My family business brings us into Concordia every three months and for the last 2 years every time in town we stop by britt's along with many other small businesses downtown. This morning we stopped by and I stayed outside due to having a soft pretzel from another business and as a 20 year fine dining chef I know it's rude to bring outside food into a food seller. So I sat outside and was eating my pretzel, but unfortunately I forgot how to chew properly and chocked on a bite. I forced down the piece of food and ended up needing to spit a little due to the situation. Instead of seeing I was in distress or having an issue the woman running the store came to the door and asked if I was spitting on "her" sidewalk I tried to explain the situation but she rolled her eyes and walked back inside before I could even get out half a sentence. Luckily the smoke shop a couple doors down had drinks because I definitely wasn't going to walk into her store and pay for her product if she was just more concerned about some random person spitting on the sidewalk rather than them choking right outside of her door. Oh and throwing a bucket of soapy water on the sidewalk once you assumed I had walked away and staring at me down the block was a nice touch of customer service.
