores after they give you the inevitable vendor discount. This experience was less like shopping and more like adopting an item of tangible history."

With the store packed wonderful tight full of vintage goodies one could spend hours in this store. It has vintage dresses, hats, gloves, cookware, lawn furniture, and did I mention the amazing vintage jewelry!!!! Necessities has the BEST selection of vintage jewelry i have ever seen. Even compared to some of the big cities I've visited. Necessities is where I buy ALL of my jewelry. The nice thing about this lovely place is the prices are fair. The owner is always helpful and very friendly. They are always updating the store for new seasons. This honestly is my favorite store in Hutchinson."

You know, the musky, dusty with a hint of mothball smell?Don't forget to go to the north end of the building to check out the furniture section. There are some beautiful pieces back there.I love how when they remodeled they pulled the front desk to right in front of the door with a round shape so there's more counter space to set items while you wait to be checked out. Also appreciate the soda machine up front.... for those that are waiting patiently on a significant other to finish their browsing. :)Lots of parking in the lot and the store hours are pretty convenient with the exception of not being open on Sunday. (seriously... Sunday when everyone has time to go treasure hunting???)"

Many of the items on display were from her aunt's house as they clean it out due to the aunt's illness. I got some antique brass, silver and pewter bells that were just adorable, 1st edition 1911 fiction book for Boy Scouts, jewelry, and so many great treasures. If you didn't know the store was there, you might miss it. Jace K. "4 out of 5 stars! The women at the front were pleasant when actually chatting with them, but not overly helpful otherwise. There's a fairly wide selection of items in here, about what you'd expect for an antique mall of this size. While other antique malls in the area have a larger selection, this one was still fun to browse through. It wasn't overly cluttered, though there wasn't much that I felt like I REALLY needed to take home with me. Not junk necessarily, but nothing that would improve my home or my life majorly. I also found that a lot of the booths were a bit overpriced? This seems to be a problem in the Joplin area specifically, as antique malls in other nearby cities (Springfield, Kansas City, Branson, etc) all seem to have lower prices on average than what you can find in JOMO. Still, there are some hidden treasures if you're willing to look! - I particularly enjoyed the booth close to the front with all the Pokemon cards. They'll make great stocking stuffers when the holidays come around :)- The booth on the left side with handmade ceramics was also awesome! Very reasonably priced and unique, interesting work. These would also make great Christmas gifts!Definitely worth checking out and we'll probably be back, but watch what you're spending! It can get up there pretty fast!"

This antique mall is a good size, and not claustrophobic or dusty like some are. The main downside of this place is the price range, which is high. If I was going to actually buy some things here for my house I would only be able to get like one or two statement pieces, because they really are charging top dollar for their antiques. A cool place to look around, though."
