"I think this is a cool spot. I was passing thru and wanted a Topeka specific vibe/ tradition place and wasn't disappointed. The beer I had was fantastic. Exactly as the wait staff presented it. Wish I had gotten a growler but I was flying home in a few days so it wasn't plausible. The food was great. I had the steakhouse burger which is a mix of the trimmings on their steaks. Im not a burger guy. But I read the description and had to try it. It was really awesome. Grilled sour dough bread. The pickle with it was great. So great. Wish I had one right now. Definitely give it a try if just visiting."
"This casual restaurant/bar/ bakery was awesome. The service was on point, huge bourbon selection and the food delicious. They had small plates so we could order and try a bunch of different items on the menu. The surprise stars of the menu were the fried bologna slider and the fried asparagus. If you are ever in Manhattan, KS this place is a must try."

"I came here on a Wednesday around noon after a work event nearby at Stillwater Medical Center along with my coworkers. I'm from the Edmond/OKC area, but have never been to Stillwater before. I was excited to finally get some of the very popular Eskimo Joe's merch, and snagged a hoodie and sweater. I didn't realize how huge Eskimo Joe's is! This restaurant is connected to a merch/souvenir-type store fully stocked with everything and anything OSU, Eskimo Joe's, and Oklahoma gear. The store staff members were very friendly and helpful. The restaurant has great food and service. The group I came with ordered the regular cheese fries and bacon cheese fries. The fries came with ranch and were delicious. A few coworkers who were with me have been here quite a few times because their children go to college at OSU, so they gave me some recommendations. I ordered the Classic Joe burger. This came with a choice of side, and I got the pasta salad with Italian dressing. The pasta salad was underwhelming, but the burger was very satisfying. I appreciated that the bun didn't fall apart and kept all of the inside together.A couple of my coworkers ordered the chicken sandwiches. The chicken breast pieces were huge, but tough. Overall I had a great experience and would come back again and maybe try some cocktails and more menu items - probably will avoid the chicken sandwiches!"
"The chicken fried steak is deservedly famous. They were closed for remodeling last time I was in Oklahoma so it was nice to check it out. The breakfast portion would have fed two people. So I enjoyed the second part of the steak cold. Which I recommend doing. It's still ridiculously tender and flavorful. It's an interesting vibe inside. You'll see. Oh -- and it's really difficult to figure out how to get in. The front door has a different Business's name on it."
"This is the most divine place to eat, in west wichita. The crab cakes, are out of this world. The drink menu is incredible. The atmosphere is romantic and classy and beautiful. The service is professional and friendly. I love this place. Truly, the best."
"Decided on this place after watching TikTok to get ideas of places to eat in Topeka. The place was super cute. We went upstairs to eat and had great service. It tried the mojito which was really good. We had Mac and cheese bites for our appetizer and the elote burger. Food was very good and would return if back in Topeka."
"My wife and I were invited to a business appreciation dinner. I had never been to S&S before this. Even with a more limited menu chosen by the people who invited us all I was pleasantly surprised. Good food, great atmosphere."
"Good diverse menu. A little bit pricey for what you get. Fun atmosphere and good service. We have yet to eat here in the day, so we haven't been able to watch the airplanes. We've only enjoyed the food.I don't know if on our first visit the cook was sick, but the chicken and the chicken nachos and on the chicken salad was tough and chewy and completely unflavored. On our second visit, we fared much better. The foods that seemed the most appreciated or the Reuben sandwich, the onion rings, the chicken sandwich, and the hand breaded chicken tenders."
"Very cool dinner, from the variety of food choices, great oldies playing to the waitress attire. They are very polite and friendly. Prices was good as well."
"First time here and I've lived in the area all my life. Should've came sooner! Was busy but seated quickly. Very attentive staff. Food came quickly. Nice and hot. My favorite breakfast any where is B&G and theirs is at the top of my list now. Very reasonable prices. Definitely be back!"
"One of the coolest places I've gone out to to get food and relax. I did not know this place existed and it seems to be more popular on the west coast. I am hoping they expand and moving closer to the east coast. Pickle ball and chicken is a great combination so you can't go wrong. A place you can spend a ton of time at."
"Old School Mom & Pop feel. If you are in the Topeka area and are looking for a spot to eat, this place is perfect. The staff was attentive and the food was like mom made it for me. (If mom knew how to make a great traditional breakfast)"

