A car-smart friend recommended The Brake Shop for some brake work. The shop has an old-school feel, like the repair shops of my youth in the mid-60s. Shop cat, people smoking, inventory stacked everywhere, stuff like that. They did rear drums on my car for $120, did it quickly and the work appears good. The mechanic also correctly diagnosed and fixed a front suspension issue that has eluded other mechanics. So overall I was pleased by their service. I would much rather come to a local place like this than get needlessly upsold at some chain store.

Needed 10 x 2 inch brake shoes for my trailer, which are not made anymore. I mailed my old shoes to them to be relined. They received them late on a Tuesday, bonded on new brake lining, and had them back in the mail on Thursday. They arrived looking like new shoes. I am very happy with the work.

I used The Brake Shop last year to get all new brakes for my truck. Their pricing was considerably less than everyone else, but they didn't lube them properly because there was still a squeak in cold weather. They also charged fees for paying with a card that was a little high.

Took a set of drums in for minor machine work with clear instructionsand the drums marked where they needed to be machined to, even left one with correct dimension for reference (only needed 1/8in taken off outer edge) When I got them back to the shop and checked, therehad been 3/8 taken off, now they are paper weights, expensive scrapmetal, as in NOT USABLE! Between the cost of the drums and the $50.00 I spent having them ruined, I'm out $385.00 ( Not an exaggeration, they were $83.80 Ea) A cautionary tail for those arepaying attention, been going there 20 + yr's Won't go back!
