I ordered a Rodney Special, it's listed under burgers, and it is stated on the menu as "patty melt with grilled onions and mushrooms"..I received a hamburger patty with grilled onions and mushrooms on it. I tried to politely explain that this isn't a patty melt as stated on the menu. She said "well I checked the menu again and it just says a patty with onions and mushrooms". I look back at the menu and, again, it states it's a patty "melt" not just a hamburger patty/steak. I tried to explain but she just kept making excuses and asked if I wanted her to take it back and melt some cheese on it. She just wasn't understanding. So let's break down what a patty melt is: a hamburger patty, with melted cheese, grilled onions (mushrooms are often an option as well) and typically sandwiched between Texas toast. What I received, since there was no bread and no cheese is what is called "hamburger steak" which they also had, listed under dinners. How do you offer both but don't know the difference between the 2. I'd hate to get the patty melt even more, the plate would come out with just a plain hamburger patty on it.‍

So happy to find this little spot while in the panhandle for work. We almost thought it was closed as there is a sign for them on a closed building. Whew! They are open!They had burgers, fries, beef tops, Mexican food, etc. You name it they had it.Prices were great and service was super friendly.

Very good home made food, wife had home made Mexican food and I had delicious chicken fried steak and best home cooked fries ever! Only thing that was not good was the cream gravy, definitely a mix. Small place, easy to miss.

Best restaurant for miles!! This is the only place to eat for miles, so it has that going for it. Depending on your definition of homemade, it's partly homemade. The mashed potatoes were real potatoes, but the gravy surely came from a bag or mix. I had steak fingers, which was chicken fried steak cut into strips. With nearby fields of black angus cattle, one would think a guy could get a fat, prime, ribeye. I'm guessing the steak fingers were beef, but they were mostly breading so it was hard to tell. Mystery meat, perhaps, but it sure was salty and kinda soggy.

Had breakfast on 9/3/2024. Excellent food. Clean bathroom and dining area. They need to reupholster their chairs! Excellent and friendly staff. Will stop again. Was hard to identify the building. Needs better signage. Will visit again.

Very good food definitely stop by if passing by go ahead and stop. You will not regret it

Good grief! How can the people of this small jerkwater town afford to eat here enough so this place can stay open. I can get the same breakfast at Country Pride, Iron Skillet, or flying J Dennys for about 4-5 less bucks. This is egregious price gouging. And the food isn't that much better. If your traveling north or coming south from Liberal, KS just do yourself a favor and go to Pancake House there in Libera. Yes truckers there is room for big truck parking. And the food is much better and they don't price gouge their customers. It's on US 54. Oh and one more thing, it had rained the night before which caused a leak thru the roof. And listening to the waitress talking to another customer, it happens every time it rains. What?! you don't give a crap and don't bother to fix it? So your customers have to put up with this crap? I guess Brian doesn't have much pride in himself.

Taran the waitress was awesome. Chicken strips were ok but a little done but gravy with it was great. Great stop for first time visit.

We stopped in and had a wonderful meal. The service was excellent and friendly. The hot homemade salsa was great. Everything there is homemade. Highly recommended!!

Great little cafe at the south west corner of the highway 412/83 intersection. Good burgers, GREAT hamburger steak, good desserts. Low prices. Real food. Open til 9 on weekdays. I don't know about hours on Sundays.