The waitresses were all very kind. My husband was over the moon about the beers then had. Great variety. We came on a Friday and their prime rib and bison burger was out of stock so we split a burger. We came a second time and my husband got a steak and I got the tiger Que plate. Some of the meats were dried out however the homemade bbq sauce was delicious.

Always great food. The duck fat fries are always great. Crispy fries with an over-easy egg and a sauce that you want to lick the bottom of the bowl will have you coming back!

This was my very first time to eat at an Eskimo Joes. I am a long time wearer of their tee shirts. In my 20s and 30s, I had relatives going to OSU. Each Christmas, I would get a new E J tee shirt. About the time one sister in law graduated, another would start. After years of advising for them by wearing their T shirts, I finally had lunch at Eskimo Joe's. I learned a lot today. All these years, I have been laboring with the false idea that Eskimo Joes is a pizza place. No pizza. It's more of a burger place. Move it in day is probably not the best day to evaluate the restaurant. We were there to help our grandson get moved in to his dorm. The university was packed with students and their parents, grandchildren, and grandparents helping them get moved in to their dorm. We knew wherever we had lunch, there would be a long wait. At least we got to spend our wait time in their merchandise room. It gave us something to do. Today was my first time to get cheese fries. It's never sounded good to me someone else ordered them and I discovered fries make a better base for nachos than chips. My husband and grandson got classic burgers, my daughter got a blackened chicken dinner, and my son in law and I got Little Joe burgers. I had decided that the classic burger is a better deal because it comes with fries and lettuce and tomatoes. I like small burgers but I have to have lettuce and tomatoes. My Little Joe burger had no lettuce and tomato ... just meat and a bun. My son in law explained that he gets the Little Joe because it has onions cooked into the meat. I decided he was right. The meat in a little Joe does taste much better. I had a bite of my husband's classic and the onion cooked with the meat is much better. My grandson took his lettuce and tomato off his classic because he doesn't like lettuce and tomato on his burgers. He gave it to me, so I was happy. The blackened chicken was too salty and not spicy enough. The French fries were greasy and not good. We ate them, anyway. It might be that they are much better when the restaurant is not as busy. I will give them another try. We will be going to Stillwater frequently to see take our grandson to lunch. I will post an update on the fries.

Great place for breakfast or brunch! Wait staff were all very attentive and made sure our coffee cups were full. Obviously an OSU favorite... very busy and very popular, even on an away-game weekend. Highly recommend!

The Pennant is an absolute gem in Topeka, and I can't recommend it enough! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was welcoming and lively, striking the perfect balance between modern and nostalgic vibes. Whether you're there for a family outing, date night, or just a casual meal with friends, The Pennant delivers an incredible dining experience. We decided to try the Tailgater Special, and let me tell you--it was a game-changer. Every bite was packed with bold flavors, and the attention to detail in each dish was evident. The smash burger was a true highlight of the meal. Cooked to absolute perfection, it had that perfect crispy edge while remaining juicy and flavorful in the center. The toppings were fresh, balanced, and thoughtfully chosen to enhance the overall taste. And the shakes? Out of this world! These aren't your average milkshakes. They're rich, creamy, and taste like pure indulgence. Whether you're a fan of classic flavors or something a little more adventurous, their shake menu will leave you spoiled for choice. To top it all off, the staff at The Pennant were friendly and attentive, ensuring our dining experience was smooth from start to finish. Their passion for great food and excellent service truly shines through. If you're in Topeka and haven't tried The Pennant yet, do yourself a favor and go! Whether you're there for a burger, a shake, or their fun arcade games, this place has something for everyone. We'll definitely be back for another round of their incredible menu!

