Brant's Market

In the same little town where we explored the unusual and wonderful Garden of Eden, with it's home and sculptures of S.P. Dinsmore; my brother and I got a hot tip about a local meat market.Brant's Meat Market in Lucas, Kansas, has been owned by one family for 94 years. They specialize in a mild ring bologna, a spicy pepper sausage, smoked sausages for the grill, jerky, raw sausage meat and other meats and cheeses. Super busy, yet friendly and informative, we sampled their smoked meats and loved their little downtown.The pepper sausage and the jerky are top notch; but everything was good and we bought most everything!

Amazing bologna and cheese! I'm not a huge bologna fan but had to sample some while visiting this charming establishment in Lucas. It is almost more like a summer sausage, and was incredibly delicious. Had I been equipped with a cooler I would have certainly brought some home!

Brandt's has the very best Bologna I have ever tasted or cooked and all of their homemade sausages are great too. If you like top shelf bologna and sausage it is well worth making the trip to Lucas, Kansas and take it Lake Wilson when you go. I used to own Johnsons BBQ Restaurant in Great Bend and we smoked and served Brandt's Meats whenever it was available.

Exceptional cannot begin to describe this treasure of a locker plant. Try the bologna, the head cheese, the everything!! Truly my most favorite place to come if I'm not going on vacstion!!

The best home town meat shop around. They make there own sausage, baloney and jerky. You'll known from the smell when you open the front door that your in the right place.

Just stumbled on Brant's last week while staying at Wilson Lake. Wow! What a great hometown place! Very friendly, told us all about the history of the store, gave us free samples too! The ring bologna is great and the smoked sausage and jerky are Amazing! Also pointed us in the direction of their very unique public restroom - you gotta check this out! A very fun and interesting side trip. SO glad we happened upon Brant's and we will be making a planned trip again very soon!

The greatest beef jerky ever! I am addicted. And...he ships it to Colorado quickly. I love this place.