"Old-school diner at its bestMelissa couldn't of been sweeter and more helpful Visiting Wichita and plan on going back for breakfast in the morning"
"Friendly fast service and very clean restaurant and give you a lot for your buck and food made to order was not rushed out fast and half assed I had a meat lovers omelette with extra cheese it was fabulous highly recommended to stop here and eat"
"I stopped and off the interstate for a quick lunch. I was so glad I did. I was greeted with amazing customer service, if you're as lucky as me you'll get to meet Whitney too. All the staff was super friendly and my salad and jalapeño poppers were delicious. This will be my go to spot in western Kansas."
"Sunday morning, small town America. It's crowded. They are moving pretty quickly but every single people working there are jerks. Maybe they are overworked, under paid, too busy to be cordial? The food was delicious and quick but a huge part of enjoying a meal is having the people that work at the restaurant give off some sort of joy and pleasantry. This place is not somewhere I'd eat at again because I could stop watching these women acting like A-holes to their customers."
"Had the spud and brisket and loved every bite. Salad was fresh and delicious. Been traveling a lot and this food was best I had in months,"
"REAL beef! Patties made & grilled to order. Best strawberry limeade (free refils) ever! FRESH fries. Nostalgic 1950's retro vibe to this place. Swivel stool seating inside or drive-up car service. Little pricey for some, but u get what u pay for. Support local-owned businesses like this one whenever I can. Located a few blocks off downtown area of Main St."
"After my recent visit to Tropicana, I'm wondering why I haven't been here more often. The fish bowls are gigantic (but in a good way) and the burgers are perfection. I believe they have expanded their options recently so they were able to make any of the burgers into a vegetarian version. I ordered the vegetarian version of the Jerk Burger and it was PERFECTION! Probably one of the best burgers I've had in Joplin. It was interesting to have pineapple in a burger but now I don't want it any other way. And the onion rings are massive but so so good! I believe they have a spicy ranch too so I highly recommend getting that with the onion rings/fries. I can't wait to come back and explore more of their menu now!"
"Pumphouse nails it! Great( and generous food portions) reasonably priced drinks, TV's everywhere and most important, wonderful Midwest hospitality! They do a great job of making a first timer feel like a local. Nostalgia about the place ( former gas station!) and area is very cool, but it's the customer service and the staff that sets it apart! Anyone and everyone will take care of you. Inside/outside- 3 outdoor patios and plenty of space inside. So let's talk about food.... The large portions and in house food creations are excellent. Pizza, wings and burgers are all among the best. The prices.....I'm afraid to comment as I want to make sure it's not too crowded next time I'm town. I love finding local places to be and this is one of my tops!"
"Within moments of arriving I knew we had made the right decision. The second we were seated the server had hot coffee ready to pour and drink orders working. I had the strawberry pancakes. They made me feel like a kid again. SO tasty and fluffy. My family had eggs and biscuits and gravy, they all raved about their meals. If you are passing through Liberal, KS stop here. I know we will be back."
"Growing up in Kansas City, Stroud's was an all time favorite. While this isn't the Oak Ridge Manor location, it is a taste of home. We were able to sit right down, as there were only a few patrons in the restaurant. The food was wonderful, service was great. Will continue to visit when we are passing through Wichita."
"always some good juicy flavorful burgers with a side of crispy curly fries, when i stop by on the way back home! i'll never pass up a bogeys burger, great prices and quality food! service was great for how packed they were inside and out!"
"Food was straight fire. The service was ok and the ambiance is sort of like a dive bar without alcohol, and in not that good a way. The food though, was worth every penny. Pot roast with Okra, with a loaded baked potato and cottage cheese. Such a great piece of banana cream pie. Overall it was wonderful, I would go again for sure!"
"We make sure to have breakfast here every time we get to town. Great food, friendly service, for a fair price!"
"Love the variety on the menu! The staff is always very friendly and the food is always very good!"
"Honestly for me they have the best burgers in town. I van live without everything else if they keep the burgers and never change them."
"Found this little gem passing through town. Everything was wonderful and actually made from scratch. The Bierock was steaming hot and seasoned perfectly. The Rueben was huge and one of the best we've ever had. The town is really cute. Service was excellent."
"First time trying a burger at Bill's. First impression of the decor was a cross between a roadhouse and farm shed which is awesome! Was not expecting to see steaks and chicken sandwiches on the menu as I thought it was burgers only so that was a nice surprise. Ordered the double cheese burger medium. Place was not busy so food came out quick. I enjoyed putting my burger together since the veggies were in a separate baggie which kept them cool and crisp. The burger was more medium well but tasted absolutely delicious! The amount of char on the burgers was perfect and gave the burgers that backyard bbq taste. Fries were nice and crispy. I was very impressed and must say it's the tastiest burger I have had in Wichita so far. Reasonably priced too. Can't wait to be back to try their steak and chicken sandwich."
"Nice service. Music was a distraction but when asked the management turned it down.food - meat loaf, steak tips were very good."
"In June of 2019, I participated in Biking Across Kansas and Holton was our last overnight before our eighth and final day of riding into Atchison. I was so taken by the friendliness of the people of the quaint town, I have wanted to revisit it ever since. So, on a beautiful Sunday afternoon, we took the top off of the Jeep and took some back roads to Holton from our home in Lenexa. Being Sunday, businesses on the town square were closed but Boomer's, just a block or so off the square, was open.My wife had the broasted chicken special and I ordered a cheeseburger. Service was good, although a large group seemed to have disrupted things a bit. Food was served promptly, hot and tasty. We split a piece of their strawberry pie--outstanding!If ever in Holton again, we'd definitely stop in."
"Busy place but not a game day. The food was good but not as hot as it has been but the beer wasn't as cold as I like. We enjoyed our our meal but it wasn't 5 stars."
"I found myself in the not so little northern Oklahoma town of Enid for work and wandered into this joint for dinner. I am so glad I did... to the point that I ended up not being upset about being out of town and by myself on my birthday. Admittedly, I am particular about my bbq, especially ribs. I genuinely expected very little from this joint in regards to quality of the bbq but I was absolutely blown away by Swadley's... in a good way.The setting is very pleasant and the cleanliness is above most. The service is excellent (thank you Ariana!) and my glass was never below 1/2 full. The menu choices are vast but not overwhelming. The prices are surprisingly lower than most bbq joints in TX. The fresh cut fries and the sweet beans are enjoyable. They offer 4 bbq sauces so you can customize your flavor... but you may not even mess the sauce because the meat is excellent. The brisket is tender, has a nice smoke ring and a flavorful bark. The sausage isn't greasy or spicy so it is enjoyable too. The chicken is seasoned and cooked perfectly. The ribs have the right amount of pull from the bone, bark, tenderness, and flavor. Very impressive Swadley's! Very impressive!"
"Food: 4/5 Good flavor and giant portions. Didn't love my Salisbury steak but my hubby enjoyed his biscuits and gravy. Service: 5/5 The wait staff were all friendly and knowledgeable. It felt like going to a mom and pop cafe because that's what it is. Very casual and very cool. Ambiance: 3/5 The vibe is sort of old school meets homey but they could do with a declutter. The adverts on the tables I can deal with but the walls are covered with pictures and they are not spaced or positioned well. There was decorations but it felt haphazard in the worst way. You can do cute and kitschy clutter, but only if you do it well."
"This bar and grill has been an icon in Enid as far back as I can remember. I couldn't wait to be old enough to go in and get a beer and burger.Years later, I visited and took my husband so he could enjoy the famous chili burger. I even bought a t-shirt! The prices are really reasonable. I would come here before going to a chain for a burger. The beer is cold, the pool tables are ready for you to drop by and shoot a game or two. There was even a sign on the table boasting a hot link sandwich special. This go around, my sister and I took dad. He really enjoyed the chili burger. My sister left the chili and onions of of hers. I had a large glass of tea this visit. Next time I come in, I'm going to work KY way through the menu!"
